We had a lovely lunch today and we also sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine. Always such a nice place to visit.
We had a lovely lunch today and we also sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine. Always such a nice place to visit.
The most patronising receptionist, wanted to book a meal for my wife's birthday. Michelin star maybe, manners nil
I go there for years to use the restaurant. I live everything about it.
Went there for lunch today. Parking was chaotic and it was wet. Lunch was pleasant and enjoyable but the restaurant was very busy.
We had the seaweed outdoor bath treatment and it was so relaxing listening to the craching of the waves while soaking in a hot seaweed bath.
Thanks so much to the hotel and especially to Sharon. We bought them the night away for their 50th wedding anniversary. My mam slipped and fell on the cliff walk on Thursday and Sharon went up the cliff in her wellies with blankets until the coastguard came and then helped my dad to pack up back at the hotel. Sharon phoned to see how she was today and We will be forever grateful for the kindness shown to them. Thank you Sharon and Cliff house !
The perfect place for a short getaway. Stunning views, fan food, wonderful staff. Tip: wear the wellies for a cliff top walk, they're there for a reason!!
Had Veranda suite room nice not worth the money I paid.
There was a piece of board sticking out from under the bed with nails sticking up I almost stood on it.
A bulb gone in ceiling lights going up to bedroom.
TV table chipped room needs a facelift.
Food and staff excellent
Staff in reception very helpful and friendly. Beautiful sea views. Dinner was an amazing experience, very artistic ! Breakfast was the best I have ever had.
Myself and my friend went to the cliff house hotel Last weekend to enjoy a cocktail on a lovely sunny day whilst staying in Ardmore for the weekend. When we received the bill we noticed some errors... when we went to pay I started to say to the person there was an error and I was told to wait, which I did. A young waitress asked if she could help and I explained to her... she was most helpful and she tried again to explain to the person who was on the till, and he also took her very rudely ... she checked the price of our cocktails and agreed that we had been overcharged. He again continued with what he was trying to do on the till... Both myself and my friend as well as the waitress were getting increasing embarrassed standing in a full resturant .
he walked away and left us all in dismay. A manageress then came over and busily apologies and gave us back our refunds... we were shocked , both that we had been overcharged and the manner in which we treated ... very embarrassing. This is not the service one should expect from a 5 hotel. To be overcharged by the hotel and treated in a very rude manner to a situation created by the hotel.... not a good experience .... check your bill twice before you pay ....
It's amazing the effect the wrong sentence can have on your experience in a 5 Star establishment with 1 Star training.
Went in here with my Son after a long walk in the area and on appraisal from the waiter of us was asked, "are ye just here for drinks?"
It was the sheer judgement of the question, implied slight and general rudeness that was just so unprofessional and made my Son uncomfortable. He might as well have said, are ye in the right place, the AA meeting is down the road!
The correct question every time, in a well trained member of staff is, will ye dining with us today or will ye be dining with us this evening. Simple, correct, polite. Ruined an otherwise nice day out with my Son.
Absolutely fantastic - view, food, ambience and staff.
We had dinner in the Cliff House last night and were extremely disappointed. We had a voucher for Euro 100 and we spent over 120.
I had smoked salmon for first course and it had too much black/brown bits on it. My husband ordered steak and I had hake. He got a little bowl of french fries and I had something under my fish which did not amount to a teaspoonful of whatever it was. Vegetables do not seem to be on their radar. We had to ask for some more french fries and they arrived at a cost of Euro4.90. I have to say our waiter was unpleasant when we requested extra french fries. The final straw was that we were only offered the one menu for dinner. Two girls seated behind us were offered 'specials for the day'. We can only assume that we did not get offered any specials as we had a Euro 100 voucher. On paying we questioned about having to order extra french fries and was informed - well that's the way it is in the kitchen. I have requested my family NOT TO GIVE US A VOUCHER FOR THE CLIFF HOUSE HOTEL AGAIN as it is seen less valuable than credit card or cash. We will not be returning. The staff member who served us needs further education and there is no place for nastiness in any restaurant.
Melt in your mouth food, even the fat on the beef tasted fantastic. Portions aren't massive but it leaves more room for pints. Great setting and staff very friendly and helpful
View lovely....outside so chill. So special you can feel Saint Declan. .lunch..menu unimaginative. However cocktails exquisite try the cucumber tea and the bloody mary!
Stayed in the cottage. This hotel really sets the bar high. It has the view, location, great restaurant and best of all staff that go above and beyond. They really are amazing.
Great experience fab night away with my daughter and a brilliant early Christmas present from my children
Wonderful hotel location food attention to detail we had amazing overnight stay
I have stayed here on multiple occasions, never disappointed. Great food and great service complimented by a stunning view over the bay.
Food is Michelin star food, highly commended on that front.
We had the tasting menu with the accompanying matching wine. Everything about it was out of this world.
Location is set with breath taking views, you are hit with the most picturesque view when you enter the lobby.
The hotel bar is a little confused as to what it wants to be. It feels more like a restaurant. Drinks are good though, the Guinness is decent.
Accommodation is comfortable, the view from the bedroom windows is what it is all about. The rooms were clean and nice but far far too warm.
But.
Here's why I'm only leaving two stars.
The rooms are very warm, the windows only open a fraction (understandable when you're on the 5th floor).
The in-room AC is awfully noisy. It sounded like a helicopter, it may have been broken, I don't know.
To sleep with the AC off was far to warm, the room had to have been in the mid to high 20s.
After breakfast the next morning I went to reception to report to them that I experienced a night of little sleep and that I suggest they have the AC checked.
