While the decor and service was exceptional, I have to say I was not happy with the changes to the menu. Not sure if I will go back again to see what changes take place in the future

Very nice hotel. Room was spacious, clean, and very nice. They even had a sleep machine by the bed to cut down on any noise. Definitely would stay there again.
The food at the Jayhawker was great, and the $5 glass of wine Tuesday deal is great.
The staff was amazingly helpful from the start. Check in was a breeze, valet was easy and trustworthy, and they were willing to make any accommodation for me. Very pleasant stay, despite the hotel being haunted.
Not a bad upmarket restaurant. Menu needs a bit more diversity. Would recommend the coffee and caluas. Had one and it was delicious, even from a non coffee drinker.
Loved the bar. The charcuterie tray was to die for!!!
They did a great job on the remodel. Dinner for 12 was great.
The room was very well layed out, clean, and the staff was friendly.
Their martini night is a must!!! But it can get pretty crowded
Nice spacious room and furniture. Parking seems a bit pricey.
Staff is very helpful and friendly. The bed and pillows were as comfortable as any upscale hotels I've slept in the past several years. The restaurant and bar offer solid food options, a good wine list, and I'm told by people who've stranded that the Sunday brunch is quite outstanding.
they are known for martini's, but have other drinks that are also very good
Best martinis in town. All the bartenders are sweet as pie. Chocolatte is the best
The hotel is very nice, has spacious rooms and the beds and pillows are very comfortable. The complaint I have is regarding their very poor lighting in the restroom area. There is one single ceiling light which makes it next to impossible to get ready for the day.
Front desk staff were very helpful and courteous. It Was a bit loud with construction and renovations, but largely a good experience
A frequented favorite spot to watch KU Basketball with a good wine selection and decent grub. The French Onion Soup and the Kansan Salad are delicious.
Nice historic hotel. It has kind of thin walls and the rooms arent super dark at night. The staff is friendly and the rooms are big and clean.
Love this beautiful historic hotel/restaurant and bar has wonderful food and great service.
Stayed at the Eldridge extended. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The only downside was the noise from the furnace. The hotel is ideally located in downtown Lawrence.
Old hotel but it was very nice lots of history and a in the middle of downtown with lots of access to the best parts of town
Excellent food and service. Excited about going back and trying other items on the menu.
Great food and great drinks. All fast before KU games to get you in and out before the game
Classy place. Dinner was good. We had a large group so it was a little difficult for them to get all the plates out at the same time and temp. Probably better if you have a small group.
Had a good stay. Was a bit noisy but they have ear plugs for it
One of the oldest buildings in town. Remodeled a few years ago. Changed into a hotel and a restaurant. Even has a salon at the basement.
Has the best location to stay if you are going to have your business in town.
The Elderflower Martini is the best! Come out for martini night on Thursday s.
Beware of the valet at this hotel. My daughter-in-law had a pair of ray-ban sunglasses stolen from her car by the valet. This guy didn't even bother to hide his actions. The sunglasses were in a compartment which he opened and rifled through in order to help himself to someone else's property. He left the compartment open so when my daughter-in-law got into her car moments later she could easily see what had happened. She immediately reported it to the front desk clerk who was rude and condescending to her. No action was taken by this hotel. The desk clerk offered to email his manager to see what steps he should take on behalf of my daughter-in-law. Email?? Hours later he still had not taken any action. In the end, we received nothing from this hotel and were told to file a police report. In hindsight, my daughter-in-law should have just bothered the police with this that very night and perhaps something would have actually been done on her behalf. So. there is a petty thief working valet at the Eldridge. Be cautious. It's not enough to put your belongings in a compartment.
Patrick went above and beyond to ensure I enjoyed my stay in Lawrence. I asked him a quick question about when the galleries in the arts district opened and he was unsure. I went to drop some things in my room and returned downstairs to just go roam aimlessly. I was shocked when he called out to me, as I was heading out the door, because he had looked up the opening times for all the galleries and wrote them on a map of Lawrence.
Seriously, I have stayed in hotels all across the country and beyond, and this is the single greatest act of thoughtfulness I have encountered, by a mile!! If I were the owner/manager I would ask Patrick for his input in all matters related to guest experience AND give him a raise to prevent him from being stolen away by another operation.
Truly a beautiful location for a stay. This is easily the nicest hotel in town while located downtown so everything is within walking distance.
Cool old building walking distance to lots of cool places.
Elegant. First rate service. Very good wine selection.
My husband and I ate at the Eldridge Hotel Restaurant. I ordered the teriyaki salmon. It was okay. It was a narrow piece, and the teriyaki sauce was on the side. (??) The mashed potatoes were good, but they brought them separate from the plate in a little bowl.(??) It reminded me of the cafeteria. Also, the asparagus was a bit tough. Our waiter was very attentive. I had the Blackberry Whiskey Lemonade, which was delicious, and quite a large drink. Throughout our dinner, we never heard any background music, which we thought was odd. Just the echo of other conversations.
