Lovely hotel with staff really prepared to go the extra mile.
Lovely afternoon with lunch in the sunshine @ The Douglas Hotel. Food was great , served by friendly, pleasant staff in wonderful surroundings.
I recommend you visit here it's a nice place and the drinks are good
Large room with modern classic furniture. TV has Netflix. Staff very helpful and food delicious.
Amazing hotel! Really get what you pay for when it comes to the rooms! Food and bar was good too! Only grievance was there was no sport in the bar, and had to venture out into Brodick.
The hotel is very well situated just across the peer. The hotels seems pretty new, the installations are very clean and well maintained. This is a great place to stay specially if you're coming to the island without a car. The restaurant has a good menu at reasonable prices. Perfect for a romantic stay.
Had some beers in the sun on the front terrace it was busy due to the weather being really nice but service was very good
Disappointing dinner. Food was bland and over priced. Thought food at the old pier or little rock was much nicer. Won't be returning.
Great place to stay on Arran and lovely staff. Really good rooms. Well worth a visit. Food good and nice bar.
Lovely outdoor patio. Whiskey is overpriced. Go to the distillery
We chose this for a girly chat between sister-in-laws and the range of snacks and drinks was perfect. Think it might become a regular (once-a-year) tradition.
Great deal lovely room and a fantastic view! Jolly good :)
Friday night outing. Lovely sail with couple of friends. Dinner at Douglas hotel in Bistro. Sharing platter of whole Brie fab, however main meal arrived and we hadn't finished, a little time between courses would be appreciated. Varied bar with plenty drinks including tra coffee for those not wishing alcohol. Suitable outside area to take in stunning views of Arran. Staff very friendly.
Went for dinner, great service and good food. Gluten free beer on tap! Breakfast for residents only though.
Nice hotel lovely location, bit of an issue with the house keeping
Definitely going to stay here the next visit to Arran. Certainly equal if not better than the Auchrannie although there is no pool. Nevertheless, was given a key to a vacant room and it was fabulous.
Here you can eat well, neat toilets.
Neat prices.
Great stay, great service and great food. Quite a big step into the bath for a shower (Room 204), might be unsuitable for elderly, perhaps another room might be more suitable.
Good food, excellent location. One of only 2 remaining bar/restaurants on the brodick promenade. Both are good, the other being fiddlers, which is slightly smaller and at the opposite end of the promenade to the Douglas and the ferry terminal.
Fantastic comfortable bed, and very clean. Restaurant wasn't cheap but perfectly cooked rib eye steak and comprehensive selection of fine wines. Very friendly staff and excellent service.
Absolutely stunning and immaculate. Room is exactly what you see on the website.
Absolutely loved the place! Arrived on short notice, called from the ferry an hour before and booked the room for a night. The hotel just across the road from the ferry terminal and there is a coop next to it.
Upon arriving the beautiful lady at reception was very friendly and helpful. It was a bit warm so we requested a fan and a jug of cold water which were arranged within minutes. The room was clean and tidy and the view from window was amazing. Really enjoyed the breakfast aswell.
Would definitely stay again! 5/5
The hotel staff, service, food, decour were great. Average price for a great tasting meal. Second visit, no doubt there will be more.
A very nice place the rooms are exquisite the food is divine and the staff are all lovely I would definitely stay their again
Very good food. We ate in the bar in the big bay window with a great view. Good vegetarian choices too, even if as usual the menu was predominantly meaty.
Lovely hotel, well renovated quite pricey but worth it.
We did not stay at the hotel only had dinner in the restaurant. We ate in a beautiful dimly lit environment with a music. When you order the payment, you do it in the bar. Our 6 year old girl loved the ice cream.
Nice hotel
Stayed in room 201 - exec double.
Big spaceous bedroom and bathroom
One small window overlooking sea and the other over the car park.
Flat screen TV with Netflix, tea and coffee making facilities with homemade biscuits - nice.
Large firm bed, comfortable.
Bathroom could have more toiletries in, lighting is too dark to go with the grey decor.
In each bathroom there is a free duck
Room was quiet untill 9.45am when cleaners go into cupboard outside door.
Evening meal (bar meal) started at 5pm, nice but average.
Breakfast in the bistro, hot cooked food if wanted, cold food layed out.
Too cold in the bistro and told staff but nothing was done.
Couple of issues: waitress was unsure of whether tea was served to you or you get it yourself, then forgot cutlery for the cooked food.. so got it off another table.
Would stay again - on the fact we had a quiet room as have seen previous reviews of noise..
Had a wonderful time thank to all the staff especially ciamh and tanya at breakfast. Always made to feel very welcome and the room upgrade was much appreciated. Dawn&Jamie Allan.
Beautiful hotel, breathtaking view and the food was quite simply exceptional. Best salad my SO has ever had and the burger was better than flawless. Thank you !!
Food is fabulous, as are the views. Rooms are large and luxurious
Amazing & friendly staff, great location and top-notch food!
Cosy bar and restaurant with nice garden and view on the bay.
Visited for coffee. Great coffee and nice staff. Sat outside. Great views
Good location. Friendly staff. Nicely presented rooms with comfortable king bed, complimentary tea and local shortbread. Surprisingly no fridge in the room. Inclusive breakfast had a nice selection of Scottish warm grub and self serve continental cold items. Room service/bistro food bit pricey but tasty nonetheless.
We absolutely loved our stay at The Douglas! The hotel staff made us feel so welcome and special and had excellent recommendations for things to do/see around the island. The location couldn't be any more convenient just a couple minute walk (even luggage-laden) from the ferry terminal and buses, and just down the street from the charming local shops and restaurants. The food at the Douglas was also wonderful, and the more casual bar/dining area has unbeatable views of the water. The rooms were comfy and stylish, and they even give you a cute rubber ducky to take with you on your travels! All around, A+ experience. Highly recommended!
Amazing hotel, 2 mins walk from the port. Very clean, quiet and modern room. Extremely comfy bed. All scotchs from Arran distillery can be found in the bar as in the picture. Breakfast was delicious, gotta have the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Also they give you a free black duck toy :)
great location on the island, close to ferry, bedrooms spacious, very good bar food and drinks selection
