Went there once with coworkers and the food was excellent. Just went there by myself and they refused to seat me. I asked for a seat outside, which I had already seen was at half capacity. I was told that they would need to clean off a table for me. I waited 15 minutes. In that 15 minutes I watched a man enter by himself and ask to be seated outside and was taken outside and seated immediately. I then watched two women come in and asked to be seated outside and was seated immediately. Then another lone woman came in and was immediately seated outside. All of this was done in my face as I stood and watched this process. I'm trying to not say that race was involved but I'm Black and everyone who was seated was European-American. I will NEVER patronize this establishment again.

Cool spot in a nice area. Great decors and general ambiance. The food was good but not memorable. I had the coq au vin that had way too much going on for my taste - heavy in other words. Had a bite of the burger as well which was quite average. I'd go back but for a drink only or lunch.

The fall/seasonal drinks are fantastic! The crab cakes were average. The tarte flambee was really good. I ate at the bar on a slow Sunday and the bartenders were unfriendly and unwelcoming; it made me not want to return.

My family and I came her for my sisters birthday and the food was good!! However, the bartenders and manager were quite nasty and disrespectful. My cousin went to the bar and ordered drinks and 2 half bottles of champagne for our table. After she asked for tab several times, the bartender gives her a dirty look and his co-worker reminds him that she's waiting on her tab. When she finally gets the tab, the bartender says "are you sure you can afford this?" How disrespectful and very offensive!! I don't care how he meant it, you shoud never come out of your mouth to anyone and say that!!. We were charged for both bottles of the champagne and only got one, I was charged for some dirn cheddar that wasn't even on my burger. They refused to separate our checks because they were just being lazy so we sat there for another half of an hour trying to figure out what meal belongs to who. When we were done the manager comes to the table to take our cards and hands it to the waitress with attitude and basically throwing his arm toward her saying "Here". One of the waitresses comes back and says "Hey ladies, we are missing $4.25". No problem! My cousin gives the lady the remainder of what's missing. But once again if they would have just separated the checks, it would not have been a problem. We get up to leave and the bartender says, "Ladies we are missing $0.25 from the bill. REALLY????????????? why is our check being handed to everyone that works here and each time a different amount of money is missing from the bill?????? I will NEVER come back to this place. The people are rude and disrespectful. We had every reason to go off in this place because of how we were treated but don't nobody have time for ignorant people.

Very high prices, not sure that it's worth it. My friend ordered some meat to be cooked medium 2x and both times it was rare. The staff was attentive and apologetic but that chef really dropped the ball.

Not sure if I'll be back there. 2x isn't a mistake.

Great food and drinks. But after spending $231 on drinks and appetizers, no real food, we paid and within a few minutes the manager asked us to leave as another group was waiting for 10 minutes. What the hell is that about? Don't pay if you aren't ready to leave immediately.

WOW. Now this place is GREAT! Some really special & unique menu options along with some usual fare... If I had a reserved 6th star to use once, I'd give it for the service as well as the food. The food is excellent and the service was that kind of unusually good you take notice. I'll be back in DC eventually, and I'm coming back to DBGB. Is there one in Chicago??

Underwhelming menu, stiff and unwelcoming service. Decor is fine if you can get over the disappointment on the plate in front of you. There are too many other great restaurants in DC for this to qualify as good, so it's an overall "okay."

Food and drinks are really great here! 3 stars because of the bartender who we ordered drinks from. We ordered 3 cocktails and he made a face and told us, "You know these will take a long time to make!" That attitude shouldn't be serving people.

I ordered the chef recommendation for the day "pork loin roast salad" following our waitress suggestion. The plate looked very nice but the pork was only fat without any meat at all. I informed about this to the waitress but her response was that it is how the pork loin should be. But it does not make sense to me a well pork loin roast should be a fairly lean cut. In addition, the waitress attitude was not the best. She did not take well my complaint and was making faces after that.

Needed a drink after a days visiting your amazing museums. After a very good couple of wines and then and afternoon kip. Ready to hit the town again. Just hanging now to have a great dinner somewhere.

Great food and service and very nicely decorated. For the quality of the food and experience, I think the prices are pretty reasonable too.

I've been a here a few times now and while everything is top notch, the dessert is simply on another level. I've had the chocolate mousse and ice cream.

Food was excellent. Service was impeccable even though the restaurant was busy after women's march. Hostess (aria) and waitress (lauren) were especially nice. Highly suggest eating at this great establishment.