This is definitely a hotel to go to for the historical significance it played in Kansas becoming a non slave owning state. It was a headquarters in the political sense to becoming a free state. Pleases go downstairs to the Frosted double doors to see the scale models, political writings, and reconstructions of the hotel after the two burnings and remodels. It isn't to luxury hotel standards, but it is a very nice stay considering the age and history behind its exsistence.
We went for a nice dinner in the restaurant then stayed to listen to live jazz being played in the lobby while having cocktails & martinis from the bar. The Eldridge is an institution rich in history and you wish you could know all it's stories. And yes, I'm writing that about a hotel. Although not tonight, we've stayed in their rooms before and they're just as up to scratch as the rest of the services.
Just went to chill, watch KU game & have drinks with the girls. Fantastic environment & great customer service!
Super nice staff. Had drinks and lunch. It was amazing.
Great accommodations, very nice room with high ceilings and amazing bathroom. A little pricey for the night but worth the money.
1st time at the bar/restaurant. Great vibe. Reasonably priced. Easy parking in the Vermont Street garage. Ill be going back.
Went there for Martini night so it was pretty busy which wasn't a bad thing. I'm more of a beer drinker but the one martini I had was good. Very nice place though.
The apple butter mule is fantastic! Food was delicious. Try the truffle fries!
Restaurant was amazing. All you can eat brunch, amazing selection.
Restaurant is great, one of the finer dining options in Lawrence. Only reason it gets 4 stars is because service, especially in the bar area, is slow
Unpleasant experience with a group of 8. First round of drinks and appetizers were good. But then server disappeared. Didn't take our food order for an hour. Drink orders were incorrect. Some entrees were delicious, but two prime ribs were not edible. Mashed potatoes were flavorless. Dirty dishes piled up and were not removed. The manager did apologize and tell us both the bar and serving staff were short handed.
Cozy bar was a quiet harbor on a cold noisy Friday night.
48 hour cancellation policy even if they rebook your room. Noisy downtown traffic is loud in the room. No self parking just $15 vallet. I didn't like this place at all. There are much better options.
Excellent hotel. Historic yet modern. Great customer service. Wonderful room and amenities. Well maintained, clean and tastefully decorated room. Room service for breakfast was very good. Location ideal for great restaurants and shops, in the heart of downtown Lawrence. Will definitely stay here again.
Listened to a jazz trio in your lobby; great atmosphere but dimming the lighting would have made it better.
The hotel is very pretty and historical. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The rooms are quite nice with really nice beds! It's located right in downtown so everything is within walking distance!
Great selection of drinks including amazing signature and seasonal cocktails. Sangria is to-die-for! Service was excellent.
We were in town for a concert that was just across the street, so the location was perfect. The room was a single king bed, very comfortable, and plenty of pillows. Overall great stay, definitely recommended.
great ambiance, cozy and warm feeling...location great for shopping and restaurants!!!!
Hotel was fairly expensive and the room was pretty ratty. The bed was amazing. The staff always seemed too busy and we waited for a number of things for longer than we should have. They also do not offer discounts to guests attending weddings at the hotel.
Great place. By far the nicest hotel I've stayed at. Very reasonably priced for what you get! 10/10, will stay again
This place has the best deals. Especially on Thursday when it is Martini Night. 10/10 would recommend
Wouldn't give us a table at an open bar. Probably race related cause my friends are mexican and i am not tbh......
Love everything about this historic hotel. Food is fresh, creative and staff atrentive. This is a must do experience.
The food is outstanding. Prefer eating in the bar with at least 50 televisions to keep up with all the sports.
A lovely place. The staff is warm, friendly, and helpful. The location is absolutely perfect. The rooms are cozy. The building is charming and very old.
It's an overall cozy place.
The cocktails were amazing! The green giant. Probably one of the best cocktails I've ever had. The steak was perfect and the server was amazing. Highly recommend.
Love this historic Lawrence location. Nice hotel, but it's old so noise from the street can be a problem.
Enjoyed The Jayhawker bar for drinks during the Old Fashioned Christmas parade
The bar and restaurant both have good vibes. It is nice to find an adult bar in a college town. Serice and food are top notch.
Ate within the restaurant for a work function. Ordered the scallops, for $32... received 3 scallops and charred cauliflower and brussel sprouts in a General Tsos Chicken tasting sauce. Not worth the money for what I got. The rest of the More
We came here for the Easter brunch. For the two of us, the bill was over $80. For that much, I expect a truly exceptional experience, but I found it no better than similar brunches that cost half as much. Outsourced, frozen and/or stale desserts, extra charges for regular coffee (at brunch?), and average quality food leave me unlikely to return.
