Older hotel, but very nice amenities. I made use of the child play area for my son. He absolutely loved it in there. And the kids swimming pool was great, though the sound echoes a lot when a lot of kids are in there. There is also a family play area for the older kids.
The fitness room was pretty nice. Not a lot of free weight equipment. The cable weight equipment was pretty extensive compared to most hotels I have stayed in though. Quite a few treadmills and a nice view of the city from the top floor where the fitness room is. Adult only swimming pool and hot tub were also on the top floor and quite nice.
Service was excellent with friendly staff.

Didn't go in. I had to park outside the front waiting for my guests. It was a nice place to park and the guests found it very easy to get aboard and we drove off to the Niagara area where we had fun all day watching the false and then we went on the horn blower

Rooms are very dated, restroom is not in good shape, and staff wasn't the friendliest for a very overpriced hotel. There are suites / rooms in MUCH better shape available in the same area in 5min walking distance.

Centrally located behemoth of a hotel. Always rooms available. Nothing spectacular (and strange color-coded elevator system), but the rooms are clean, the cost is reasonable, and the staff friendly. Fits the bill for my business trips to the city.

Heated pool and hottub are a great amenity, rooms were clean and warm and provided the best coffee I have ever had in a hotel room. No issues with the free Wi-Fi, breakfest can be delivered to your room, you may rent movies from your television or simply watch cable... at the end of my stay, I had no complaints with the hotel. Great place in the heart of Toronto for an affordable price.

Our recent stay at the Chelsea Hotel was positive for many reasons. The simple decor, paint, curtain and carpet colors were pleasant and relaxing. The room was clean and the white bedding immaculate. Although we were facing Younge Street, there was not a sound and as a result we had a good sleep. There were a variety of good choices for breakfast. Thanks to Eddy, in the lobby, who willingly provided us with clear travel instructions!

I booked a room for one night with two beds for myself and one other person. We arrived a few hours before check in but they still had a room available for us right away. I requested to stay on a lower floor and they accommodated that as well even with the early check in. I chose this hotel even though it was pricier because we wanted a higher end experience as well as the hotel's location. The hotel itself was beautiful. It had 4 entrances that led out to 4 different streets. Everything we did was within walking distance of the Chelsea. We never had to drive or get a taxi. The hotel has 2 pools and one is exclusively for adults only which was amazing. I love kids but being able to swim in a pool without a bunch of splashing and "cannonballing" was really nice. The pool was on a higher floor and included a gym, hot tub, outside tanning deck, a sauna, and changing rooms with lockers that locked with a code you selected. The pool was saltwater too which was really nice beacause chlorine gives me a headache and makes my eyes/skin hurt. The hot tub was also saltwater I believe because there was no smell of chlorine at all. The children's pool had a slide which tempted us a tiny bit . The staff was really nice and very helpful. The room was clean and the beds were comfy. I wish I could remember the name of the Janitor who helped me get to the correct floor for the pool because he was very nice and spoke Russian with me which I loved. It was an overall wonderful experience. Toronto is in a way like New York City and had so much to do just in the immediate area of the hotel. We had a really great time and will hopefully return again soon. Thanks especially to the nice Russian janitor and to the really nice woman who checked us in. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone looking for one in that part of Toronto. 10 out of 5 stars.

Great Location. The hotel rooms could use some upgrades and more attention. Rooms have balconys but not very well finished. Says it's a no smoking hotel but balconies have cigarette buts on them.

If you re going to have a rabbits in a playroom, let them out and play, oppose to being locked in a cage. Provide a proper diet like unlimited hay and appropriate vegetables which doesn t include iceberg lettuce.

Nice hotel in a great location, rooms are nice but a little dated. Mine was very warm, it looked like the air-conditioning was old and so I ended up having to leave the balcony open to cool it down. Staff were helpful and friendly.

