Sunday lunch, bottomless wine or processco - absolutely perfect! The beef was beautiful, the wine was good and the service great. Unbelievable value with no corners cut. I would highly recommend this for any occasion. Just make sure you book a taxi home!

We went for Sunday Lunch. The service was excellent from the moment we arrived to sorting out a taxi when we left. The food was delicious and beautifully presented and all the house wines were very drinkable. Top tip - if you go for the Sunday Lunch get a taxi home

Lovely sympathetic conversion of a thirties picture house into an upmarket restaurant somehow transporting you into the deep south. We just called in for coffee and a scone which were both excellent.

Good, if not as good as it used to be. The piped music slightly kills the atmosphere, and the menu is slightly more limited. But still a beautiful building and good for an occasion, especially the Monday jazz nights.

Myself and Partner came here for the first time on Saturday evening. Now I will start by saying that I had certain dietary requirements and they could nit do enough to accommodate this and the waitress really was very friendly and polite. That's where the good bit ends, its much smaller than expected and you really are sat on top of one another which isn't great for a romantic meal out having couples so close either side of you. We both ordered sirloin steak and I cannot begin to describe what was inside mine it was rubbery, fatty park that was burrowed into the rest of the steak it was awful completely put me off eating anymore . My partner didn't find anything in his but didn't eat much of it as incredibly fatty. We certainly wouldn't visit again and certainly wouldn't class it has one of the more upmarket places to eat other than price.

Would appreciate not having to ask for knives and plates at afternoon tea then have to ask for napkins as they were overlooked too. Told them on the way in we were celebrating two birthdays but no acknowledgements were made . I did not expect much but the waiters attention to detail would be nice. Milk served in a tea pot as no jugs left.
Overall my second experience of bad service. Dissapointed.

If trying to organise any group event here forget it, the company is full of broken promises, never returning of phone calls, disgusting customer service on the phone, being told "I shouldn't have bothered ringing as the events co-coordinator was organising a wedding all day" (This is after being told in the morning that she was in one meeting then free all day so would ring me back as soon as she was out of the meeting).

7 e-mails and circa 12 phone calls and I couldn't get this venue booked with 2 months notice.

Haven't eaten there, never will, I don't trust the customer service after their inabilities on the phone.

Perfect birthday meal. I went for my birthday and the service could not have been better. The food was devine, absolutely faultless, and I would say the same for the cocktails. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion.

I took my partner here last week and I got to say it was excellent.
She is vegan and I am vegetarian. We was catered for and nothing was to much to ask.
The food was outstanding. Arrived with good timing between each course. The staff were fantadtic. The cocktails were fantastic.
The whole experience was excellent. I have booked another table to go back.
I rate The Daffodil 10/10.
Very mixed reviews on here. My advice is to try it for yourself if your a new customer.
We all can't be pleased with everything due to us all having different taste and opinions.

We went for afternoon tea there and I have had better elsewhere. I wouldn t recommend it

Afternoon tea seems to be the shift between lunch end and preparing for dinner, so the staff are quite busy and perhaps less attentive than during a meal. Hence the long wait before anyone introduced themselves as a waiter (polite and informative waiter) and why when you get your food they seem to forget you exist.
Then there is the food, great cup of tea but stale food. The filling was great, but the bread was stale and dry. Worse was the scone which literally absorbed all the water out of my body, it was awful, either stale or a really bad bake. The remaining cakes were ok.
It was meant to be a festive afternoon tea, my Christmas cracker must have come from some cheap supplier.
So disappointing. And I m being generous with the two, only because the front of house staff were great when you got there attention. And some live music.

I had a fantastic 50th birthday dinner, had great service, all in a lovely setting.

What a change from a few years ago!! Food quality and surroundings are lovely. Menu prices have been re addressed and more appealing. I only went for afternoon tea and loved every moment. Going back very soon. Thanks.

Have been using the daffodil for many years. There have been a few issues in the past. However always dealt with well and that is why we continue to return. We use the daffodil for a few different occasions. Birthdays and romantic meals for 2 and for a quick drink after work. Always a relaxing atmosphere. Service is excellent. Food is great.

I've eaten and enjoyed drinks here on a number of occasions. It's a very unique venue for Cheltenham, with a lovely Art Deco exterior and polished interior. The food is good modern British. The service can at times be a little lacklustre, especially given the price point. Saturday lunchtime and Monday evenings are good times to go to enjoy the live music. The cocktail bar upstairs is also a great place just to go for a drink. All in all, this is a classy establishment in a lovely part of Cheltenham.

Have only been here about 4-5 times, but only when The Daffodil was the venue for some of the gigs as part of the 6-day Cheltenham Jazz Festival. A cocktail is served upstairs at the atmospheric bar followed by a set 3-course dinner downstairs whilst the very accomplished house band play standard jazz fare. The service is impeccable given the tight schedule of getting the diners finished in time for the 2130 main jazz event. The wine list is so-so, standard supermarket wines at reasonable markups. And the food there are some BRILLIANT eateries on the same road and for a better wine list and 2* food, Le C******S******* is around the corner. I would eat there first and watch the gig from the bar upstairs. But the decor, the service and the house band make it a good venue for those attending any of the four Cheltenham Festivals.

Roast was cold when first served so we asked for fresh plates. Even our replacements went cold very quickly and were very underseasoned. Overall quite disappointing, especially given the price tag. Clearly the bottomless deal helps to mask what is otherwise very average food. One big plus was that the service was very good but we won't be returning.

A wonderful venue with great cocktails. The service was friendly but the food was average. I ordered my steak medium-rare and it came out well done. The dessert was also a bit of a let-down. We ordered two 'Warm Chocolate Brownies' and while they looked good, they'd actually came out cold and unmelted which we only realised once we'd dug in. I'd urge an uptick in the kitchen to match the style and meticulous detail of the building.

Really atmospheric Art Deco interior (a converted 1920s cinema) and the friendliness of staff and the quality of food matched the grandeur of the setting. We were visiting Cheltenham for the first time and celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and the photo shows how the staff took this on board. Only regret is that there wasn't one of their live jazz events on when we were in town. Highly highly recommended!

Beautiful setting with well spaced out tables. An atmosphere of adult chatter and humour makes the place feel warm and inviting. Service was as you would expect in such a lovely building, exceptional. The menu catered for all appetites with some wonderful fish dishes, great steaks or just fish n chips if that's what you fancy. A very good selection of drinks from lagers to wines of the world. The treacle tart was a superb finish to a lovely evening. Will definitely be going back soon.

I don't go to the Daffodil enough. Went to the Cheltenham Ivy the night before and wasn't impressed. The Daffodil however has always had superb food, an unbelievable atmosphere plus the art deco thing is unique anywhere around here. You really need to come here at least once.

Went here for afternoon tea with my wife.

Food was amazing, staff polite, friendly and helpful.

Would recommend wholeheartedly.

What would make a 5? Had to ask for plates and cutlery to go with our afternoon tea; and toward the end of our meal the place filled with strong smells of frying food (the kitchen is open to the dining area).

We have been to The Daffodil a few time recently and done the Sunday roast. It's good value with unlimited wine for 2 hours.
You get a starter, main and unlimited wine for a good price. And we always get the sharer dessert as its brilliant.
Always worth a try at this amazing venue.

Possibly the best restaurant and food I have ever experienced. A beautiful art decco building which was originally a cinema many years ago. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended.
