Like the events. I love the building something makes me feel at home. I would recommend attending. I do not spend any money I go to go but maybe a person with money would find something to their liking. :-)

The historic Thomas Center, full of rich history and timeless beauty inside and out located in the heart of Gainesville, Florida, was the perfect venue for our evening time wedding reception. Mrs. Erica Chatman and the Thomas Center facilities staff were truly wonderful to work with and an invaluable asset in the planning and execution of our event.

A lovely venue with beautiful lush outdoor gardens featuring gigantic sprawling trees, well manicured lawns, elegant fountains, and quaint enclosed areas, including a small outdoor theatre with excellent acoustics. I haven't been inside the center proper. But, I've heard that it has a lot to offer as well, including performance spaces for rent.

Charming building with great architecture, great for photos at any angle inside or outside. Inside the building are great period rooms and cell phone tour that help tell the story of the Thomas family and the history of Gainesville.

The art galleries house great exhibits and receptions throughout the year with air condition to beat the heat.

The lawn and gardens outside are a great spot to throw a frisbee, read a book, or hunt Pokemon.

Beautiful historic location. I've lived in Gainesville practically all my life but had never been until recently, my children had their art displayed. I believe we will return, perhaps for a tour someday!

The Thomas Center is amazing and their event coordinator, Eric Chatman, is even more amazing! They run thier place like a well oiled machine and are prepared and ontime for all events.

I have had the pleasure of working with the Thomas Center planning events such as high school proms, dances, fundraisers and also local organizations fundraisers as well as music recitals all of which have gone off without a hitch.

In June I also had a the pleasure of having my wedding at The Thomas Center and quite a few things went wrong that day in regards to my vendors but the staff at The Thomas Center was amazing and did everything within their ability to make things right which was above and beyond what they needed to do.

The site was beautiful, all the materials we rented from them were great and of course the staff - which I can't say enough - was unbelievable.

Beautiful grounds but LOADS of fire ants!!! My word! My pregnant wife kneeled in the gorgeous grass and within seconds had 45 fire ant bites that rapidly formed into enormous welts. Yikes! I looked in the area and saw no visible ant hill nearby. Stay on the sidewalks, folks!

Beautiful grounds! I absolutely love visiting with my family and spending a quiet afternoon on the lawn. This is a great location to picnic, have a wedding or just have some quality quiet time in the middle of Gainesville.

The Thomas Center is an under-appreciated and underutilized gem in Downtown Gainesville! The gardens are beautiful all year long, but especialy colorful and fun in the spring and summer, the sprawling lawns are just begging to be picnicked upon, and there are tons of benches, shady areas, and tree trunks to perch under for a good afternoon read.

Very interesting and I enjoyed my visit, but it's a bit challenging as an event venue. It's a historic site so there are several concerns to work around, such as food/drink areas, electrical, etc. If you need to talk with staff it's recommended to make an appointment.
