At The Crossings, you get what you pay for. The greens aren't in great shape. But the fairways in the tea boxes are. There's sand in the sand traps. Hard to find a pretty good course like the crossings, for the price. Overall a pretty good course to play.

First off the send people out one after another. This time using golf now they did not have me down on the rangers time sheet. They sent us out but it was all bunched. Greens here are great, everything else is not. Dirt a lot of places. Tee boxes not so good, but not completely horrible. There is also no driving range or chipping area. The people here a nice. So that and the greens are the real positives.

I have never had bad experiences with the staff here as noted in some of the other reviews and have played here a few times. The elevation changes are nice. There is water in play on a few of the holes as well. Overall, not a bad course, but not one of the nicest you will find either. Would be nice if they had someone around to marshall the course and monitor pace of play, we were slowed brutally by the group in front of us my last trip here. Luckily they called it a day after the first 9 holes.

This is an average course. The greens are decently smooth but slow. The fairways had weeds growing out of them. The layout is okay with the back 9 being significantly more treacherous than the front. This was the first course I played when I moved down here, now I remember why I haven't returned until now.

Its a good course for intermediate players. There are several holes with a high degree of difficulty on the back nine. You need to be able to hit the ball straight or have good control. I've shot as low as 78 but also in the 90s. Most folks I see hit in the 90-100's whacking their sticks on the ground.

How was the crossings? How would I know. I made a tee time for 130. Showed up at 100 to check in. Was told tee time was 230. I said I called last night, made the reservation and confirmed it as 130. Response was sorry can't help ya. Well sorry don't have to play here.

The crossings is a short but challenging course. Has some tight holes but the greens are usually pretty consistent and roll true. Island green on the back 9 is always a real test for your nerves. Great staff and carts are still relatively new. No driving range , has small putting and chipping area that works just fine. Great finishing hole, downhill par 4. It gives you a great chance with ending on a good note....which is a rare thing sometimes.

The posts about the attitude of the employees I didn't experience. Three of us played 18 holes and we couldn't be happier with the service we received. A few of the greens have some spots that need attended to but the course in general was a lot of fun. When we hit the turn we wanted a quick bite to eat. The guy was more than courteous and volunteered to get one of our playing partners the chicken fingers he wanted in a short amount of time. The course is challenging and I lost a few balls but it was definitely a course I want a rematch on! We had a great experience and we can't wait to go back.

Good layout...good test for all levels of players....no beverage cart on weekends is very disappointing....Players do poor job repairing greens it appears, but they are above average, and roll well.
NO DRIVING RANGE biggest thing missing, but still recommend this course.

Not Terrible. Bring a couple extra balls. It's a bit soupy, it's low country so if you hit it into rough....don't bother because it's swampy and you may end up in the ER w/snake bite if you go into the woods. There was a snake on 1st Tee-box on my 1st visit but don't let that stop you. If you can hit reasonably straight tee-shots, this course ain't bad. Fairways and greens are decent although cartpath only when I played and for good reason...the fairways were soaked up but still decent grass. Like I said, it's soupy but not a bad track with a straight tee-ball and there are a few elevation changes. Par 4s are a decent challenge. To be fair...there have been heavy storms lately. I will give it another go. It's not impressive at the clubhouse but who cares when you are out on the course.

This is a fun and challenging layout from the blue or black tees, but in my opinion the course plays much too short from the white tees, even for the average golfer.
Many blind shots and undulating greens will keep you on your toes. The greens were recently mowed on the day I played, but the greens were still running very slow.
Fairways were decent with a few shaggy spots, and the greens were damaged by people who didn t fix their pitch marks. In many places it looked like angry golfers took chucks out of the green with their putters.
There are no obvious distance markers on the course, which was frustrating, and the few that were on the ground were hard to find under over-grown grass.
I don t think this course is worth the $50 fee but I m glad I tried it. Bring plenty of balls if it s your first time.

