Easter buffet was a let down. No mimosa included in the price like normal Sundays. The desserts and pastries were still frozen in many cases and dry in others. The hot food was barely warm. All of this for $29.95 a person. We won't be back.

Great boutique hotel in downtown Lawrence. I was offered an upgraded room when checking and the staff were very polite. The room was very spacious and well equipped. Plus an outstanding bar and restaurant in the hotel. Would definitely recommend

I visited on Thursday for happy hour ($5 Martinis) and though it was crowded and many tables were reserved, there were seats at the bar between two friendly parties. Service was good and drinks were excellent! Looking forward to next time.

The room was fine in regards to size and cleanliness, but the problem we had was that we had a room that looked out to Massachusetts St. and there were no privacy blinds except for some venetian blinds that didn't keep the light out. It was like sleeping with the lights on in the room. Also the noise in the hallways was very evident with people talking as they walked by late at night. The location is great, the anbiance is good, but the light in the room was horrible. I would stay again if they did something about that.

Ate at Ten in the hotel restaurant last night. We reserved the All American room for our group. The large group outside our door and the noise from the kitchen made it difficult to hear our conversations. The food was good. Service was just okay.

Pandemic woes: It took many tries to get reservations for 2 rooms for 2-day stay for October 3rd of 2020. Of course room prices were jacked up for the "football weekend" for KU. Ok, that's cool. We then find out the rooms were charged to our credit card. Now the wedding has been called off. Many tried to get through to cancel rooms and now 2 weeks later, no refund to credit card. Ok. Understandable? Husband calls to insure rooms are cancelled. Not sure if he has it handled with the weekend person he spoke with. The manager calls Monday night at 6pm and berates husband for bothering her for the refund to the card. "You know, the credit card companies are quick to take your money but slow to refund it". Her words, among other unprofessional ones. I wonder who charged rooms to cards well ahead of Oct. 3rd? Just a case of Pandemic Woe. Sorry we never got to stay. Not sure we would try again.

Food wasn't great. Ran out of beer, couldn't make fries. Didn't feel great after eating the French dips. Manager said the gas line went out and fryers were down. They should have just closed I think.

I was an overnight guest and loved it. The room was phenomenal and updated. The staff were great. Construction was ongoing in the hotel during my stay so I was unable to see the hotel in its entirety. However, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Martini Thursdays! As someone who lives in Kansas City, I regularly drive up to Lawrence at least once a month to see friends and this is the best deal in town. Super friendly, fast staff. Great setting in an old, but well kept hotel. You may even see a ghost!

Hotel is not clear about cancelation policies. Email and website said they required 48 hours notice for special weekends only. This is not a special weekend and we could not cancel. Rooms were nice. Pillows were terrible and went flat after ten minutes. Hotel is not sound proofed very well, so they give you ear plugs and a noise machine.

Booked a spacious suite for two nights. Lovely accommodation overlooking Massachusetts Street, Lawrence's historic main drag. VERY comfortable bed, separate sleeping and entertainment spaces, 2 TVs, blazing internet. Nicely appointed.

Separate bar and restaurant on the first floor, excellent cuisine, reasonably priced. They make a fair Old Fashioned.

Well worth availing oneself of valet services at the side entrance. Parking otherwise can be challenging.

Nice rooms and the evening and night staff were just wonderful. They deserve 5 stars for being so accommodating!
The room was nice but could use a new AC unit. It worked but sounded terrible. Also, you could see daylight around the entire door jam. The gaps allowed all hallway noise, right into your room and at 1:30-2:00 am, when the bar crowd returned to their rooms, you can imagine how loud it was. We had to get up at 5:30 am and didnt get much sleep. Made for a long orientation day at KU.

This was my first visit since it was closed for remodeling. I found the place to be quite beautiful, a modern yet classic design. Choice of furniture, colors, expansion of the bar, and entry was superb.

As far as dining, and the meal, I was not impressed. Our waiter was mediocre, nothing of the high quality service I expect and have had previously.

Our meal had a nice presentation, but again, the quality was mediocre. For the price, mediocre is not good enough.

I might try again in the future, but I'm in no hurry to.

Kind of disappointed. Food is good, great time but waiters seems not to care for us. She told us that the only available tables were high top tables, and we were ladies over 50 s and 70 s. We accepted, hoping that one of booth or tables were available TO US, without mention that there were 4 unoccupied booths and several tables and no reserves sign. All the time we were there, they never were occupied.
Do you treat your guest and clients like that? Any inconvenient in serve seniors? Please, matters!