We attended the Chelsea hotel because our son will be recieving surgery at Sick Kids next week. The hotel reception staff were wonderful, and the rooms were as advertised. My only holdback is that the street noise is loud for anyone not used to it, and there were some very loud guests in the hallways into the wee hours of the morning, that kept waking us and our 1 year old with a jolt. These are issues that are unable or are difficult for the hotel to control, but still worth considering if you will be staying here. Otherwise, it's a lovely hotel in an excellent location

The entrance and the lobby are beautiful. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a perfect location, close to popular attractions, walking distance or short cab/train rides. The adult pool, gym and hot tub are clean, the changing rooms and organized, room service is quick and delicious. We stayed in a standard room, but for the amount of money we paid we would have liked a nicer room. It was comfortable, but things a simple as a mini fridge or a microwave would have made the stay perfect. We also didn't get much of a view which would have been nice considering we spent a decent amount of time relaxing in the hotel but besides that we loved the location and the staff.

Very small room even for New York. The doors were very very heavy, so any time anyone on the same floor as you left their room, you could hear the door slam loudly. Hard to sleep with the noise of slamming doors all night from people coming in and out of their rooms. Otherwise it was a relatively cheap stay.

When we arrived, our bathroom had hair in it and the shower had recently been used. After reporting it to the front desk and going out of sightseeing, nothing had change after our return hours later. Had multiple similarly bad experiences around the way breakfast is organized. ...and again housekeeping and front desk on other topics. Positive: location!

Location is very good. IT is big and the lobby is good. The staff is ok. Not friendly nut helpfull they are. Parking is expensieve. In the area you van park for the same amount of one day, 7 days in A parking.
Beds too short and too small. The most important and that is why the rate is low. Rooms are Ok but that is it.

Location was Good, close to many necessities. Pool was nice, kid and teen rooms are a great addition. However, room service food was not great - especially for the cost. Next time I stay I will not be ordering food from the hotel.

its a huge hotel. My room had two very comfortable beds and a nice view of downtown Toronto. The room was clean and quiet. The hallway looks a bit dated and the room could use some minor cosmetic repairs, but the stay was very positive. You can't beat the location and the local amenities. I would stay there again.

Really enjoyed my stay. It's very well located, short walk to the mall. Nice room but dated. Pool is heated and was amazing as well as the hot tub. My daughter really enjoyed the water slide (ok, so did I) Very friendly staff.

Located in the centre of the city this large hotel has good value for money rooms. Interior of the rooms is a bit dated but everything is clean and works. Guests during my stay were a lot of airline crews and convention guests. There are a lot of good shops and restaurants around so I did not try the hotel restaurants. There is an adult pool as well as a special children's pool and spa area. The fitness area is relatively small and well used at peak times. Parking garage under the hotel with unlimited in and out privileges. If you are only a overnight parker check out the discounted overnight rates at the two commercial garages next to the hotel this may be cheaper than at the hotel.

Does not even deserve the 1-star rating. We called reception to complain about the room next door to us being very loud with music, drinking and partying at 3:30 in the morning. They assured us they would send somebody from security to check it out. After half an hour, nobody came, so we called again. We did not hear anybody from security coming. For the third call, at 5 in the morning, reception took forever to pick up. They said they would send somebody right up. The rooms has very thin walls separating them. We heard the phone next door ringing and basically just telling them to be more quiet. No security came, not even check how many people were actually in the room and whether they were even hotel guests! Then, the people from the room next door starting banging on our hotel door, angry about the fact that we complained about the noise. We felt unsafe and in danger. Would not recommend, one of the worst hotel experiences we ve ever had.

They charge you for making a local phone call? This place is like Spirit Airlines. Great price and great location but in the end, they get you. Lobby looks updated and modern but as soon as you get off the elevator, you can see it's clearly an older hotel from the 1990's.

The room was somewhat clean with no refrigerator and Walmart accessories here and there. Looks like they gave the bathroom a quick wipe before we came in. Guests here seems to be the younger party crowd, because rates are cheap, so be weary if you don't like that.

Location is good at least as you're located in downtown and walking distance to everything. There is even a male strip club conveniently located across the street. Parking : Have to pay. Fast Internet : Pay up. Oh yeah, I ended up paying $8.00 for 4 phone calls lasting a minute each. Good job

Hotel was nice and clean. I could not connect to WiFi with either my phone or tablet. Only my wife's laptop could connect but only with Internet Explorer. The flat screen TV in our room was on the small side and none of the HDMI or USB ports were allowed to be used with our devices.