It s a fairly short and narrow course. Keep your ball in the fairway or you ll lose it in tall weeds or water hazards. The streams running through it in some areas are eroding so much ground, it s encroaching on the greens. They keep the greens very soft (I ve plugged in them) and fairly slow. It seems they ve given up on maintaining sandtraps, converting them to grass bunkers. Good enough for a 9-hole after work league, but I wouldn t be a member.

Worst golf experience of my year. Marshall was snarky about pace of play and blamed it on the owners. When we let the people behind us play through, they complained about that too. Not to mention it was raining and it was cart path only. Don t play here if you want to have a relaxing round with considerate management.

I played the course on a Sunday morning in Dec - after some heavy rain - so it was not in the best condition. The course is ok. Not too long or challenging - as reflected in the low slope rating. (Only 5377 yards from white tees so I would recommend playing off the blue or black tees if you are looking for a more challenging experience.)
The bar/restaurant has a rather limited menu - but a decent selection of beers! Prices were a little high - but the bar staff was very friendly.
The reason I give it a 2* is that they apply a rule that really irks me. On the day I played they were applying a "carts on path only" rule - which was totally understandable given the wet conditions. What irked me is that, given the cart path only rule, I asked if I could walk instead of taking a buggy. I was informed that this was not allowed and that I must pay the 15$ (per person) buggy charge. I can understand the "pace of play" argument when carts are allowed on the course - but this does not make sense when it is cart path only.
So, only 2 stars.

Been there 3 times this year already. Love this course. After 2pm on the weekends it is only 30 bucks for 18 holes and a cart. Course had been is great shape every time. Favorite hole is number 12 with the island green. Unfortunately hole 9 just destroys me every time. I'll learn at some point.

This is my home course so it may be a little biased but i think the fairways and teeboxes are in the best shape they can be out of the courses around this area. The bunkers could use a little more work or they could maybe change the sand up because its a little tough to play out of. Most of the greens are in good condition but some greens are just a little messed up in the offseason. Since its now spring the greens are back to normal and are fine. If you want a real challenge play the back 9

Beautiful golf course. Very challenging. We were not happy that they paired us up with a couple of golfers as it makes the rounds take more time. Luckily the golfers were very cool, so we all got along well. Because of that however I give this course 4 stars. My buddy and I play all kinds of courses and never has a course forced people into our group. We will just play other places from now on. If you are a group of 4, you will love it!

The crossings is a decent golf course. I enjoy the layout quite a bit. The greens are kept long/slow because they are bent grass and would die in the summer heat if not. The bunkers are getting better, but they still have a ways to go before I'd call them good. Overall I typically enjoy my round here.

I have been golfing here for over 10 years. Last two months the greens have been very spongy and inconsistent. Pitch marks, even ones you repair don't heal. Before someone says "it's the weather" drive 2 miles down the street to FAlls Village. Greens are firm and true. Can't understand why they can't get the greens better when Falls Village right down the street, with the same weather condition has firm and true greens. Approach shot at Falls barely leaves a pitch mark. Here is what the USGA says

"If core cultivation and thatch reduction tactics are forgone or are significantly reduced, the putting surfaces will be slow, spongy, and not roll true."

The do plug the greens but trust me saying you plug is like saying you cook. There is good and bad.

The course was in great shape and the weather cooperated. Living in Florida the last fifteen years it was nice to play a course with some character. A good amount of undulation and hitting to spots.

Management doesn't seem to care if they are over packing the course. Expect to take 5 hours if it's busy as it would appear gold etiquette doesn't exist at this course. The course itself was good through.

Response to owner comment: This was during the fall where the weather wasn't nearly as bad. We had a tee time and got put right behind MANY golfers and many were filled in behind us. This was soon after the clocks were changed from daylight savings. So our afternoon 18 holes become 15 or so since we had to skip so many holes due to poor etiquette and lack of marshaled tee times.

