I didn't go into the restaurant because they had outdoor seating & it was a beautiful Sat. Afternoon so we had a fairly long wait. They allow dogs so if you don't like dogs or are affraid of them this is not the place for you. Since it was so crowded & busy the wait for our food was overly long but was worth the wait. The big attraction for my grandson was the train that practically flew through the restaurant. It really isn't overly loud but very exciting for the train lovers out there. Maybe during the week it is less crowded.

TL;DR: wait times for a table aren't that bad and probably worth the wait; food is amazing here, service is good, and the wait time to get your food from the time you ordered is decent despite high volume.

This place serves hearty meals that didn't have me too heavy/over stuffed afterwards. I had the chimichurri steak and eggs; my wife had the braised ox tail ragu. The chimichurri was a nice touch - dressed over the steak. If you are really particular about your steak then you might not choose it here. I ordered med-rare and got rare (seared outside with barely mid pink and more raw with some blood center -- to me that is a rare steak). Maybe try medium and u might get med rare? Not a big deal - the steak was good either way. Better than my steak was the oxtail ragu -- now THAT was fun. The thick chewy noodle with the savory sauce and all the veggies was amazing! It was PACKED in here -- our wait time was only about 20 min so again not bad at all. I believe the menu changes from time to time so don't count on ordering what I wrote about; I actually saw a Reuben sandwich on google photos from this place which I wanted but it wasnt found on the menu - lol again doesn't matter food is good either way. We liked it here.

Cozy restaurant with a fireplace, bookshelves, and a small approachable staff. The menu is hearty and portions are a good size. The menus is also meat heavy, with virtually no vegetarian faire. The location also has a separate bar, which I have not personally experienced.

Disappointed I had eaten there before and loved it. But not this time. The food was cold and we were ignored because we weren't there when it was super busy you get better service when they're busy

I may have went on a bad day, but my beer was not cold. And the staff seemed to be overworked. The burger I order was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was very relaxing, besides the train that rolls through every so often. I d give it another try, I hear the lobster rolls are amazing.

Nice casual restaurant located in the old train station. Food was average, my rating is mostly based on overall experience.
The outdoor dining area is pretty, specially in a beautiful summer day.
The train passes right next to it so can be lots of fun for kids.
I ordered the pear salad which was fresh and lightly dressed to perfection.

Not the best visit today. I've come to the Depot a few times now over the years. Typically the food and service are good. However, today I was disappointed. I ordered the kids cheeseburger and fries for my 1 1/2 year old, along with my and my mothers sandwich orders for lunch. They brought our sandwiches out and the waitress admitted she didn't hit the button to order my sons burger, ok I can understand. Finally the burger comes out, its a pretty thin burger which was fine but it was raw in the middle. Obviously they rushed it out. So I give it to another waiter, because with a small child you need to act fast. He apologized and brought it back to the kitchen. Few minutes later, our waitress brings the burger out. No apology. I cut into the burger, still not cooked. The waitress never comes back to ask how the burger was. We just finished our meals, paid and left. Was pretty disappointed with our waitresses service.

Like everyone else, we waited on line for about 20 minutes looking the whole time right at the empty table the sorry host would eventually seat us at. 2 normal meals and 2 kids meals took an hour to make. Was bland and they forgot a salad. Pass on this place. Much better places up the street.

On the plus side the kids loved the trains that zoomed by and I didn't have to waste much money on a tip.

Nice place to stop have lunch and stroll to the water. Pear salad with added chicken was very tastey and fresh. $17. $2 for seltzer and the whole bill ( pictured ) i thought was a tad expensive.. but food was good.

The food was so good. Never been but pass by it everyday on the train. The perogies and the egg rolls were so good. Mike the maitre'd/ bartender was freaking awesome and fun and cool and chill and he needs a raise. He was the best part of coming here. Great conversationalist. Great wine selection.

Great atmosphere. Food is always good. I'd give 5 stars but for the pricing. It is typical of restaurants to be on the pricey side for food, I get it...but the alcohol? For a drink is $12... I drank a meal in two drinks...that's crazy when I know the bottle cost them less than 3 drinks

My friend and I were just here and didn't even get the opportunity to sit down. The hostess was missing and when we asked the servers if we could get a table, they were extremely rude towards us. I tried to ask a waitress and she just replied with "excuse me" and continued to walk away. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, and I would advise to steer away.

The service is not good at all, guys they look like they are forced to be there, not friendly at all, but most of all, annoyed cous I couldn't get their "burrata and heirlooms" dish without basil.. apparently becouse they use already prep and dressed tomatoes in a can.. and the burger was way overcooked and super dry with maybe a couple of days old bun..