Stayed at the Chelsea Hotel floor ten with a king ...

Stayed at the Chelsea Hotel floor ten with a king size bed for one night. I've traveled all over Europe and was shocked to realize that this was the worst Hotel stay I had ever experienced. Not everything is bad for example the pool is nice and the views are great. Also super close to everything. But none of that mattered when I was freezing at night because the heater in the room couldn't keep up with the drafts coming through the doors and windows. Along with a breeze the cracks also let in every street noise possible including the hammering of a compressor at 4:30 in the morning. I went downstairs and walked out in the street to find crews pressure washing windows and sidewalks. I politely informed them how loud it was ten floors up and they apologized and ceased all noise thereafter. I spoke to Brandon who was the night shift manager. When I mentioned the noise he said there was nothing he could have done. I told him that wasn't true because even I was able to take care of it myself. He compensated my terrible stay with a free breakfast voucher and after I pressed him, gave me a free parking voucher. ($35.00 a night to park by the way).

I will never stay here again because as I said to Brandon: you're supposed to sleep better at a hotel than your house, not worse. At the Chelsea, be prepared to not sleep at all.

Edit: We had to stay here again due to the close proximity to the women s college. To help makeup for the bad review and experience the staff offered free parking and free breakfast and a handwritten apology. The stay was better than before. The noise level was reasonable and as always the breakfast was awesome. They promised us a renovated room and it was certainly better than the previous stay but I have definitely seen nicer rooms at motel 6 in Burlington and at a lower price point too.

Used to be a great place to stay. We were very disappointed with our stay this time. The rooms are getting very worn. Wallpaper peeling off, cracking paint, sink slow draining. We wont be staying again until they update.

Beware of thieves in this hotel. On 2nd june 2018, a guy stole a hotel guest s bag from the lobby right in front of our eyes and took off. We chased him but couldn t get him. THE HOTEL SECURITY NEEDS TO STEP UP. Shocking experience. Always hold on to your luggage. Such experiences damage the reputation of the hotel as well as the entire city

Very very big, and always very very busy. Room adequate but "tired" - could do with a refresh. Carpets needed a good clean, and there was a bit of a smell in the room. Same applied to the corridors. Staff very friendly and helpful. Located on a rather dodgy part of Yonge Street (at night) with lots of homeless begging on the streets. But there are loads of eateries and bars on the doorstep, and good transport links. Close to great shopping at Eaton Centre.

Nice lobby but I've never had to wait in a line for 5 minutes to check in after a long day of travel. Staff were nice and the hotel lobby is very cool. Biggest issues were no bill left under my door (or emailed), the wait to check in, ice machine was busted on my floor so I had to go to a different floor and I think most hotels should at least have a mini fridge in the room. The main rooms are a basic as you will find and for the price I'd expect a little bit more. But the location is great, only steps away from the Eaton center. Strong 3 stars but nothing that pushes it higher. I was there on business and I know there is a lot for families.

The Chelsea hotel was great! The hallways seem a little outdated and the breakfast buffet is overpriced, BUT the rooms are affordable compared to other hotels and the location is central and great for sightseeing in toronto! It s super close to Dundas square and Eaton Centre, and has a parking garage.

A very old and tired decor without any personality.
The lobby lacks of direction when you walk to check in. Open space but with big thick columns that obstructs the vision.
We checked in without any issues. Staff were pleasant. We failed to realise that you needed to find the right colour of the lift that will take you to your floor. It took us 20 min to finally get to our room. A little prompt from the check in staff would have helped.
Corridors are dim and badly posted.
Bed is uncomfortable and it was very badly made. Sheets were not pull under the bed and there were creases everywhere.
The balcony is a nice feature but there is no furniture to seat on. A little waste of space.
The bathroom is from the 80s. Looks tired and not so clean as it's colour is fading.
Location is very good, close to transport, supermarkets, restaurants etc.
