Food, service, drinks, all fantastic. I have shaved one star off because as much as they can't control the weather, they could do better to ventilate the building as it was far too warm tonight. I will visit again, but maybe when it's a cooler. The salmon was delicious.

So disapointing dinner experience last night.

So disapointing dinner experience last night.
No nice greeting or offer to take coats, straight to table.
Left too long as we wanted pre meal drinks.
Food was good even though our steaks were given to us the wrong way round.

We have always loved going here but its left a sour note as it almost felt like the same service you would get having a meal in a pub

This is five star place, great atmosphere and sophisticated dinning experience. The food was very good. I had rib eye steak which was excellent. The bar area is upstairs which is often very busy, unfortunately we were ignored by the bar staff on arrival. There is table service, but I had to go to the bar to get served.
Downstairs is the main dinning area, the tables for two are close together so it's difficult to have a private conversation or not overhear others. Larger groups are served in round booths.
The staff are very busy and as such fake friendliness rather than being genuine.
The coffee is cool so we sent them back for hotter ones.
At the end of the meal, we were presented with the wrong bill but being honest we advised the head waiter, who changed it for our much more expensive bill adding the phrase "that's better". For you maybe but not for us, no apology
Its worth a try if you can afford it, but they are perhaps a few to many covers for the number of staff.

Having booked over the phone as a surprise Christmas meal for my parter, who will be working in the community as a care worker over Christmas. Found our booking wasn t registered and restaurant wasn t open for lunch. Felt totally let down and disappointments. Thank goodness Brassiere Blanc were able to accommodate at short notice.

Old art deco cinema with it's kitchen where the screen was. Large circular tables, great for groups. Bar and more tables up stairs with overlooking balcony. A beautifully restored building making for a very pleasant dinning experience. Food was perfect and service was good. A had a Lovelly night!

Visited with my wife for our anniversary, lovely restaurant in a beautifully converted old cinema, decorated in a art deco fashion.

The restaurant has a very nice relaxed vibe, separate bar area is away from the eating area, which is very nice and keeps the noise away from the eating area.

The food was fantastic, as were the cocktails.

I would highly recommend

We were very lucky to have been recommended the daffodil. Loved the open kitchen where the cinema screen would have been. Such a jazzy, chilled atmosphere in which we had delicious and beautifully presented food. Was relatively expensive but very good value for money. We were treated to a "Birthday Scoop" (a free ice cream and firework candle) for my sister's birthday.

This is a converted cinema and it has been maintained in its original style although the facilities have been modernised.

The staff are friendly and welcoming and very helpful although very busy when we visited . The facilities are well maintained and clean.

The menu is extensive and well prepared and presented and tasty and there is a good range of drinks; both alcoholic and non alcoholic.

Recommended.

Poor service and not even busy. Asked several times for water. Pots of tea weak, like they were using the same team bags and just filling with hot water. Cold while sat there having afternoon tea. Wanted to sit there with my coat on. Overall not a good experience for my first time visiting the daffodil and more than likely my last.

Very atmospheric converted cinema. The balcony is the bar. Retains old Art Deco features. Gorgeous tasting menu. Chateaubriand highly recommended. Probably my favourite restaurant. Busy and good for a crowd .

Birthday celebration with family. Ambience of a 1920s Art Deco era, staff first class, the Theatre Menu a 3 course gorgeous creation was immaculately presented and served at the table. We are sure to return. Thanks.

Really disappointed with The Daffodil's complete lack of customer service and general manners.

The hoity toity restaurant manager, Julie did a great job of making our whole group feel unwelcome.

At no point were we a rude, vulgar or distasteful hen party - however we were rushed through our meal, made to feel uncomfortable (they also cleared our plates away well before one lady had even got half way through her meal, cutlery was dirty).

May I suggest that you don't put a hen party right in the middle of the restaurant, or you stop taking group bookings if you don't like a bit of noise.

No air conditioning and so was very hot and stuffy. Afternoon Tea served with black tea as they didn't have any milk and they had to go and buy some. Food was nice but service was very poor

Went for a birthday meal. Food is good, the lamb dish was the standout meal. But, for the price, more has to be expected. The steak and pork belly were very average, and the service, again, was average. A shame, as the venue looks stunning, but little attentions to detail need to be tightened when paying high end prices, as you are then scrutinised as such.

Brilliant venue, friendly and efficient staff, fresh and local ingredients and near perfect preparation.
Daffodil Mondays with live jazz should be in your diary to cure the Monday blues!
Also - amazing cocktails at the upstairs bar. (Tip ask for the bartender specials.).

Lovely cocktail (try the Cosmopolitan); lovely service; lovely food. What a treat! Just the ticket (pun intended for a nod to the building's cinematic background) for a wonderful evening!

