Do. Not. Go. Here.

Staff are rude and don t know a thing about plants. Manager will quickly dismiss you. Overpriced. There are better places than this sham.

My wife & I visited the Chelsea Gardener recently, we found all the staff extremely helpful. Everything we bought was as good as expected & the experience was delightful. The manager was especially helpful.

If you live nearby, and are a little lazy, well OK. However there are so many better places nowadays to buy plants, even in Chelsea.
I was not impressed by the variety nor the quality.
I was impressed by the prices! They must appeal to those who just
don't care about the price. It just seems to me a shame that if they are paying top dollar they are not getting tip top quality or selection.

Chelsea Gardener have tended our garden since last summer (2010). They have both knowledge and enthusiasm and focus on the task at hand. There is a refreshing pride in the work that they do. We are happy to give them our unequivocal recommendation.

There are many nice artificial flowers.
The products change with the seasons, and the price is half price. There are some artificial flowers that you don't see in Japan, so I think it's a good souvenir for your return home.

I don't understand why this place hasn't got 4/5 star reviews. Their selection is fantastic for their size. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. I live in Surbiton but I'll be coming here because I love the place.

If this garden centre were anywhere else, it simply would not be in business. You would be hard put to find lazier, less knowledgeable staff anywhere. If you ask for any help, the staff invariably say that they really don't know anything about what they have or don't have, but if you come back in a few days' time. there will be a lot more stock. And the stock is paltry and monotonous. My advice to anyone who wants variety of plants and staff who take an interest in you: head to Ravenscourt Park garden centre. If you want to buy in Chelsea, then even the limited stock at World's End nurseries is preferable to Chelsea Garden Centre, as it comes with a smile.

I bought three plants from this place in August. Soon after, I discovered black dots (I assume aphids) on one of them which multiplied so quickly that the plant wasn't salvageable. I binned it and moved on not thinking much of it but a couple of days ago I found that the second plant was crawling with some type of worms or larvae so I had to throw that one out too. I had done nothing to the plants but water them regularly. I'm now waiting to see if any pests are going to appear on the third plant but I will absolutely not be buying from this place again.

The Chelsea Gardener

The Chelsea Gardener
Address: 125 Sydney St, Chelsea, London SW3 6NR

The Chelsea Garden is an oasis in the middle of Chelsea. It is a place to inspire and innovate ideas. It provides personalized outdoor space planning, providing the best outdoor garden tools, garden necessities, gifts and decorations, plants and flower pots. In addition, it also provides a full range of professional landscape services to help residents create an elegant and comfortable garden environment. The shop was established in 1984 by the second generation of the Fenwick family. In the late 1930s, the family established nurseries in and around Essex. At that time, it was discovered that the people of London actually needed some Professionals came to create better outdoor spaces, such as garden layout, and helped some places take over the layout of special venues. To this day, they still find that the garden is a very important part of life for the people of London, so in order to help them purchase related products more conveniently and quickly, Chelsea Gardens has opened an online store through which many products can be purchased, including some decoration accessories.

Where to start, I guess when you re selling flowers your attitude should match it however that s not the case in this place. In fact it s appalling!! Employees are miserable and are bot bothered. Feels like forced labour.
Terrible customer service sorry let me rephrase it non existent customer service.
Better go to a corner flower place where people are happily selling Flowers.

A great garden centre with a very large selection of plants, seeds, garden furniture, tools and decorations. You will most likely find what you are looking for here. It also has a really nice cafe that is modern and comfortable with some classic cakes and coffee. We gave 4 stars because it is an expensive place probably because it is in Chelsea.

