The Country Club of Ocala Review

Played in a FSGA event...not very impressed with condition...typical private club, greens are horrible.
Layout was nice...food smelled good.

Went to a Financial Seminar and it was very informative. They served us a wonderful Fillet Mignon dinner with a Baked Potatoe Broccolini and Salad and Dessert. Sat with very friendly women and even ran into a Good friend I haven't seen in awhile.

Good shape considering all the rain, staff did a great job, cart path and rough only today.

Great place, super meal, and the price was right. Invited to a financial seminar for seniors.

Excellent service in pro shop, great golf course, challenging and great service in the restaurant.

I really enjoy this Hampton Golf faculty. The pace of play is right on. The conditions of the course are top notch. The Green speed is really good.

New cluhouse, Tennis and gym center facilities are excellent with a great staff with Spa features.

CCOcala is a great course! Challenging and fun! Staff is friendly and awesome! The just aerated the greens so the are bumpy and slow! But normally they are as slick as glass!

This review is for the catering only (the golf course is fantastic). We had a company Christmas party here. There was not a single person at our table that finished any of the courses. We also were the only table that wasn't drinking, either. The flavor profiles were all completely wrong, including a thick glaze on a fillet mignon (which somehow came out tough!?!). The barmaid was very friendly, that's the only good thing that I heard anyone say. At least the conversation was good.

We recently had a party at the Country Club. Jaimee and Sarah made the experience amazing. The Country Club is beautiful. The food was excellent.

We had our class reunion there. The staff was outstanding

Considering the extremely heavy rains and high winds that hit Ocala on Friday, I was amazed that the staff was able to get the course ready to open on Saturday morning. The did a fantastic job! The course was a little soggy in places from the rain but other that it was in very good condition. The staff was friendly and helpful and the facilities were excellent. We look forward to playing there again.

Christmas party, service was very good. But, they had issues with the dinner. Guess they run on natural gas and ran out. So food was not fully cooked, so guests who received their food first was half done. From there it was down hill, most people ended up not eating. As far as our gathering, it was fun.

It is a good challenge for the mid to lower handicap golfer. But, with its location, nestled within million dollar homes, I was disappointed that the course was not in better shape. I would like to play the course again to see if conditions have improved.

A very nice layout with challenges from all tees. The course is in good, but not premium, shape. Staff are very accommodating and burgers at the Tennis Cafe are delicious.

I was there for a wedding. The scenery from the windows of the building was beautiful! The tables were far enough apart if you were concerned about social distancing. The food was delicious!

When potential members are considering a new or in the case of Florida, another country club to join, there are several criteria that come into play. When taking these features into consideration, you will find that the Country Club of Ocala has it all.

I spoke with several members who had nothing but great things to say about Hampton Golf and how they are in the process of taking the club to the next level. Previous management had made renovations to the golf course and left many of their improvements unfinished. Hampton has stepped up to the plate and is seeing things through to completion; as a result, the course and facility are in their best shape in years.

The main clubhouse and banquet center have gone through a complete makeover and the tennis and fitness center are due to be renovated this summer. Tennis plays a big part at the Country Club of Ocala. Tennis enthusiasts will enjoy five clay hydro courts and two hard courts, a well-organized tournament schedule and a constant inter-club play calendar. Whether you are seeking a leisurely game or some intense competition, you are sure to find what you are looking for at the Country Club of Ocala.

The fitness center and pool share the same clubhouse as the tennis center. The fitness center is equipped with lots of cardio equipment and free weights and a staff that will see to it that you get the most out of your workout without hurting yourself. Small group classes like boot camp and yoga are also available to help round out your exercise regimen. A massage therapist is available by appointment.

The centerpiece of the club is the 18-hole championship golf course designed by architect Steve Nugent. This scenic, par 72 layout can play as tough or as easy as you like; it all depends on the tees you choose. Doglegs, well-manicured water hazards and strategically placed bunkers will challenge golfers of all abilities. Sloped fairways and elevation changes add to the challenge. The course favors a well thought out strategy from a straight hitter over a longball hitter although length is a definite advantage on a couple of the par 5 holes. The greens are well-manicured and feature considerable undulation to challenge your putting game. Keep your tee shots in the fairway and your approach shots below the hole and you re bound to do well.

The County Club of Ocala also has an impressive practice facility, with a full-length driving range where you can hit every club in your bag, a separate short game area complete with bunker and a good size putting green. The professional staff is readily available to help you overcome any of your golf game s shortfalls.