So I've been going to this place since I was a child, and the food has always been incredible. Just incredible. However on my last visit I had a very rude server, who was extremely inattentive and when I'd call her over she got progressively more and more agitated. As if she was mad that we were making her do her job. It wasn't even calling her over often, just for refills on water and such after long periods of jot seeing her. The icing on the cake though was when she came back and slammed the bill on the table and went "Have a nice day, or don't, I don't care" and stormed away. Overall it's a great restaurant, but that service I had that day lwas completely unprofessional. Just keep that in mind when going there.

Great outdoor patio in downtown cold spring. Right next to the train tracks, so if you have little ones that are into thomas and such, every 30 mins or so there a choo choo roaring by! Good food and brews for the adults. Nice place!

Wanted to try this place for lunch. They do the wait list via cell text, and they never called/ sent text. Thank goodness we found somewhere else for lunch...if we had actually waited for them, we'd still be waiting.

For over 150 years this has been the prime location for train travelers to arrive in Cold Spring. Today it still looks very much like it did before becoming a fantastic restaurant. The new station depot sits just feet away. The setting is historic and beautiful, both indoor and out. There are a quaint bar and lovely dining rooms. The menu offers many options. We dined here for lunch and enjoyed a healthy stuffed Lobster Roll with no filler. It was served with a side of crispy fries. The hostess said the burgers were exceptional and would not disappoint. She was on point. Their burgers are juicy, flavorful, and generously sized. I enjoyed a Brussel Sprout coleslaw, and that too was delicious. Cold Spring Depot should be a destination on your list especially convenient for those who want to day hop by train. The town offers so much to do and see from kayaking on the Hudson to strolling into a myriad of shops. And the Depot is next to the ice cream shop.

Pet friendly on the patio -dogs & cats must be harnessed. The staff here are friendly, the service was fast, the food was awesome. Staff had masks added to uniform for COVID prevention.

This is a really nice place to sit outside and have a drink, it's got a large open patio with a bar and plenty of shaded seating. My first introduction was inside for dinner with my mother and she really enjoyed it and asked to go back on her next visit. My son loves trains and the tracks are only about 10 to 15 feet from the tables, it scares him, but he loves it nonetheless, so it's nice to grab a bite and let him watch trains. The staff are friendly and I enjoyed my fish tacos and their poke appetizer. The beer selection was good as well. You can grab a bite and then quickly go under the tracks and the water is a short walk away.

It's a shame I had to give this review considering Star was an amazing lady but the gentlemen (buzz cut ) who completely ignored our existence will hopefully realize he works for the face of the company and I'll no longer ever return.... He didn't care... The manger will.

Rolled up to the Cold Spring Depot a few minutes before 11 AM on Sunday.
The outdoor bartender Star, welcomed us in although they were not yet open.
Star made one hell of a bloody Mary, she spoke to us of some interesting facts of the area. She was very personable and told us a great place to eat lunch in High Falls as we had stopped on Harleys for a quick one. She reviewed a map with us and helped our Sunday become a great day of adventure and motorcycling.
It is really nice to meet down to earth people who take the time to be friendly and helpful. Great Job Star, hope we cross paths again.

Great brunch spot on a Sunday afternoon. A group of us finished a hike on Breakneck Ridge in Beacon and then ended up here. The pesto chicken sandwich was great and the onion soup VERY cheesy.
If you sit on the patio, be forewarned about the amount of noise from the MetroNorth trains rushing by. And, like all of Cold Spring, parking is very limited.

Very slow to get our food. Waiter never asked how it was, never asked if we wanted more drinks, never came over at all actually. In fact as I will this I'm waiting to see him so I can ask for the check. On the plus side the food was very good. Too bad the rest of the experience tainted the evening.

It was cold and raining (we chose to eat outside) but the food was really good and the service was great considering. The first time a train rolls through is a bit surprising, but it's not a problem. Can't wait to go back under better conditions.

Was taken here for lunch by a friend while I was visiting in NY and therefore had no expectations. I was pleasantly impressed by the quality and taste and the service was good, if a bit slow..not the waiter's fault. Dogs are allowed and there were several on the outside patio.

Great spot to grab a bite after a beautiful hike in Cold Spring. Impressive selection of craft beers and good Pub style food. Best of all they've got lots of outdoor seating so you can continue your nature kick if you are visiting from NYC. The restaurant is right by the train station so you can sip your beer right up until your departure time.

A typical American restaurant, and serving regular fast food, that is also located next to a busy railroad way. Trains are passing quite often, making it loud and destroying an atmosphere of a quiet town.
Since there are not so many big restaurants in the area with a large patio, the place is busy and wait time is about 45 minutes. Not recommended for large groups.