Went to first night of the Cheltenham Jazz festival, the food was simply unacceptable. A shot of not-particularly-nice cold soup which was classed as one of the three courses! Need I say any more. Such a shame, used to love this place years ago, this was first time back after 5 years. Won't be going again.

A wonderful meal in a beautiful building. Food was exquisite, staff were very friendly and helpful. It was quite busy (although we were told it was normal for a Saturday night) but food came quickly and was perfectly cooked.

Wonderful place, an old art-deco theatre so very atmospheric. Food was really good (I would quite happily have eaten an extra plate of their roasties) and the staff were really nice and accomodating. The only drawback? It's opening hours are quite short, so check them before embarking!

I expected much more from a restaurant with a Michelin star.
Walk in, beautiful decor, no one takes your coat, hang it on the back of your chair, no table cloths, very noisy and boomy.

The staff were pleasant & friendly, but it felt like an expensive TGI Fridays, customers wearing jeans and trainers, I expected much, much better.

Dim lighting and a menu printed in a tiny serif font, hard to read.

Ordered cocktails & water, bottle of tepid water delivered, with. glasses, no ice, not poured, DIY.

1.5 hrs between ordering and main course, have to keep asking for service, to place food and drink orders, feel forgotten.

Shared the bite sized desert, very, very average, ice cream/sorbet parts had melted on the plate before it arrived, it included flame torched halves of (hard, unripe) pineapple with the stork left in - how do you cut it without a knife (not provided).

Bill arrives with two drinks we didn't order - lucky we checked. But they didn't forget to add the 12.5% service tip. Decor is beautiful, but not intimate, grand piano on a raised platform, hoped I would hear it, but instead rock music was playing. Beautiful setting, could have been so much better.

Absolutely superb restaurant. Amazing food, great attentive staff and lovely decor. Scallops starter with Belly Pork main and a selection of mini desserts was possibly one of the nicest meals I've had. Would definitely recommend and would love to go back.

The first time I came, it was a wonderful experience, on the mezzanine with great service. Came back and stuck under the stairs next to the server's station. Poor service and zero ambience, it would be like going to a hotel and being stuck in the cleaning cupboard and our waiter has hardly been present. Food is nice

Lunch on Saturday enjoying great ambience with the gorgeous Kim Cypher Quartet. The service was impeccable with very friendly staff. Will come back on a Monday night for another experience.

Nice environment and decor, food is alright. Our waiter Richard was terrible, very unprofessional, my friend didn't finish her duck, he demanded to know why and performed an autopsy on the remains in front of us. A drink was split over another friends jeans, the drink was replaced but no further compensation was offered. The worse was when they added service charge the bill.

Thank you for a thunderously unpleasant experience. I'd like to praise your professionalism, dedication and rigour, but baby Jesus doesn't like liars, so I'll merely settle for saying that it's been bottom-achingly annoying to have to spend my evening covered in cheap Bellini.
Thank you however for your kind generosity in bringing me another one, for FREE! You did however spill the entire contents of the glass on my jeans.

Had you run out of freshly polished silverware? I did appreciate you taking the time to wipe the sticky mess off my cutlery with your infested dishcloth.

Id like to make a special thank you to richard and his abrasive personal manner. It really made my day - the human sand paper that you really are. Did you have pleasure in fumbling through the overcooked duck on my girlfriends plate whilst demanding her opinion of it? (Just for the record, she was being polite by claiming she was full). Your impressive lack of professionalism is only matched by your dedication to retrieve an answer from her.

I've had better customer service from a builders merchants that accidentally set my car in cement, before setting it on fire.

With inconceivable amounts of irritation, I bid you, fair well.

Au revoir, dear friend.

The Daffodil used to be my favourite restaurant in the local area. However since the re-opening, it has gone downhill considerably. One of the things I used to love about the place was the excellent customer service, but the management team have destroyed this now. I have lost count of the numerous phone calls and emails I have made to them which they have ignored completely. (It would have taken someone just a minute to acknowledge my question, even if they couldn't answer it straight away. I would have more respect for that, than being rudely disregarded every time). The food the last time I visited was quite nice, but I won't be dining there again based on the lack of care they now show customers.

Beautiful restaurant with nice staff and good beef plates. Kamil our waiter was very helpful as we were unsure about the different cuts of beef and the wine. The service was excellent.

Menu is a bit pricey but they have different offers durings the week, in our case beef on Thursday which gas a very good deal for a delicious dinner and tasty white wine. The stakes were a bit undercooked though and the fries were served on a cup which I believe does not fit the restaurant at all. Also the wine glasses were not properly washed.

Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend anyone to at least try it once, specially if they happen to have live music.

Great and warm welcoming feeling. The ambient is dominated by a big piano and the view on the kitchen. The staff is very attentive and flexible. Service has been one of the top with amazing food sourced locally (the beef is sourced by a local butcher). Absolutely loved the quality and the display of the food.