One of my favorite courses in the triangle. I am a high handicap player. This is a challenging but manageable course. The layout is great and most of the times it is in great shape. Prices are reasonable. Very rarely do I ever see where they overbook and have huge wait times. I would recommended to anyone looking to get 18 holes in less than 4.5 hours. Favorite hole is #9 - you have to go over water twice. If you stay dry, very good change for birdie/par (for us high handicappers)

Good layout and fairways are good the greens are horrible. Don't know what that happened to them seems to be some sort of weeds growing on them. This course is definitely not worth 49 bucks with the greens in that shape

Pros: The Crossings is affordable and in pretty good shape. It's not very long and not overly challenging. It rarely gets backed up to where you can't get on. A decent craft beer selection (as well as corporate light beer) is available in the snack bar. The staff are friendly.

Cons: They don't have a driving range. The pro shop has a very limited selection of balls, clubs, gloves, apparel, etc. I'm not a member, but it doesn't look like this place is where you want to join if you're looking to make lots of friends and participate in lots of member events. They do have tournaments, but I don't ever see large groups of guys hanging out or playing together.

The course was generally ok but needed work. The greens were very soft and in places were burnt out and/or had fungus on them. It's a shame people don't repair their ball Mark's making the green rough looking. Also in places the weeks were very high. Some of the cart paths needed replacing at they were rough and bumpy because of roots. Finally some of the tees didn't have much grass on them

Because of rain the previous night, The fairways we're very soggy in some spots.
Cart paths are terrible! The Superintendent needs to address this. It's not too hard to dump some stone here and there, or take a frontend loader and scrape this and that.
I worked on golf courses off and on over 3 years...... it's not hard to address the little stuff.
It'll be awhile before I go back .....and I'll let others know too

Played 18 mid-August, course condition was great. Really enjoyed the course design, not the hardest course out there but there's some good challenge for sure. The staff and golfers I interacted with on the day were all friendly.

If you are looking to play golf near the Durham Co...

If you are looking to play golf near the Durham County line on Highway 98 I would suggest the Crossings before I suggest Falls Village. The Crossings is a little more wide open so you won't struggled nearly as much getting out of the tee box. That said, some of the second shots at the Crossings are very difficult. If you are not a good ball striker you could end up struggling on these approach shots.

The greens are average but not great. The layout has a few doglegs so be away of the fact that you will need to be able to curve the ball both ways. If you hit a draw or a fade predominantly you can find a way to play it. If you are not consistent with your drives this course will be a challenge. There are a few holes that have water around them on this course as well.

The staff here, particularly the management, should consider retiring to pursue a field not involving customer service. They are extremely rude, made slanderous claims regarding my husband's character, and they will NEVER have our business or our recommendation again.

The course itself is decent; it's generally well-maintained, but nothing special. NOT worth the treatment or the underhanded behavior.

We will be taking our business down the street to Falls Village!

Just the worst customer service. Just plain gerks. Yell at you on the phone when you try and explain something to them on the phone. Their club pro is a joke and they wont allow a father to take out is five year old on the course. What a*sh*oles.

Marshal hassled our group of 4 for playing the fro...

Marshal hassled our group of 4 for playing the front 9 in 2.25 hours when it was raining and cart path only. We let the next group play through on hole 10 and the marshal came back at hole 11 to tell us the group that teed off before us had already finished 18. This was a little under 3 hours after our tee time..... don t go here if you want to have a relaxing round of golf but do if you need to get a full round in under 3.5 hours.

The course itself was nice and greens were in decent shape. We were admiring the 11th hole before we were hassled again.

EDIT: We got a rain check for the back 9 and went back this weekend. We made sure we teed off right behind the group in front of us so we could not be accused of playing slowly and kept pace with that group through all 18 pretty easily. It was still very wet so it was cart path only but we each had our own cart this time to increase our pace of play as much as possible. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time when we weren t worried about how fast we were playing.

This place has gone wayyyyyy downhill. Don't waste your money. The greens ( if you want to call them that) are pathetic, they have crab grass growing through them and divots all over the place. Front desk guys failed to mention that half of the so called greens were punched but was charged full price. Fairway rough has mowed shaving all over the place so if you do end up there , good luck trying to find it. This place has potential but definitely not worth more than $10 to play in it's current condition ......good luck
