Best burgers in town, nice crowd, a broad slice of Cleveland Heights, friendly, relaxed service but they don't drag their feet.

Grear food. However tea tastes like made with tap water. Substitute onion rings for fries, only get 5 onion rings
Great food. Good atmosphere. One of my favorite "neighborhood" bars.
A classic neighborhood bar. The staff is friendly, the people are there to gave a good time, and the patio is an absolute hidden gem. Seriously one of the best inn Cleveland. The food is good with frequent rotating specials and plenty of options for beers on tap or in bottles.
I was there on a recent Friday night and it was busy with families with kids, students, couples and anyone else in the mood for some fine food and drink. I was sitting with some relatives and some apps came out of the kitchen including an outstanding flatbread, skins and calamari. The calamari was excellent with or without marinara sauce. I started eating like a rabid dog and then it was time for dinner. All world or fish fry? After much discussion and thinking I got the fish fry. Crisp perch, fries, slaw and fine tartar. In older times it was known as The Colony, good then, better now.
Neighborhood Pub with a variety of simple menu choices.
Try the Clevelander (turkey reuben). Staff was friendly and the service was good.
After giving a second chance- service again mediocre and food sub-par. Nice patio. Good for going for a drink.
The hosts were amicable, the drafts were cold, but the service was poor. We asked the waiter to give us a few minutes to pick our orders. He waited 20. When we ordered we ended up waiting over thirty minutes for wings and turkey burgers. The food was good, but the waiter wasn't checking on us, was not making sure we were doing alright. When it came time for the bills, he took our cards, misran the bills (charging the wrong bills on the wrong cards), and then handed the three cards and receipts to one of our party and said, "it's your job to hand these out." This was really unprofessional. We had two people who work in the service industry in our party, and they would never dream of treating guests this way. So sad we had this experience because we love supporting local businesses and the Cedar Lee neighborhood.
Solid neighborhood tavern. The patio is a great place to spend a summer evening. The specials are usually very good, especially the soups.
Food was okay. I called ahead it see if this place was was kid friendly, assured it was, got there and they had a single coloring book and had 2 full crayons left. Unimpressive.
Great neighborhood eatery.
Friendly service and good food.
Food was good, waiter was sort of a putts about giving me a straw for my iced tea.
Decent beer selection, and the food is pretty good as well. Relatively creative, flavorful, and well cooked.
Always awesome at the Tavern Company! I had the Ohio City Pappardelle Pasta and it was incredible. A perfect blends of flavors. The service was excellent, fun ambiance and great food.
Causal neighborhood place dinning on the patio for right no during Covid
The flatbread pizza and blended buffalo wings were great. The service was excellent and the game room was a good way to end the visit. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was great service could of been better.. I'll try them again.
Love the food, might biased as my brother is a cook, though
My family loves this place! My daughter can't get enough of the 'treasure box' Sara has cleverly put together for kids post meal. She also so enjoys the seasonal coloring contests. My husband and I love the food, service and especially appreciate the kids menu choices at appropriate kid prices.
Friendly service, good food, good beer, great patio!
Went on a Friday night, pretty crowded, but to be expected because it's really outstanding . People from John Carroll, families with young kids, couples,so it's a good diverse crowd. Flatbread great, potatoes great, calamari great. After all of that it was time to eat;got the fish fry (perch),OMG crisp not mealy or mushy, tartar very good ,slaw 5 outta 5. I left properly full and totally satisfied. Oh yah,the service, truly stellar. I live in Tremont but Lee is calling me.
Service was fantastic, the restaurant itself looks a bit tired and warn out but has a lot of character. I normally get burgers here which are incredible, but I thought I'd try something new. They had nachos on the menu. HUGE mistake. It was just some chips on a plate with a small handful of shredded chicken and at least 3 gallons of flavorless barely room temp extremely watery cheese sauce. For $15... I could have done better at a gas station. From such an icon, I expected better.
I was hesitant to try this restaurant at first . BUT I am glad we decided to have dinner here. The service was great. The food was exceptional!!!! We purchased the turkey burger (delicious) wings, tavern great, and the burger with the egg. None of the food was greasy and outside bar was a finishing touch. We will definitely be back real soon
Long time Cleveland Heights staple with excellent food and very good service.
Quite simply, The Tav Co. is a mainstay for Cleveland Heights and has been in the neighborhood in one fashion or another for decades. The food is great, the patio is nice to eat on and Chris the owner knows how to do a great job. He has been mastering it for years.
