You have to eat fish on an island. Because where else can you find so many fresh fish brought ashore the same day? Fish kitchen is located on the first floor above a fish shop. And we are advised by the B&B. More than rightly so. It is small, but cozy. And people even come from far away to eat there. You can hardly wish for better advertising.

This is a fantastic place to eat,whether it is luck, even meal or a celebration. We have eaten on all those occasions. In my opinion it is the best of Bantry. Yum.

Very nice atmosphere, quite small and comfortable. Food was impeccable, not cheap, but adequate and very nice staff.

RECOMMENDED SUPER FISH DISHES AND GORGEOUS DESSERTS .ALLE YEARS AGAIN.

Fantastic fish and chips (Haddock as fish of the day), so fresh, hand cut fries. Chowder is also great and super tasty. They have a couple of spots right outside to eat the takeaway. Best in Bantry!

Fantastic food. Lovely servers. Warm and homey place for food. Had the seafood chowder and home made brown bread. Mussels for main. And to end it on a higher note had the banoffi pie. Delish. Cant wait to come back

Fab food, lovely friendly waitresses, tiny place but the decor makes it more spacious...well worth waiting 15mins for a table.

A wonderful selection of fish dishes, served by enthusiastic people. Booking very advisable & confirmation essential as mealtimes can be extremely busy. Also emphasise you are a relaxed diner in case they want a second sitting. Otherwise "A must visit". Fish chowder was excellent with an open prawn salad. 5*

Excellent cuisine, very tasty, friendly service. Reservation recommended, two-shift operation in the season (reservations possible for 5:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.). Very nice atmosphere.

Super delicious fish .....
..... and a very attentive, unobtrusive, friendly, with great humor equipped staff.
The food is "worth its price" and every penny.
If we come close again we will come back here.

Recommended by a local and delighted we got to sample the amazing food on offer. Friendly staff too! Gets very busy and people will queue to get in so best to book if you can.

Love this restaurant. Always welcoming & friendly. Great choice of fresh local caught fish cooked to perfection. Great desserts selection too. I've never been disappointed.

Very pleased with the staff. Half my party was quite pleased with they're selection. My open faced prawn sandwich was not delicious. I suppose we should have asked about it. Not what I expected.a light shrimp salad sandwich on extremely dry bread. I could barely swallow it. Choose wisely

The atmosphere is good. It's up stairs a nice quaint little kitchen. Food was very fresh and tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful.

It's a hidden gem, serving fabulous food by lovely friendly staff, a must if visiting Bantry.

I had a very tasty tuna steak, cooked rare. My companions were very happy with their choices. Staff are friendly and efficient. Be sure to book: it's a small place and fills up quickly!

Had dinner with our one and a half year old at the 6pm sitting. Very nice staff, great food and our little fellow had white plaice with veg. Nice setting too and relaxed atmosphere.

Go upstairs in the very tidy and nice dining room and enjoy local fresh seafood :)

No seafood in the seafood chowder. Mostly just white sauce with lots of green onion bits and tiny carrot bits. We paid too much for what we received. Priced like fine dining, but Formica tables crowded in too close and paper napkins. Miniscule wine glasses with average wine. Two things on the menu board that they were out of at 6pm on Friday evening. Staff were charming and kind. Won't go back.

Really good food, the fish is really fresh. Had the hake special with crab claws, I would go back to Bantry every evening just for the crab claws, they were delicious! The mascarpone dessert was a lovely light dessert. Lovely food and very nice staff.

The perfect small town bistro - on 2nd floor, wonderful food, wine and beer, and service.

What a lovely thriving little restaurant, delicious food, helpful and friendly owners who can cater for us all, I say this as my companion was dairy, gluten and egg intolerant. This restaurant is a must! Book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Love this place. Has 10 tables and I've never seen an empty one. Food is fantastic, staff are brilliant and very friendly. Always look forward to going there as a treat or just for lunch/evening meal, it fits every bill.

Grand place, small - not quite sure if it befits the reputation. Wife was happy! Personally food was fine, but presentation not great. Would probably give it a 3.0 normally.
