I needed a greeting card for a colleague who was retiring. Although a card is not that important, I was glad to find a unique one here at a price that barely covers the materials and the work. Furthermore it turned out there are many things that might catch your eye.
My consultation with Jill was comfortable and supportive. She was helpful, but not pushy; a good listener, yet forthcoming with suggestions when asked. I highly recommend Jill and the owner (Lindsay) for your wedding invitations. They do not promote their most expensive products, but instead help you find what you want.
We used Dandelion Patch for all of the paper for our wedding from save the dates to invitations to day-of materials, and I simply cannot say enough good things about them! From the first time we met, Jill was so helpful and extremely knowledgeable about timelines, etiquette, design, and more. I felt very clueless coming into the wedding planning process and Jill immediately put me at ease! I had only a few ideas about what I wanted and do not consider myself artistic at all, but Jill was able to run with my ideas and turn them into magic. I also used watercolors made by my mother-in-law for both our save the dates and reception centerpieces and Jill was so flexible about weaving this art into her own. Jill was able to incorporate things that were very meaningful to my husband and me (e.g. a DC map as the invitation envelope liner) and we got tons of compliments from guests. I was absolutely in love with everything Jill designed and can truly say that our save the dates, invitations, and various day-of paper products (welcome sign, table numbers, escort cards, programs, signage, etc.) were one of my favorite parts of our entire wedding process! Jill and Lindsay are both such a joy to work with - warm, professional, reliable, and amazing at what they do. They were extremely patient with my feedback and seemingly endless questions throughout months of planning and I am forever grateful. I always knew I was in good hands with them and I would highly recommend Dandelion Patch to anyone!
To preface this review, we worked with the Dandelion Patch in Reston (which recently closed), but all the stores in this area share the same owner and management.
We had over 300 invites and the consultants were great to work with and very professional. Their customer service was phenomenal in the beginning, but it clearly did not last nor come from the top down as we left extremely disappointed with TERRIBLE customer service by the owner by the end of our experience.
It all started when we first were quoted about $600 to have our guests' addresses printed on all of our invite envelopes. Our order was already very pricey and we decided that my wife could hand address all of the envelopes to save some money. Although we were working under a rather tight deadline, we decided that it simply wasn't worth it. Since my wife was designing the invites herself, she was constantly reminded of our tight deadline so she was quick and got the designs to the Dandelion Patch so they could get them to the supplier for production.
We paid for the order in full when the designs were submitted for production and were told that our invites should ship within 7-10 business days. With the tight deadline, my wife repeatedly called to inquire and the Dandelion Patch had no updates. Finally, after about 12 days with no news, she contacted the supplier directly and was told that there was an "owner delay" as they had not received payment from the Dandelion Patch. When all was said and done, our invites were a full week late costing us valuable time because the owner had not paid the supplier.
We got in touch with the Dandelion Patch and confronted them about the issue. They were very apologetic and we understand that mistakes may happen. However, we were spending several thousand dollars at their store and expected some sort of action to rectify the issue. I spoke with one of the consultants and asked if there was anything they could do for us with the address printing since our invites were a week late because of them (and likely would have been more than a week late had my wife not taken it upon herself to contact the supplier). It would help us make up some of the wasted time and get our invites out sooner.
The consultant said she would speak with the owner, Heidi, and let me know. When the consultant called me back I expected that they would offer to cover the address printing at no charge... Instead they offered a 25% discount on the address printing which would still cost us $450. It was somewhat insulting since we had already decided against the service due to cost but needed it because of their mistake. I politely declined stating that it was still too much.
The consultant must have spoken with Heidi again because she called me back and said "I spoke with our owner and she really wants to make this right..." I was thinking to myself, "Finally, they'll agree to cover the cost of the printing to help us speed up getting our invites out." Much to my dismay, the consultant finished her statement by saying, "We can offer a 40% discount." I couldn't believe it... This was still $360 that they wanted us to pay because of their mistake!
In the end, we declined the service and my wife hand wrote all of the addresses as quickly as she could to get the invites in the mail.
Believing we should give them one more chance to make it right and acknowledge the issue, my wife wrote an email explaining our ordeal and voicing our dissatisfaction. The email went unanswered and we received no reply.
Again, very disappointed with the AWFUL customer service. Would strongly recommend searching elsewhere for your invitation needs.
I worked with Allison for my wedding invitations, she listened to what my wants and needs were and made great recommendations that made the design and proofing process simple and stress free. During my appointment, the owner Lindsay came out and introduced herself and made me feel so welcomed. The invitations arrived on time and they look gorgeous!
We have loved working with the Cathy and Becca from the Dandelion Patch for our wedding invitations, programs, escort cards, and menus. All of our wedding items turned out beautifully and are very high quality. Yes, it may seem expensive but once you receive the items that you order from them, it is worth every penny that you pay. Not only that, but we have received so many compliments on our wedding invitations from the quality of the paper used, the feel, and the design. If you are looking for a wedding invitation or day of wedding items vendor, this is the place for you and be sure to request either Cathy and Becca because they truly are fantastic to work with. Just a heads up that if you are wanting to work with Dandelion Patch in Northern VA, they aren't on Church Street anymore. Their new location is on Tyco Road in McLean.
I love The Dandelion Patch. I've worked with Allison on invitations and stationery and would highly recommend her. She was able to listen to my vision and then make suggestions that I could see in the store. We then went back and forth on the proofing process which allowed me to make some final tweaks. I am order my baby announcements from them shortly.
I worked with Allison as well as other members of the team and it was great. Allison was able to understand all my needs and wants and bring them to life! The pricing was very reasonable and service was outstanding! I definitely recommend!
We used Dandelion Patch for all of our wedding paper and could not have been happier with the final products! Everyone who works at Dandelion Patch is very helpful, responsive, professional and creative. They were flexible and helped us to bring our vision to life. Dandelion Patch did our wedding invitation suite, escort cards, programs, menus, table numbers and thank you cards and they all turned out perfectly. They were able to help us create a cohesive look throughout all of the products and produced a beautiful final product. I would highly recommend for wedding (or any other) paper needs!
The dandelion patch was the best for our wedding invites! I was very late deciding what I wanted to do for all of our "day of" paper needs, and they were able to get all of our last minute placecards and table numbers done with very little notice from me. Jill was on top of it and very responsive. She made it very easy when selecting an invitation suite and helped us with word choice as well. Thank you, ladies! <3
I worked with Jill on our invitations and I had no idea what I was looking for on our first visit! I brought my dad with me and Jill waked is through all of the options. She was so patient with all of our questions, and was amazing throughout the entire proofing process. When we got our first proof, I literally had goosebumps. Once we got our invitations and addressed envelopes, I realized that I had made a major mistake and somehow messed up half of the zip codes on the list I sent to Jill! Her and Lindsey, the owner, were so quick to respond and fix MY mistake without any question! I was already in a time crunch, and their responsiveness wowed me!
Our invitations were so incredibly beautiful, everyone is still commenting on how much they love them! I would absolutely recommend the Dandelion Patch to anyone looking to have a memorable and completely beautifully personalized wedding invitation!
Dandelion Patch is a terrific stationery store. They have a great selection and staff. The team is very friendly and knowledgeable. Jill is very responsive and easy to work with.
