It's not the safest or best smelling place to visit. But still pretty none the less
Always good to take a break there
with my group whilst doing a tour of the gardens.
Historic, beautiful and idyllic. Oh and rats with bushy tails, let's not forget about them.
We visited the night market over the Christmas / New year season.
The Company Gardens was the ideal place to hold the market . The market was very busy and gave friends and family a chance to meet up and socialise.
During the day the Company Gardens hosts many who come there just to relax, have their meal on the benches or grass and just spend time with family and friends.
The Company Gardens boasts its own restaurant with the National Library at the one end and the Museum at the other end. Parliament buildings to other side. Really an interesting place to take children to learn
Fabulous. Clean and safe. Great for couples and families or solo. FREE! Fun to feed the squirrels.
My morning walk to work through this picturesque &pretty garden...
Very nice park to visit for a little moment of relaxation.
I was there for community day. Tons of poke stops and a enjoyable place to walk around on a nice day. There's also a man sized chess board you can play with friends. Just keep your belongings to a minimum and close to you.
Food good , but watch when you get the bill they put a tip
on without asking you
Just too beautiful. Botanical gardens in the heart of the city.
Love sitting, reading and watching the birds and ducks. Fantastic history and a marvellous restaurant
Comfortable, like a good picnic spot in Daan Forest Park, Taiwan
Lovely for a stroll, the novelty of the picnic however has faded between the stench of litter & vagrants. The vegetation and plant scenery is beholding and beautiful nevertheless.
I liked the place squirrels everywhere , also a cool place to relax and appreciate nature.
It's a beautiful place for picnics and photo shoots, it has an amazing view of table mountain and beautiful flowers and squirrels if you love nature and animal.
Great places .. unspoiled gardens ... you can come in front of you at any time
Dirty, lots of vagrants. Don't feel safe there anymore.
Beautiful as ways. The public should keep it clean please. Thank you for this tranquil place in a very busy city.
Lovely setting but can do with some cover against birds (droppings) in the branches above. Decent portions and tasty food.
good for picnics with family. ....play nets for kids....really loved it
There is a great variety of tropical plants and many good-humored visitors there.
Something needs to be done about all the rats in the gardens.
We love walking in this place nejoying nature, history and good culture.
Very sad that such a beautiful place has such bad service. Waited 10 minutes to order a drink then sat there with no help and no staff in sight for around 30 minutes. Was planning on getting something to eat but decided to rather go to a restaurant that remembers the guests it's serving.
Clean and well maintained. Home to some of south Africa's more rural people. A great home to all
Lovely location to visit in Cape Town. I visited in the winter (Aug 2018) but was very serene and a beautiful day. Some very interesting sculptures and plant species as well as views of Table Mountain and historical markers. Close to downtown hotels and locations with being secluded enough to not feel like it s downtown. Plus, it s a free location to visit in the city. Would highly recommend a stroll.
Fun experience for the grandkids to feed the squirrels, too bad about the amount of beggars lying around
Gangster squirrels, cute though. Really nice place to be
A small oasis in the middle of the city. Worth a walk through and the tea garden is a great place to enjoy a bite to eat while exploring Cape Town.
The gardens hold historical significance but could be better maintained to make it more of a informative and aesthetically pleasing
Its a very nice peaceful garden. A popular tourist destination so can have lots pf people. Squirrels, pigeons and ducks to see. Nuts for the fauna can be bought at all entrances for about 5 rand . Good place to tale the kids .
Well worth a visit to see some of the history of the cape
Historic place and beautiful environment good place to spend time with family n frnds
Not maintained as before there are a lot of hobos staying there
Well-kept shady park, especially recommended on hot days
Wow amazing inside a city very natural scenery everyone would loved it
Beautiful place. Lovely vendors. A bit uncomfortable at times wrt beggars.
A lovely mixed historic space with an extensive array of cultural, political and religious offerings. Don't miss the Iziko South African Gallery and the botanical garden. The South African National Library is an undiscovered treasure with a plethora of rare books and Africana. This is a must for all visitors - a lovely place to immerse yourself in history. Bring some nuts to feed the squirrels.
Great iconic Cape Town attraction. Full of history, shady spots and squirrels.
Relaxing - great outdoors place to spend with family
Very nice place to just have breather. But it's also now become a bit unsafe as I was followed through the garden but luckily I manage to find district security. So enjoy the scene but be aware.
Amazing open park for picnics, party's and other social gatherings. The park boasts a variety of flora and has an abundance squirrels. It also has a great museum contained within it, which does have an entree fee.
Nice garden. Magnificent view of Table Mountain. Allows alternating shade and sun
An excellent little breakfast spot, although the service can take a while. A good selection of brunch options in a lovely surround.
Sweet place to feed the squirrels. Lovely Gardens. Nice coffee shop.
Very relaxing, and it's very therapeutic walking around feeding the squirrels
Kids love this place (secretly adults too), feeding pigeons and squirrels, being in nature with beautiful trees, just good for the soul!
Wonderfull cool weather, good service & delicious food & drinks, ample squirells to feed as they endear themselves to us. Loved it.
I visited with my two boys, 5 and 6 respectively. I did not feel safe as there were quite a few suspect individuals wearing hooded tops in the middle of the day and I didn't see one Security Guard.
This actually spoiled my visit and I wouldn't bother to go again unless the security is beefed up.
Very beautiful place and very relaxing only problem is people beg for money and chase the tourist away
Bit disappointed in portions for the price and quality.
A real haven that is accessible for rich and poor. It can do with a mor e indigenous approach.
Pity the Gardens are not getting the attention to detail as they used to. But still probably the best park experience ever...
Buy a bag of peanuts for R4 from a vendor near the WiFi Tree. Sit on a bench with peanuts on your lap and wait for squirrels/pigeons . Don't move.
