We went for a rooftop pool party at the embassy. The hotel and pool area are very nice. It was awkward that the pool party we paid to attend still had hotel children and families hanging around. We eventually got rained out and headed to the lobby bar to Continue the party. Drinks and service were alot better but a bit pricy. The atmosphere is very good.

During our stay the hotel was under construction at the reception, but the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The hotel service is very professional and attentive. The price is somewhat high, but it is more or less according to the prices of the city (it is a quite expensive city). Located two minutes walk from Dupont Circle, it is very well connected to the tourist area of the city.

Quite a hike from everything rooms were small but up to date no refrigerator and only ice machines on 2 floors. But my biggest complaint is the parking and fees ended up being as much as our stay... I found that a little deceptive.

This hotel has provided me and my party with exceptionally awful customer service. We got our room at extreme discount because of work related discounts. The staff of this hotel was not only rude to us, but canceled our reservation without notice to get full paying customers. This put my party out of a hotel for our vacation. I have never in my life experienced this kind of disrespect from the customer service industry, I will tell everyone I know to avoid it at all costs.

In March 2015 the hotel was finishing a refurbishment. Both the reception and the rooms make you feel like you are in a 4-star hotel. We miss breakfast that is not included. The best thing is its location in Dupont Circle, it has 5 subway stops of the monuments and in an ideal area to have a drink or dinner

Stayed two nights. Arrived early and was given an upgraded room with a street view at no extra charge.
Rooms are compact - to say the least. Very difficult to move around in the tiny bathroom. Ran the a/c fan at night because can t sleep in a totally quiet room. Didn t hear any extraneous noise from other rooms or from the street as others have noted. Staff - especially Janay at front desk - were helpful and friendly. Extremely convenient location close to metro and restaurants.

We had a fantastic stay for 4 days in Washington, Embassy row location is perfect, beautiful hotel great food and drinks , with extremely helpful staff . I mistakenly left my bluetooth headphones in my room i contacted the senior management team requesting if it could be sent to my next hotel in chicago ! Several days later still no reply i contacted the front desk to which the junior staff immediately organised for my headphones to be sent by courier , i recieved them several days later , i recieved an email a week later for embassy row senior manager staing this couldnt be organised ! How embrassing that this was already organised by there own staff group ! Good job that the junior staff working at Embassey row hotel work as hard as they do otherwise this review could be very different! Thankyou for a wonderful stay .

After two nights at this location, everything seems great. Upon my initial check in I was given a double twin bed room despite my reservation for a single Queen which was a bit irritating, but we were able to switch rooms the next day. After having several hours of flight delays and not being in a great mood, this isn't something you want to deal with on your night of arrival, but nothing I could do. The facilities are modern and the rooms are comfortable.

My review is based on a weekend that was one of the coldest. My room was very cold no matter how high I put on the heat, but since I had enough warm sheets I was okay. The place was clean. It's conveniently located. The staff were very nice and helpful. A decent place to stay.

The hotel is very nice & pet friendly which is a plus. However, they charge you a $20 per night service fee for WiFi, an adult playground, long distance calling, and a rooftop lounge. It was the coldest New Year s on record, so a rooftop lounge was out of the question, also who makes any calls from a hotel room in the age of cell phones, and these other services none of my family used. We ended up paying $80 for these fees which were non refundable and a rip off if you ask me.

Though under construction, no bar/restaurant, each of the concierge were friendly, accommodating, and helpful! We didn't mind the construction or lack of restaurant/bar because of the recommendations and positive experience they provided. The room was smaller then expected, the bathroom the size of the room, again no complaints. Here to tour the city, move into a hotel room! Would visit again!!

I hate coming to D.C. but staying here at The Embassy Row makes it a much better situation. All the staff are incredibly friendly and very attentive. From the very begining I caused the staff to have to do extra work (because I am so airheaded) and not once did any of the staff lose their composure or sense of hospitality. When I first arrived, I was under the impression the shuttle bus dropped me off at the wrong location because the lady at the front desk couldn t find my reservation. Literally two employees went dashing through the door to go get the attention of the driver so he could turn around and pick me up again. Turns out, the reservation was under another name...Then I locked myself out of my room. Through all of that the staff never lost any of their friendliness. The room was very pretty and spotless. Showers were easy to work and everything seemed modern and in proper order. I was always greeted with a smile. Even after a horrible time in DC, I still feel the need to write this review because The Embassy Row Hotel is the perfect example of how a hotel should be run.