I wasn't expecting a whole lot from reception. I hadn't slept great and there wasn't anything they could do to change that. But I wasn't expecting the reply I got, "well you didn't report it during the night so there's nothing I can do about it now". We had a little back and forth after that but I eventually left reception out of frustration. I was too tired for an argument and it was Christmas.
I'm not going to tell anyone to stay away from this hotel. I had, what I hope was a one off experience and possibly met someone who possibly had a rough as night as I did that night.
Great Company Night Out! Fridndly Experienced Staff, lovely ambiance, 5 star Food
Amazing views and unsurpassed food. Contemporary luxury accommodations, great service, and an awesome setting make this a place I'm hoping to return to soon!
Fantastic experience. Staff were amazing always around but not intruding. Had a fabulous massage in the spa and taster menu was such a great experience.
Spectacular scenery, from the bedrooms, bar & restaurant. Great food, lots of activities in the area.
Fantabulas wonder of genteel winds of the salt filled sea...

I had a wonderful stay here, the views are outstanding and the hotel is beautiful inside. The spa area is very well laid out and the out door hot tub was a lovely. The staff were extremely helpful in every way. The Michelin star restaurant was out of this world, a really wonderful experience, with 5 star service that hasn't lost its Irish charm. Will visit again without question.
Excellent hotel; excellent service; House restaurant outstanding and great view of the sea. Difficult to beat this combination.
One of the most spectacular hotels ever visited. Great for Spa and food also.
Cliff walk is just meters away
I stayed at the Cottage last weekend with four friends. It is so well laid out and appointed with all mod cons. The beds were so comfortable and the views across the bay were stunning. Self catering but the hotel is just down the hill and we had dinner in the Michelin starred House on Saturday night, fabulous! Highly recommended, I plan to return.... soon
This little town is straight up out of your dreams. The hotel is very modern and the restaurant is amazing with very unique dishes. A must is Goat Island.
Fabulous- they even let our little dog be carried through to the terrace overlooking the sea. Service and foI'd top class.
One of the best in the country. So relaxed and amazing kitchen. Gorgeous views. Worth every penny.
Nice spot. Probably needs a bit of TLC I wouldn't rate it five star. Good four definitely but the attention to detail takes away from it being a five
Food and service was gorgeous.
Could not fault the establishment.
The only issue we had was listening to one PAINFULLY snobbish man sitting beside us. I think even the poor staff must have been sick of him.
Lovely hotel and rooms were clean great views not to gone on the menu hard to get parking
An oasis of calm located literally on the sea. #metime
If you don't look like you're about to hand over your wallet you won't be given the time of day.
Absolutely incredible from start to finish! All staff were helpful, friendly and kind! We would have loved to try the house restaurant which is closed due to covid 19, however the food, drinks and service in the bar was excellent! We'll definitely be back!
Beautiful setting, beautiful food, and really friendly staff
Built into a cliff, unique design and use of cliff rock on the walls
We stopped by for tea and scones. Beautiful views. Friendly accommodating staff. Planning on our 50th anniversary to return for an overnight stay. The area is amazing.
One of the best hotels in Ireland. Everything is excellent; staff, food, facilities etc. Rural area of Ireland with great views and walks on your doorstep.
It was a very beautiful location. Staff very good. The food was very disappointing and when it was sent back uneaten and with negative feedback nobody even acknowledged the feedback from 8 of us. Overpriced and very overrated.
Great food in a great location with great staff! We will return . . . :-)
Stayed one night recently. Wow. Top end hotel. Terrific rooms with amazing views. Excellent friendly staff. Food is top end and delicious first class. Bar and staff is excellent. Plenty to do with lovely spa and leisure centre Great walks available all around Ardmore.
Will be back ( if I can afford it)
Worth the money.
Top notch service, food, facilities and location....
Staff were very slow . We had to place our food order twice. Every thing arrived at different times one of our drinks order went to a different table .We were lucky that the place wasn't busy or we would still be waiting on our food, 3 days later
Really nice hotel over looking Ardmore and the sea. Great place for a relaxing lunch and one or two glasses of vino sitting out on the terrace enjoying this wonderful sunshine we've been having. Really friendly staff great food and service lots of attention to detail and great choose on both food and wine menu. Been here a couple of times for food and can not fault it. Worth a visit
Having stayed at another 5 star hotel the previous week the cliff house didnt come close to the excellent standard of the other hotel.
Some Staff were inexperienced and not overly friendly. Room was nice as was the view. Bar is setup more for food(limited menu ok food) than drinks and is overpriced on both not much of an atmosphere there, staff not very attentive as it was hard to get a drink. Pool area was very ordinary. Breakfast was good and staff better at breakfast. I have stayed at better 4 star hotels. Not a 5 star hotel 4star at best.
Brilliant. Fabulous staff and amazing views. Just beautiful.
Stunning sea views from every area of the hotel, professional friendly service and a very high standard of accommodation.
Very enjoyable, food very Tasty. I had Halvik Cod, my wife had Steak sandwich& chips. Beautiful views of Ardmore Bay.
Lovely hotel and Spa. Great views from suite rooms. Bar menu selection is limited, however good restaurant menu.
If you are driving by, stop here for a drink. It's a bit pricey for other places in the area but you are paying for the wonderful view. You can sit on the outdoor eating balcony and enjoy a drink while watching the waves of the ocean.
Beautiful view from the sea! Coffee is very good, but the wrap was burned and wasn't taste!
Beautiful location. Ordered a drink on the terrace for sunset. Waited, and waited ... decided to go in and get the drink myself. Nice staff, but service needs some improvement.
Beautiful as ever and if in Ardmore a must for views elegance and staff wonderful sx
