When I think of a five-star hotel I think of being wow'ed at every turn and I wasn't at the g Hotel. From the time my partner and I checked in I was being sold on the spa services instead of being sold first on how great our amenities and services would be. It's something hard to describe but it's a talent that hotels like the Powerscourt Hotel in Co. Wicklow has, class. The rooms were cramped and the gym was a small room with a few pieces of equipment. I expected better from both.Everything about the hotel was just OK. If the g Hotel were rated as a three-star or maybe even a four-star hotel I could understand some of these deficiencies, but I was paying for and expecting five-star quality and I received three-star quality instead. So I'm rating my experience with three stars.

Worst hotel I have stayed in. Should be a 1 star not 5. I stayed for one night on Stevens night in December 2019. First of all when I arrived I figured out they have no pool which is disappointing. How in ever they have a thermal suit which you have to pay an extra 10e to use and book into!!! Bit of a nuisance to be honest. The rooms were decent. The service wasn t great either. At breakfast they completely forgot my breakfast was waiting ages while my partner had his. Then asked for more tea and they forgot that too . Then I went to treat myself to a luxury pedicure as I am pregnant so couldn t get any other service in the spa. The pedicure was meant to last 70 mins. She finished me in 35!!!!! Didn t massage me at all, and my 2 year old would have done a better job of painting my nails. Was one of the most un-relaxing experiences ever. Then worst of all my partner had checked out while I was in the spa. My bag was left in the room as I needed it to get dressed. The woman at reception Eleanor wouldn t give him a key to just run back up and get it. Over all was just very disappointed. The whole experience wasn t good. Didn t enjoy my time there and I m not a fussy person.

A perfect place to escape the wet weather in the west. Service was excellent but staff were very friendly but also professional. The rooms are spacious and luxurious. The breakfast was really lovely and relaxing. We had a session in the spa which was indulgent but so worth it. The hot stone massage has left me feeling loose and relaxed. Definitely recommend it for a little bit of escapism.

The G Hotel & Spa Hotel Galway offers a dinner & m...

The G Hotel & Spa Hotel Galway offers a dinner & movie package which cost 32 euro per person (2 course).
The eye cinema is right next door and all you have to do is ring the G Hotel book your dinner, for approximately 2 hours before the showing, the hotel procures the tickets and you can pick them up at the hotel restaurant after dinner.
Dinner menu is varied & concise which I like, they will allow you to customize any dish to your preference. The cocktails are delicious and most are reasonably priced at just 10 euro.
Dress code is relaxed but it's a nice excuse to dress up.
Conveniently located it has two enterences one on the Dublin Rd and one on the Monivea Rd. The G has ample parking outside it's doors and more is available underground.
The staff are the best thing about this place top marks for customer service and their managers especially Barry who is an asset to the hotel.
Love the interior design which was done by an east Galway native, Philip Tracey the famous hat designer.
Highly recommend a visit.

Fantastic place to stay. Had a great time visiting Galway, and this hotel was excellent while staying there. Lots of parking available in their parking garage, but it's a pretty narrow area.

We just spent a very enjoyable weekend in the G Hotel.
The highlight for me was without doubt the Customer service. It was by far the best I have experienced - ever.
From the minute you walk in you are made feel so welcome and this continues throughout your stay.
On the Friday night we had a meal in the main restaurant, Beautiful food and a lovely ambiance.
Breakfast top class also and the bar and cocktail area are very nice too.
The room was spacious and spotless
I have no negatives
Yes a little pricey but it s worth it

Lovely, bright colourful hotel with amazing themed lounges. Unusual dark black silver speckled dazzling granite interior foyer
The toilets are superb and spacious. Very colourful indeed.
A glass of Tattinger champagne is 19 euro. Absolutely way too overpriced.
The location , grounds and views from the hotel were not great.

It's a beautiful place for anything from afternoon tea and cakes to a meal or just a drink. The interior is very impressive and has a very chic style. The food is fabulous and surprisingly is very reasonably priced. The Spa is a real treat if you're into that kind of thing ( or get dragged there by your wife lol ) although I have only used the pool and not any of the Spa treatments but my wife says that she really enjoyed them.

It was one of the most pleasant and enjoyable experiences I have had in a while. All the staff from front desk right the way through the hotel were so friendly and courteous. They could not have been more helpful. The decor was beautiful. It was so relaxing sitting back and taking it all in. The food was top class and had that little bit extra to both make it look and taste amazing... so all in all a BIG thank you for such a lovely time... really hope to see you all again soon..

A fabulous Hotel and the staff were exceptional. Service and presentation top notch. Just a very short taxi ride from the city centre or a 10-minute walk.
The only negative thing I have to say is that if you are in one of the front rooms facing the bay and the sun is out the room gets very very warm, almost uncomfortably so and even with air conditioning on full power the room was still too hot.
However in saying that I would still definitely return to this hotel again.

My first impression of the reception area was that it was dirty, lots of footprints on the floor and the windows were very dirty. The receptionists were disorganised and unclear as to how to provide the simple service required. Very disappointing considering the high cost there.

This hotel was fantastic. We arrived way before check-in due to our flight, and the front desk advised us of plenty to do nearby while we waited, including telling us where the best local coffee was despite it not being their bar.
The staff was all incredibly friendly, and even when we didn't use the valet, the garage always had spots a 15 second walk from the hotel elevator.
The afternoon tea service was delicious, and the room was incredible. When we got in, we found a complimentary bottle of wine for our honeymoon, and it was delicious.
We forgot a sweater and a dress in the room when we checked out, and the hotel was willing to simply mail it to our next destination so we wouldn't have to drive nearly 2 hours out of our way to pick it up.

Standards have dropped severely in last six months. Obvious that the financial difficulty the hotel faces is causing this. First hotel I have ever been in with bars of soap in the public bathrooms. Overall the hotel looks very aged and needs a lot of work.

Wow is a word you use when visiting The G Hotel . The lively vibrant decor is a trademark of this Philip Tracey designed hotel and we had the pleasure of enjoying afternoon tea in the Pink Room. This is a busy hotel especially on a Saturday afternoon but as you sit in the beautiful comfortable couches of this room there is a calm and dreamy atmosphere and you can relax enjoy delicious food and people watch. Service was friendly if a bit slow but we were not rushing away so we enjoyed every minute. Well worth a visit if visiting Galway.

The colors of the place may not be for everyone, but the rooms are top notch at this chic/hip hotel. The breakfast is on the nicer side of continental buffet with the option for menu service. The bar area has two rooms for lounging with a nightclub vibe.