Had some trouble checking out when our room keys stopped working before check out time. Also could have used more outlets in the room, closer to the beds. Other than that, I enjoyed my experience at this hotel. It's in a great location.

Kitchen was closed because the Cook was sick.

Front desk staff was really just OK. Employees in general were not enthusiastic.

Lack of communication caused billing issues. There was some confusion with the card used for booking vs the card used for incidentals.

Three calls so far with voicemail and no response. Can't even get a copy of our bill for reimbursement.

The building and the rooms are very nice. But we had problems with the heating since they had turned it off. And also the parking is 45usd per night in addition to the cost of the room. The personnel is very friendly. And although the restaurant is closed for remodeling

A great place to buy fresh, local, and organic groceries and foods that was a pleasant surprise when we saw it on our way to the subway station. The rooms are very nice (among one of the nicer ones I ve stayed in for the price). One gripe is that the water pressure in our shower wasn t very high. However I noticed all of the places I ve visited have low water pressure so I assume it s normal for D.C. I live in FL and therefore am used to high water pressure being only feet away from water under my feet so I will not take any stars away for that. Don t hesitate to book: staff was friendly and accommodating and the rooms were always cleaned nicely.

Nice small hotel with adequate service (one front desk associate), tiny lounge and tinier bar, clean rooms and one fabulous deck swim pool. Excellent location on Mass Ave (aka Embassy Row) a block from Dupont Circle Metro with tons of restaurants, bars, think tanks and foreign embassies.

My girlfriend and I do a lot of traveling, and this was by far the worst hotel that we have stayed at. Starting with the first night, the hotel staff didn t even greet us when we arrived. We asked them if we had paid in full, and they said yes, but we later found out they were going to charge us a daily fee at the end of our trip, even though we had been told we paid in full upon arrival. This would have not been frustrating if they were upfront and honest with us at the beginning. Next we get to our room, which looks nothing like the pictures online. It had a strange smell, and dirty pillow covers. The following morning we were getting ready to go out, and the fire alarm goes off, giving us no time to finish getting ready, which would be fine if it were an emergency, but we waited outside for 45 minutes in the heat, and no one ever told us what was happening. We would wake up in the middle of the night sweating as the AC would turn off if there was no motion in the room (like when you re sleeping and you want the ac to be on). None of this would have been that big of a deal if the hotel staff was honest, and even remotely friendly. Not once did they say hello to us (one lady was on her personal phone texting). The staff didn t even ask us how our stay was when we checked out, which was the very least they could have done. First time at the Embassy Row Hotel, last time at the Embassy Row Hotel.

Overall, not a bad hotel. Unfortunately as with many hotels they've renovated the lobby and common areas which are not representative of the rooms. Rooms are bit outdated with some needing repairs. Staff is knowledgeable and courtesy, breakfast is a bit expensive, and the restaurant and bar (beer/wine) selection is limited.

We stayed here for one night.

We stayed here for one night.

CONS: The stay ended up being much more expensive than expected because we asked if early check in was available and they said yes, but for an extra charge. I've been to many hotels that are lower rated than this and they did not charge for early check in. The parking was another charge which contributed to the higher bill. We could have parked elsewhere in parking garage nearby for much cheaper. There was no mini fridge in the room to keep any leftovers. When calling down to the front desk to ask for toiletries it took quite a while for them to bring it to our room. Once or twice we had to call and remind them we had called down. We could hear others in the room next to us in the evening which was quite annoying. The rooftop which a lot of the reviews mention was not open when we went.

Pros: the staff were friendly. The little mini cafe / store in the lobby was cute and convenient. The room itself was nice and clean, no bugs found. The location was decent enough. Good 30 minutes walk to all the memorials. Nice restaurants that weren't too far away.

Overall: would we stay here again? Maybe, as there was nothing significantly wrong with the hotel, but I'd definitely check for others with lower parking charges / no early check in fees.

We had an overall great experience at The Embassy Row Hotel last week. Clean room, clean facility, and quite at night. Excellent location. Professional and helpful staff. I only wish there was a fridge and a microwave in the room. Other than that it was excellent. Highly recommend it and definitely will be going back.