A key component to any private club is the dining and the Country Club of Ocala doesn t disappoint. Meals are served in one of two dining rooms that overlook the Club's waterfall and stream. Or you can choose to dine on the canyon style wrap-around porch and enjoy the scenery. If you re looking for something even more casual, the clubhouse bar offers diners a clear view of the 18th green.

Executive Chef Daphne Garcia and her culinary staff have created lunch, dinner and kids menus that feature unique and tasty dishes that are sure to please any palate. For example, the lunch menu includes a Salmon Burger and Kentucky Hot Brown Sandwich. The dinner menu features several seafood and vegan entrees, while the kids menu offers choices that any child will enjoy. There s something for everyone! The Golf Club restaurant offers lunch Tuesday through Sunday, and dinner Wednesday through Saturday.

Jamie was the best host they were all on point everything went smooth and great the whole place was there for you I made your day so special I would recommend anybody getting married here and it was so beautiful there they all did a great job thank you so much I appreciated my day being that perfect thank you for doing that for us

Best course I have played on. It was definitely a pleasant experience here with the staff and the greens. Fairways are beautiful too, there are so many thing great with the course and to be able to play in a community where there are nice houses and good golfers.

I personally have not visited, but a cousin who did a vacation with me visited daily. She absolutely raved over everything they had to offer. I'll be jumping in their soon because if she loved it, I know it's good, really

I was there last friday to decorate for a weeding the next day. The service here is amazing! Loved how polite and nice everyone was. I can definitely say I had amazing time and we didn't have no problems at all. The next day, Saturday, since it was really hot they provided us water bottles. I love this place, the center is big and comfortable.

A beautiful clubhouse for all kinds of events ranging from weddings to parties of any sort. The golf course is kept in tip top shape, and the general environment is amazing. The event staff and general staff are all well trained and very friendly. I would definitely reccomend for just about whatever you want.

You'd be hard pressed to find any faults when at Country Club of Ocala. The golf course is magnificent while reasonably priced. Its tough but gettable. There are birdies to be had. Staff have always been attentive and polite. If you have a chance to play the course I highly recommend it.

There are a lot of cons for working with this company. There is an extreme lack of communication, managment is misleading, & the restaurant manager/tennis cafe manager are incompetent of their position. The club is always short staffed so the duties are overloaded with no means to "catch up" the attitudes between coworkers are extremely depressive and no feel of teamwork that is conducive to a healthy work place environment. Everyone is competing against one another although this restaurant is shared 18% gratuity/extra gratuity, all gratuities are split & divided at the end of the shift. It takes the Restaurant Manager at least 1-2 hours to figure out the amounts (tips) if not the next day or the next week. All Credit Card gratuities go on your check (bi-weekly) the only time you make cash is when a member leaves cash or if the club has member for a day visiting. Don t forget the gratuity/cash is shared with the other servers. There is a service charge on guest checks of 18% most members only leave 18%. You might get a hand full that leave extra Gratuity. Although the members/residents are the best part of the job however it's very depressing as well as knowing management shows favoritism towards the old employees that have been there other than welcoming the new employees. The restaurant manager/Tennis Cafe manager is allowed to take tables/parties which is very interesting. The managers are getting paid salary or a higher rate so how is that fair for the servers that are making minimum wage. Its only about corporate making money. I would not recommend working at CCO to anyone. Very bad experience working at County Club of Ocala. When Hampton took over, Hampton should have Terminated the front of the house/back of the house employees. From what I ve heard/seen there is a lot of theft in all departments. Hampton should consider investigating all head departments. Wonder why there is a high turn over rate. By far the worst Country Club in Marion county I ve worked for in the restaurant industry.

Attended a Christmas party as a guest. Beautiful venue and nice staff. Debbie was awesome and gave us excellent service. We all had a wonderful Christmas i m sure we will be here next year!

Beautiful venue prices were so reasonable it seemed to good to be true but everything for moms 80th birthday party was perfect.

Country Club of Ocala is simply amazing. The course is in phenomenal shape, and the layout is one of my favorites of the many courses I ve played. Greens are perfect right now, and the fairway is lush and you can take a nice divot. The staff is more than helpful. I ve played at private courses where people make you feel like you don t belong. That won t happen at CCO. Everyone is friendly, and I m always happy to play with new folks. The pool and dining is great as well.

New greens are nice. Pretty tough though. Love the layout
