Fabulous, got stranded as the ferry got cancelled. They put us up at short notice we had amazing rooms and views. Staff could not have been better. Food also excellent thanks so much for helping us out.

Room was noisy when we first checked in. Avoid rooms over the bistro or bar to avoid noise. Service was incredibly slow in the bistro for dinner. However our room and bathroom was spacious and well decorated.

As a last minute booking, on the day, got the last two rooms, next-door to one another. Fabulous rooms, on the ground floor, had a shared patio. Had a private exit gate, right at the carpark. Food was very good. Wonderful hotel and staff very courteous. Only quibble, we were at the back with no view, but the fabulous rooms made up for that.

Recently on our trip to Arran all the ferries home were cancelled so we checked into this hotel near the harbour for the night. A truly beautiful hotel, our rate included dinner, bed and breakfast (although breakfast started too late 07:30 for us to get it!) and was fairly reasonable. Our room was lovely and huge, there was an awesome bath with great Arran Aromatics products. Dinner was lovely, hubbie had steak and I had duck. Made our unexpected night turn into a real treat!

Beautiful location great views. Beds were amazing bathroom great only problem was the hotel room walls were so thin you could hear everything going on you could hear the television and conversation in some else's room also we were awakened extremely late at night by a loud thud and people being hashy bashy in the hall way what we found out the next morning was an ambulance crew was taking another guest out his room as he slipped in the bathroom while intoxicated.

Would have rated higher if I couldn't hear everything as I am a light sleeper.

Went to dinner at the bistro. Very good food. Excellent service and attention to drinks and food. The food and drinks were very affordable. I got a delicious seafood dish and would order it again in a heartbeat!

We dropped in to have some dinner in Brodick as all else seemed closed. The service was professional and friendly. Our good arrived within 20 minutes and it was fresh and hot.
My only grievance with the place has nothing to do with the place itself. Some of the patrons were unruly as I believe there was some sporting event happening on the television on the other side of the bar and some of the other patrons around us who came in for some peaceful dining found it a bit frustrating.
Not giving it 5 stars since I believe my food was a bit overpriced. Granted it was for the experience I was paying, but the rowdy crowd in the adjacent room tips the balance.

Lovely compact hotel. Full of character in splendid setting of Brodick Bay with views of Goat Fell and the Sleeping Warrior.
A jewel in the Isle of Arran's crown.
Excellent bistro food. Cosy +++.
Highly recommended.
For those contemplating a Scottish visit - Arran is a must.

As ever a fabulous few days away on beautiful Arran made even more special by staying at the Douglas Hotel. The rooms are spacious and modern clean and comfortable. Compliments to the warm and friendly staff for nothing was too much trouble. Not forgetting the chefs who provided excellent food at every meal. Perfect thank you.

Another lovely spot on Arran. This place is the grand building across from the ferry port. The bar is lovely (the bistro was closed mid afternoon) and the food more than matched it. We would come here just for a drink in a lovely setting too but the food is so good we'd end up eating too...

Ecellent hotel very comfortable. Only small downside bar a bit loud for me but that might be a age thing! Get a room at the back if you need to be away from the bar. No view of sea but you have all day to take in the sea view so don't need the view to sleep!

Completely disappointing! The burger and fries came on a thin block of wood which made eating it very difficult. The portion sizes were tiny. Food was tasty (what there was).
Thought a nice hotel on Arran would be more upmarket than having people dining in their sportswear. Dogs being allowed in the area people eat is unsanitary.
Definitely gone downhill from out last visit.

Really good dinner and staff were great!

Although should offer breakfast to non-residents. Little Rock cafe was packed sat and sun morning - missing a trick!