Super duper fast service. We went on a Saturday night and the service was really fast. We had kale, octopus, and coq au vin, all very good. We ordered baked Alaska and it came out in 5 minutes. I'm glad I tried it, but not sure if I'll eat it again. They have good cocktail, and drink list, and again fast service. I

Stopped in with a colleague and we had a light meal at the bar, as we didn't have a reservation. Conveniently located near the convention center, shopping and the Portrait Museum, it was perfect. Sitting at the bar is fun - we experimented a bit with a cocktail based on what we liked and the recommendation of the mixologist. The bar was attractive. We ordered the charcuterie plate and an arugula salad to share. The plate was generous, beautifully done and delicious. The salad was fresh and a nice compliment. We finished with the cappachino sundae. It was just the right amount of well presented and tasty food in a pleasant and engaging environment. The price was reasonable too!

A Mediocre experience would have blown this unfortunate & terrible experience out of the water! Thats how bad this was... Just warm bodies floating in the restaurant as below mediocre order takers, a complete miss on the service and the food itself wasn't anything to rave avout either. Terrible at best. So disappointing!

I traveled to DC to visit some friends and we had dinner here. I ordered the duck and believe me, it was wonderful. I think this may be one of my favorite dishes ever. Alcoholic beverages selection was also great. A must go if you visit DC.

We went for brunch. Nice variety of options available. The pastries were fantastic. My wife's eggs were not prepared how she asked, but they quickly remedied the situation. Service was a little slow, but it was a busy day.

Excellent service and excellent food. They had a large variety of craft beers, and a huge wine selection. (This place is a little pricier than the average place, but you get what you pay for). We ordered the cheese plate, and the frenchie hamburger. Both were done very well.

Not the cheapest lunch I've ever had, but one of the best. The scallops were genuinely magical, and the cocktail list was short but imaginative. My only complaint is that they didn't have more on it, given how brilliant their selections were I could've happily passed a day working through a full cocktail menu.

Excellent place to enjoy some of the French cuisine, it has a very nice terrace and the service is excellent, always waiting for your drinks and that nothing is missing from the table, they also had the detail of giving a delicious dessert to my partner, who was birthday. They also offer happy hour every day with varied products. I loved it.

The service was fantastic and I really enjoyed the atmosphere, but for the price I was quite underwhelmed by the food. Draft beers averaged out to about $11, and the burger had a certain flavor that I felt I powered through more than enjoyed.

The fries were delicious though; crunchy and well seasoned.

If the opportunity arose I may drop by here again, I may find their other choices to be a better fit.

Spotty food, spotty service. Unseasoned fries with the steak (steak was very good, so why spoil it?) and needed to ask for salt. Service was on the slow side. Expect to wait 10 minutes for a menu, and 20 minutes between courses.... Even desert/coffee. Lucky I only needed to wait 10 mins with an empty wine glass before waitress came around. But water service was spot on.... They got stuff done. One other couple left before they even got food it was that poor....

A Michelin guide French restaurant. Price is pretty affordable and the taste of the foods are just as delicious as a Michelin restaurant! Start with free bread which is tasty. For appetizers we tried beef tartare and escargot, both are the best. They have the softest sausage I have ever seen, the baked Alaska is very special and the combination of different flavors is fantastic!

Went for a Xmas party so was pretty large group . Scallops were cooked perfectly, but were way too salty.
Carpaccio meat was flavorless and way overpowered by the garnishes.
Disappointed. But will give it another try sometime during regular dining hours.

Went here for a dinner with group of 6ppl on Tuesday evening. We were able to get the table right away. Place looks very nice, modern design with bit of "old fashion" look: I couldn't keep my eyes off that rooster image on the wall-- really cool service is really nice, our waiter was available for us all the time. They also send us a person who helped us to choose wine from the menu based on our needs. Their menu contains individual dishes as well as shareable ones. They even brought out the 40oz steak from shareable menu(115$) to show us what our order would look like if were to get that(we didn't end up doing that). Super nice cut btw... While my friends enjoyed wine, I ordered a cocktail-- white cosmo... Definitely a recommend. Tastes amazing and looks mesmerizing with frozen flower ice in the middle. Was fun to drink. I also want to note that we were provided with baguette and some butter while we waited for our orders to arrive. I ordered Singaporean duck.. Want to tell you that rice was magnificent. Tasted incredible. Duck was fine, bit too thick cuts for me, but tasted great. We had also lamb, that my friend ordered and expressed liking it as well. 3 ppl ordered steak(individual ones) and I wanted to say that while this is fancy-ish looking place.. Those plates looked like from a bar next door dishes. Fries were not that great and like I said for the price for it, those dishes didn't stand up to it. It was bit disappointing. In the end we had dessert and tea/coffee.. Desserts looked amazing and tasted amazing. Overall we had fun and want to let you know it wasn't cheap either. It is a nice place to dine in for business meetings, to have fancy date night or for a quiet atmosphere vibes.

