We've only been here twice, traveling from MI to WI. Both times the food has been great (the soups are wonderful!!) and the servers are very competent and friendly. This will continue to be our stopover place during our travels.

I love diners and diner food and the breakfast was delicious. Our waitress was super and kept the coffee coming as she told us interesting stories. I'll visit again next time I'm up north.

My fiance & I stopped at The Family Inn on our way home from our Camp yesterday and was very disappointed. It's been a number of years since I've been to The Family Inn and I won't be back. After we sat at the booth it took a long time for our waitress to bring us menus and offer us something to drink. When she returned with our beverages we asked for a minute to look over the menu. 10 minutes later she returned. After we placed our order, we waited 50 minutes (not an exaggerration) to get our food. The restaurant was less than half-full when we ordered with numerous tables & booths available and no one sitting at the counter. Our waitress did not come to our table once to refresh our drinks or explain why the long wait for the food. Instead she leaned on the counter or the cashier stand and avoided our table, as well as her other tables in our section. I'm sorry, but 50 minutes for an omelet and some scrambled eggs & sausage gravy (which is canned by the way...not homemade) over fried potatoes should not have taken that long.

Love the attitude of the waitresses. They were courteous and you didn't have to wait and the food was excellent. My daughter Sandra Forest has been a waitress there for many many moons. She serves with a glow in her eyes as long as the rest of the girls do. I would recommend this place highly to everyone.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff. A true homestyle restaurant.

Went there for breakfast. It was our first time there. You get a big breakfast and plenty of choices too. Place was pretty busy but have quite a bit of seating. Will go back.

Food was great. The staff was on the ball. It was a busy sunday and the order was correct without a long wait.

I would give it a zero if I could, worst walleye ever, and waitress forgot we were there
