A nice plaza that is quite lively before or after a basketball or hockey game, but is not a destination that I would normally visit if I'm not there for a game at Staples Center. The restaurants here are nothing to write home about, though I would still recommend coming here if you've never been before.

L.A. Live is across Staple Center. It has certain amount of restaurant but they ain't that exceptional good in my opinion. This nice place for a date than for family. Parking is very pricey and business won't validated. You option is to find parking meter or private parking lot in few blocks away.

Great potential but needs more development of the surrounding neighborhoods. It is a really nice attempt to emulate NY-like ambience with tall buildings and screens everywhere. The staples center, the convention center, Microsoft theater, Nokia theater and Regal are all nearby which may sound pretty cool but I oftentimes find myself with nothing to do in this area. It either is full of people or looks like a ghost town. This is a general problem of DTLA which they should work on as soon as possible because it's a shame for such a nice development to go to waste.

I remember the day that LA Live opened up like it was yesterday, and now here we are, 10 years later, and I'm just wondering where all the time has gone and how it passed by so quickly! This amazing entertainment center opened the same year that I moved to Los Angeles, so for me it also holds a sentimental place in my Angeleno story. I was so happy to cover this super fun 10 year anniversary event now as a pro photographer, and I hope my pictures have captured the spirit of fun and enjoyment that filled the air that night in Microsoft Square. Last week I also got to enjoy a performance by the Grammy Award winning band The Digable Planets at The Novo, so this is truly turning out to be LA Live month for me! I guess I'll have to go do my favorite thing to do at LA Live next week, which is the amazing 4D movie theater. Yes, I said 4D!!!! I literally can't even watch a movie at a theater any more unless it's in 4D! I'm hooked. If you're looking or a great experience that's indigenous to Los Angeles and shows off the best that DTLA has to offer, LA Live is a great choice!

It's starting to get more hip and cool vibes. The city is using it to host fun events with the big open space and large screens. There's plenty of food places and bars and entertainment. Plus its across the street from your Los Angeles Lakers. Go take a picture with those cool statues and her some drinks at the Yard House. Tell em I sent ya...(warning: doesn't mean anything. They might just laugh at you)

I haven't personally visited yet, but one of my Besties/Longtime LA residents says they have a great atmosphere! The food is delish! However be prepared because they are a bit pricey! I'll personally review, when I return to LA Summer 2019! Stay tuned!!! :)

This is always a fun area. Never a shortage of events or sideshows to entertain you. Some sculptures worth seeing, and plenty of good food and drinks in the area. The vibe itself is worth the visit.

I hosted my wedding here and I definitely was not disappointed. Everything went according to plan and the service was so quick. I'm so glad I decided to do the catering with the venue too because the food was so good and fresh. There was definitely plenty left over because they definitely do not skimp out on the portions.

The buildings here could be rented out to various groups in the community. Fun and novel events on a regular basis. A very central location for a tourist to start visiting DTLA. I've attended basketball games in the courts nearby. Restaurants are good but on the pricey side. Very noisy and crowded. At night, if there aren't any events, be careful about walking here, especially alone.

Unique venues all in one spot! You can go to Staples Center, Grammy museum & events, LA Coliseum, hotels, many dining options all in a 2-3 block area. A real hub of people and all of the ongoing events that are the happenings in town! Never a dull moment.

Fantastic! Fabulous! This is a must see in LA. Beautifully designed upscale outdoor mall with wide range of shops, restaurants, museums, and activities.I really loved the vibe here, very energetic and alive. Very clean, very modern, very safe and well patrolled by security. Truthfully, at night it seemed more like Tokyo than LA. With flashing lights and big screens everywhere, clean sidewalks, everything modern and we'll designed to floor together. I really enjoyed this place. We stayed at the JW Marriott Live and that was the perfect place to stay to visit this area. Please see my review of the hotel for more details.

I was completely against LA Live when it went in. I thought it would be tacky, commercial, expensive, and bland. And you know what? I was right. But I end up going there all the time anyway. It's lively, downtown adjacent, with handy movie theatres (Regal), beer (Yard House), copious food venues, and reasonably easy parking and transit access. It's not really a destination for me, but it's a great place to grab a beer, or a burger, or launch off to the rest of Downtown. It's brought a lot of life to central LA, and that's great.
