The Fat Frogg Bar & Grille Review

Good food, good service and love meeting the students!

The Fat Frog has a great atmosphere, friendly staff and what I consider to be a great beer selection. If you are a beer enthusiast or just out for a fun evening this is a great spot. I've had lunch here a couple of times and the food is a cut above standard bar grub as well.

The food was just okay and our waitress was not the quickest. Looked like they had good drinks but will not be going back

The food honestly keeps getting better and better, I love it. The new menu is outstanding as well, with a great variety. My favorite is the C.B.R. Quesadilla with mac n cheese.

It seems as though every single time I come here the service gets worse and worse. Me and my girlfriend at sat the table for over ten minutes while the staff (in a very slow restaurant) were on their phones and were not concerned with serving us at all and never approached us for service. After waiting for service we left. I love the food here but the service has been consistently horrible and after giving it a chance over and over I will not return.

We had eaten here the previous Sunday and the food was delicious. We came this Sunday expecting the same and the waiter was not attentive as he should have been but we thought maybe he is new and didn't complain. The food came and we ordered chicken wings that were good and one chicken tender basket was good and hot but three chicken tender baskets were cold and the chicken was pink inside. I ordered a burger and it was burnt and the sweet potato and regular chips were rubbery and cold. They said there was no owner or managers there as they were spending time with family on Sunday. They then proceeded to charge one in the party for a glass of ice water and for food we could not eat. The one man jerked the money and receipt out of one in our parties hand. He never brought the change back and said we had to pay for food we sent back after agreeing it was not cooked properly. We were charged for food we could not and had tried to eat but one bite was enough. We were told there was a new cook. They talked rudely about us to two other waitstaff in hearing distance and as we walked out the door, were laughing and pointing at us. I have never written a bad review but this experience was unbelievable. I would have highly recommended this bar/pub before today as great, but the difference between this experience and that one was horrible. I guess you can try it if you want and it might be like forest Gump, it is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you might get.

Best restaurant in Elon. Crowded and full of loud college students. I order take out and avoid the college snowflakes.

I personally enjoy locally owned and operated restaurants. I prefer to support local businesses. Fatt frogg failed to deliver that personlized touch that many local owned businesses provide. Sadly, this establishment could be a lot better.

There's not much to like here. Limited draft craft brews, poor customer service and just all around bad atmosphere. The wait staff could care less about your patronage. Menu is basic bar food which is is sub par and overpriced at best. The atmosphere is stereotypical college bar vibe and could use some updating to at least appeal to a larger demographic since it is located in an area that could benefit from such. I wouldn't recommend this establishment to anyone, unless of course you just want a beer and listen to music. Don't count on the wait staff to accommodate you in any efficient amount of time though.

Another noteworthy fact is if you arrive on a night a band is scheduled to play(and you have no desire to listen to band) either leave immediately or get out before 945p because security will strong arm you into paying a cover charge while you are in the middle of eating/drinking and demand you pay or leave immediately.(even if you are on outdoor patio away from band area) . You could have a group of friends that could result in a substantial food/beverage tab and it still doesn't matter. The cover charge will be demanded.

Last but not least, fatt frog is a dirty/dingy establishment. Staff is not friendly or in any way motivated to earn a service industry wage plus tip. Security staff is rude and obnoxious. I don't even think there was a manager on duty that evening my group patronized this place.

There are plenty of places to spend your money, don't do it at Fatt Frogg.

Love the menu. Our waitress was wonderful. The manager could have stepped in to at least take our drink order until our waitress could come to the table. The wait staff looked busy stocking and cleaning when we arrived. We almost got up and left, it took so long for anyone to come to our table. There were only 3 tables with patrons.

First off, if you haven t been to the Frogg lately, you haven t been.
New menu is on point. Food is always great, atmosphere is clean and inviting, the service is great, awesome entertainment, and all has become so much better under new ownership. Not your typical bar restaurant.
If you re looking for a break from the monotony of 1 hour waits for mediocre food and service this is your place!

Had a great Club Sandwich that was huge. Chips were great, service was great and the price was right. Highly recommend if you re looking for a quick lunch.

An amazing place to go and enjoy your time with friends or meet new people. Mostly craft and IPA beers (not many main media products) and supports local brewery's. Overall a great place to enjoy.

Awesome bar with great food and drinks. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They have good music quite often, and it's surely worth checking out. Stop in, grab a bite, and relax to some nice tunes with a good drink in your hand.

Only one bartender on a Friday night. $8 cover charge is crazy!

I try to eat here about once a month for lack of places to eat in elon. Every experience is worse then the next. Rude staff who's rather be on the phones then helping customers. I'm never trying to go here again.

Such a fun place to take the family for lunch. Great music playing all day long, good football on the TV, and delicious food. Mommy can get a yummy cocktail. Kids can get delicious food for $3.50. Service is great!

We love the place. But tonight we were there with friends, and they ordered the chicken breast strips on my recommendation, and they were dry and overcooked. Very disappointed.

Idek where to start service and food are ass the owners a old doushbag. I would literally recommend any other bar but this one I would go somewhere where they appreciate your business.

Awesome experience! They weren't busy on a Sunday early evening... The staff was great and interacted with our little one, food was good, and the live music duo was excellent!

Service was great per usual however I was informed that they were not accepting the gift cards (that I had saved for a special occasion) that I had anymore.

I don't always go out for live music & libations in Elon, but when I do, I go to the Fat Frogg!

I loved this place so much. They have a dog friendly patio, a delicious menu, and a decent beer selection. I highly recommend! We will definitely be back.

My buddy and I loved this place. Food was excellent and the waitstaff was very impressive. The band that was there played a good mix of old and new hits. Very enjoyable.

So, here we go. I came here two nights and didn't go over that well. Gave it a third strike in this one bar town, and service won me over. It had a slow rocky start and took some traction, but they managed to win me over. Ended up coming here like 7 times on my trip. Music can get loud so be ready, but the people actually are pretty great.

My food, a grilled chicken wrap with sweet potato fries, was very good. Service was friendly and prompt. The atmosphere was that of a college pub and could become very loud if it was busy.

Best bar and grill in the Elon / Burlington / Gibsonville area. Pool tables. Live bands. College crowd. Burgers and frog legs. Sunday brunch. Slightly upscale. Better behaved than some of the other bars.

Beers is cold. Great service and customers are friendly. Food was outstanding! Definitely will come back next time we are in town.
