Outstanding facilities for large conferences. Located right next to the University of Georgia. A lot of interesting shopping and restaurants within walking distance of the event center. Parking for buses is available and several hotels nearby. Facilities are up to date and very clean. Easy to navigate and find different conference rooms.

Great facilities. I ve been here a couple of times for business and technology fairs. Well laid out and maintained and fairly easy to navigate. Multiple sized room can accommodate just about any activity. Parking is ample especially the parking garage across the street. Only issue I could see would be traffic getting here if the activity was huge, but that s everywhere. Definitely a very fine facility that you should enjoy.

A pretty standard convention center that's kept clean. The place is very big, but there is plenty of ways to traverse the multiple levels. It's in historic downtown Athens, so there's a lot to go do around the area too.

Time to get some dirty dancing on. Baby is one listless summer away from the Peace Corps. Hoping to enjoy her youth while it lasts, she's disappointed when her summer plans deposit her at a sleepy resort in the Catskills with her parents. Her luck turns around, however, when the resort's dance instructor, Johnny, enlists Baby as his new partner, and the two fall in love. Baby's father forbids her from seeing Johnny, but she's determined to help him perform the last big dance of the summer.

Nice venue, very nice. Great parking, one of the best. One of the best venues, excellent acoustics, and design. Extremely vibrant downtown Athens, lots to see on foot. Super convention halls. Lovely statue of Athena out front. Clean. Helpful staff. GMEA chose perfectly this venue for hosting All-State band and orchestra performances.

I've been to a variety of different events here: graduation ceremonies, concerts and a conference. This is probably one of the best venues of its kind in Athens. Not only that, but it's perfectly locationed right on the edge of downtown.

Grad school orientation was here. I love close by so I walked and it s right down down, not hard to find. It s connected to the public transportation bus station as well, so that could be convenient for other people wanting to skip paying for valet parking. It was easy to find the entrance and the space was large enough for there to even be empty seats. It didn t smell (some times larger convention type buildings can smell musty - and it wasn t overly cold or hot).

This Athens-Clarke County facility hosts events including weddings, concerts, conferences and cultural activities. Many of the events are ticketed and require a fee, but a fair number are free and open to the public. There are volunteering opportunities for those who want donate their time. While many of the events are free, if you park in the Classic Center lot, there may be a per-vehicle parking fee. As of December 2018 the parking fee for the Athens Master Chorale was eight dollars for our car. So while the event may be listed as free, parking is generally not. The included image is Joseph Napoli, Director of the Athens Master Chorale receiving a ceremonial "key to the city" from Mayor Denson at the Classic Center for providing thirty years of superb classical choral entertainment and education to the people of our fair city.

Beautiful place for concerts, plays, and comedy shows. If you arrive early enough there is parking available - but it'll cost at least $6. Alcoholic drinks are super expensive for not much, and you'll usually need to wait in a pretty long line, and then you're only allowed to order 2 per id.

This is a great venue to host a conference. Around the holidays it is decorated beautifilly. Food is excellent and the staff really go out of their way to accommodate. For example, I was meeting with a group of people in the hallway, two of our group were sitting in the floor bc there were no chairs around. An employee (without being asked) went into the closet and brought out two more chairs!

I just left the Classic Center for the All State Orchestra and Band performances. This is an amazing venue. It is beautiful inside. I wanted to offer advice on traveling to the center. If you re coming from East Broad trying to turn left onto N. Thomas Street, there isn t a left turning light. We sat for almost twenty minutes missing light after light one morning trying to take my son to his rehearsal. Tip: head up Broad and turn left on Pulaski Street then make the first right onto Clayton Street (I think). Then head straight down until it ends at N. Thomas with a light. Turn left and then right into the Classic Center. Hopes this helps someone out next time.

Shamefully my first visit there in all my years living in and around Athens. Very nice convention center. Kind of confusing where everything is, and the events page on their website doesn't list everything that is going on or is available to visitors. I was visiting a gaming event there and could not find any relevant information on their website. But it wasn't a big deal. Also, add more mapping options available around the venue.

Has a big parking lot, even though I'm pretty sure you need to pay, but it is very affordable! It is easy to spot in normal traffic, and isn't hard to get in. People are very cooperative, and understanding. Has a huge stage, many big rooms, and much more that I haven't explored yet! Has great scenery, lighting, and furniture! A classic lovers dream!

This review is strictly for the theater. I have attended two shows here--one was the Nutcracker and one was a comedian--and both shows had issues. For the Nutcracker, the quality audio of the music--prerecorded--was awful. It felt as though the treble was turned waaay up, and it hurt my ears so much that for part of the performance, I feigned propping my head on my hand so I could plug one of my ears for comfort. For the comedian, it was the lighting. The lighting was simply bad: they just had lights overhead so that the light just poured on the performer's head. His face wasn't illuminated at all, which hurt his performance because you couldn't make out his facial expressions, even sitting as close to the stage as we were. I know the tickets are less expensive in Athens, but unfortunately the quality of the show is certainly less than comparable shows I've seen in Atlanta or other cities. So far, we're two for two, so I'm hopeful that the next show we attend will have no quality issues. Otherwise, though, the staff are all very friendly and helpful--I would give them 5 stars.