I really wanted to love this place. It's gorgeous, and was packed on a night where everything else was empty. But the service was completely botched. I didn't get the wine I ordered at all, with no one around to ask about it until food showed up. I also didn't get meal I ordered, but didn't want to keep waiting. They supposedly pride themselves in their sausages but it was tiny and in a HUGE bun. You couldn't even taste the sausage. My friends were happy with desserts they ordered so that's good. The waiter then offered another dessert to make up for the botched service, and got sort of pushy when I pointed out we had just had dessert. Frustrating.

Here for a special event upstairs. I was very impressed with the bites that came out. To a one reach was hot, very well done and makes me want to go back for a full meal. The cocktails were also well crafted.

Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz

Great ambiance, great food and great hospitality! We were immediately greeted as soon as we sat at the bar. The waitress provided us with a great Happy Hour menu, so we didn t have to ask. The drinks were interesting... I had a cocktail that was a fresh take on an old fashioned but sweeter. And their tuna tartare!! After that we shared a die for apple pie.

Great job everyone!

This restaurant was outstanding. The atmosphere of this restaurant was very classy. The place is small but there is a bar that is surrounded by twinkly lights creating a cozzy vibe to it. The food was mouth watering. I ordered salmon and it was cooked perfectly. The salmon had crushed potato's along side of it and the flavors mixed so well. The service at this restaurant was amazing! The waiter checked on you every so often and refilled your water, the waiter was extremely friendly as well. If you are looking for a romantic, classy restaurant, this one is a must go too!

WHAT To Expect: DC-stylish (vs. its big bro resto in NYC) french bistro from lauded chef Daniel Boulud.
WHY You Should Go: This resto presents a solidly good French dining experience, draped in the dark wood and shiny metal accents that you come to expect on the DC dining circuit (good or bad?). Expect a lively noise level and after-work suits at the bar. Highlights include the Tuna crudo; Crab persillade; Salmon; and Truite au Lardo. Surprisingly, the Boudin Blanc was less memorable. Good, stylish presentation, and attentive service.
WHEN You Should Go: as a "DC Date Night", or perhaps pre-Theatre dining. After your meal, enjoy a quick walk around the new-ish City Centre complex to marvel at the water-walk effects, and floor-to-sky digital "hologram-walls".

Not at all what I'd expect of a Daniel Boulud restaurant...and not in a good way. Orders were gotten wrong, forgotten, wobbly table not fixed, ladies room was dirty and only one light was functioning leaving one stall totally dark. The one dish that did make it to the table was unimpressive. Daniel, you need to check in and fix this spot. It doesn't live up to your reputation.

Food was average.

Food was average.
The service needs vast improvement.
We sat at the bar and the bartender was very unfriendly and obviously not happy to be there.
We had to sit and listen to him complain to what we assumed was a manager and air out all the restaurants dirty laundry and also raise his voice to other employees.
This made for a very uncomfortable dining experience.

Not sure I would return at these prices I expect much better.

Good lunch. The Frenchie burger is excellent. So is the Mint Profiterole dessert. Service is great too. Only thing that doesn't shine through is the coffee... which would have made the pairing with the dessert stand out even more.

I used to like this spot, primarily because of the location. But this past weekend, I ordered the salmon, got terrible food poisoning and spent a night in the hospital ER because of it.

My friend ordered the mussels I think and had to send them back because they seemed undercooked. Proceed with caution.

Came for brunch with three others. Food and service was great! Decor was brasserie like and the place wasn't packed at any point in our 2 1/2 hour stay. Decent enough beer selection and brunch menu was pretty good. The space could accommodate a good number of people and is nicely located in the new City Center complex. Coming back.

For a DB establishment, to be honest, I was a bit disappointed.

Place is nice (but AC is blowing right on your head, they put some deflectors, it was fun to see that), it has a patio, nice furniture, calm, etc...

The food however was just ok in my opinion, hence my disappointment.

Schnitzel was WAY too thick and greasy, croque monsieur had way too much ham, pasta carbonara didn't have meat (I'm fine with that) but was really salty. The cold soup was ok, but I could not finish it as the vinegar taste was too strong.
The food was overall very salty I found.
The beignets at the end at the doggy bag is a nice idea, but I wish they had at least 2 options rather than imposing the dessert on you.

It is reasonably priced (I went for lunch), considering the place and location, but I personally think that they can do way better by twitching just a bit the recipes and from average-good, become excellent without increasing their prices.

Service was ok, not too intrusive, French/European Style as expected.