Great food and great service, was here for the NBA playoffs, even though they were packed, we received prompt service and got delicious hot food without skipping a beat. Would recommend any day for a nice casual dining experience!
It's under new management and name it's called Kensington pub
Great atmosphere!!! Customer service is Top notch, Food is Amazing all around great establishment to Be Period.
Food selection was typical bar food...meh. Went on a Friday night, sat at the bar and the place was understaffed. Ordered along with an appetizer two PBR drafts and was charged 12$, was billed as "dortmunder". I know I made a hipster selection but come on 6$ a PBR is ridiculous. Bartender said a PBR selection was not available in the P.O.S system.....yeah place is pretty much a joke. Made me really miss the Colony.
Good bar food. Menu is very basic (not very inventive) but the food they do make is very good.
Nice atmosphere and food seems good, but I have never experienced a ruder group of bartenders. Their arrogance and lazy attitude is completely inexcusable. My final straw was during my last visit... the staff's under-their-breath racial slurs aimed at my group should be fire-able. This place is awful, and they have lost a group of customers forever, until they change staff. Worst of my life.
A very chill environment, somewhere between dive and relaxing. Drinks are not that expensive and the desserts are awesome! Parking right in back and walking distance from many other activities in the area. I'll for sure return!
The food here is EXCELLENT! One of the BEST NE Clam Chowders I've ever had. Chef Jamie Wynbrandt works magic, & is such a sweetie! Tavco is a great place for eats.
Decent food. Overpriced, though, and customer service is lacking. Good place for a relaxed dinner date.
Incredible food, great prices. Sunday Brunch is a must with the Chocolate Chip & Bacon pancakes!
We go here fairly frequently; also known as "Tavco" to the locals. High quality food at reasonable prices.
I really like the blackened chicken sandwich. Turkey burger is great too. A Cleveland Heights gem
Service wasn't great, they were out of 3 of the beers on their beer list, but the burgers are incredible
The service was horrible. We ordered burgers and we waited almost an hour. We left before eating and we will not be back. There are much better options on Lee Rd.
Good local bar to bit burger and get drinks but it needs some cleaning
Tavern Company is a Cleveland Heights staple. Located in the Cedar Lee district, Tav Co is nestled amongst many other shops and restaurants. The fare ranges from classic, well made, bar food to flatbreads and daily specials. Best burgers in the Cedar Lee.
This is an old, worn property but very friendly and accomodating staff.
Pretty good food and decent prices. The new owner isn't friendly but the old staff that's still there is. I love coming here for happy hour. Parking behind the bar but park down the residential streets for free to stay awhile :)
Great place to hangout! Really good food! Friendly staff ! Highly recommend!
The patio is a great place to enjoy a beautiful evening. The food was good, as was the service.
Because no matter what day of the week it is the food is always spot on.
Will miss my
Sweet Cousin Jill Mooney. Thank you to the The Tavern and all the staff for a super nice reception. .
A great place to wind down with great comfort food.
Literally my favorite restaurant in Cleveland. The local mixed greens salad with grilled chick is SO GOOD!!! I need to found out how they make that dressing:))(
Terrible waiter, terrible sandwich, had to ask for bill. I don't ask for much just a nice attentive server. I would never go back. The old Colony days are long gone and it's sad.
The food, service and bar were outstanding. Love the wings, turkey clevelander, flatbreads, clam chowder and everything else I have tried. Very family friendly.
Very terrible place! I ordered a grilled cheese to go and when I went to pick it up nobody helped me for 5 minutes when I saw nobody was busy. One guy from the bar looked at me funny and then said someone will help me. Other bar tenders kept walking by and looking at me and kept walking away. And then I saw another bartender standing there looking at the tv and just talking and not working. Right before I was about to say something someone finally walked up to me and asked if I needed something and I m like yea my to go order and instead of telling me how much it was he just sat my order in front of me with the bill facing me and walked away. I would hate to say this place is racist but by the looks of it, it seems that way. Grilled cheese sucked by the way and I hate that they took over Brennan s colony! I have been going there since I was a kid and I hate to say that they are putting a discrase on their name!
The food is good at this neighborhood bar/restaurant and it's a decent casual option for when you want to follow the sports action. The service can be a bit hit or miss but they're friendly.
Won t do carry out at 8pm on Fridays. The Colony used to. Miss the Colony :(
Nice bar and bartenders, but can get quiet packed on the weekends.
Good service, good food, and a good selection of alcohol.
We had burgers and they were outstanding. Good tavern atmosphere.