We were on our way to my sisters wedding, our gift we had planned for them ( a beautiful vase), turned out to be a disaster as it arrived smashed to pieces!!! we were absolutely desperate to find a new one, but had no time, this shop was our only hope as it was the only garden centre on the way to the wedding venue, wow! We were absolutely delighted with the service and speed at which we found a replacement even better than the previous vase we had chosen! A special mention goes to the lovely extremely helpful young man Jeremy, who managed to pick us out an incredibly beautiful vase in no time at all, and made both me and my husband feel so at ease. Thankyou to the Chelsea Gardener for saving the day, she absolutely loved the vase!!

Horrible experience at this nursing. First, given ...

Horrible experience at this nursing. First, given the price the quality of the plants is not great. They have a pitifully and dismayingly (given the size of the space) low assortment of plants. The ones they do have often do not come in various sizes (for example they didn't even have basil as part of their herb selection). I knew the prices would be exorbitant but given the proximity to my home and my belief that the quality would be good I went. The place was crawling with staff none of whom showed any interest in helping customers. When one woman (apparently the co-manager) was nearby I tried to get get help with finding a plant that would fit a particular pot (no easy task given the low selection of attractive plants and sizes), but moreover no easy task due to her obvious reluctance to help a customer. As I was speaking to her she continued to tend some plants and once she finally decided it might be appropriate to help I had the feeling I was being rushed (and no there weren't other waiting customers). Instead of listening to the customer she would run around he store leaving me in bewilderment as it where or what she was doing. When I selected a plant (a succulent) and started to pot it into the pot I had brought (bought from this store years ago), she mentioned they had run out of the right soil (oh great) and ended up using something presumably not designed for succulents. I then bought two more pots and some herbs and when I was at the counter asked if they could please pot them (literally a 30 second job of placing the plant in the pot and pouring soil in - at least that is how fast the first woman took with the succulent and something they had last time I was there several years ago). The other co-manager (this time a man) interjected as the cashier was going to organise for this to be done that they don't normally do this. I expressed surprise that they had just done this for me for another plant and had also done it in the past, which then promoted him to say "oh well we can do it tomorrow". He was very arrogant and I honestly felt like leaving everything there and not paying. I said the other woman has just done it for me and it took 30 seconds and it's inconvenient for me to come back again given it can be done so quick. He absurdly insisted that they were too busy with customers to do it even though the store was practically empty and then strangely said it people were away for lunch (it was almost 3:00pm!!!). Then he looked me in the eye and said "I can't do it until tomorrow". Needless to say, I'll never buy another product from this place. If you want to be overcharged and treated poorly by maniacal people on power trips, all while not receiving (in my opinion) a decent selection of quality plants, this is your place. Really not the experience or quality one expects from a "premium" nursery. If I can give a small piece of advise to the owners, your management needs changing. The selection and quality could clearly be much better and moreover the rudeness and generally poor customer service of your "two managers" is appalling. Good luck to you.

We thoroughly recommend a visit to The Chelsea Gardener - it is a quiet and pleasant oasis in the centre of Chelsea with a wonderful selection of plants and gifts and a great team of staff ready to help. It is also the site for David Salisbury's London showroom, where we have a freestanding orangery and contemporary garden room on display. Open 7 days a week, a pleasant welcome is always assured at The Chelsea Gardener - combine it with a coffee and cake from their coffee shop too!

Awful experience. This shop is a scam. Never buy there. I spent over 600gbp and the plant (supposed to leave 1y+) died 4 days later as it was of bad quality and probably with a disease. Super rude and unhelpful staff. Neither a refund or replacement was agreed.
The manager Andrew Kyte should be disciplined and sacked. I am not surprised about the other negative reviews on the rudeness of the staff. Owner of the shop should do something about it as it seems to be a recurring thing.

You are better off buying plants in other neighbouring shops for less cheaper and of much better quality.

However nice the shop may be, please do not rely on them for plant advice as the staff seem to have little or no knowledge. Having found the plant I was looking for on their website (3 in stock) and having exchanged several emails and photographs with Monica I made the one hour journey to Chelsea (and endured the horrors and expense of parking there) only to find that none of the plants was what I was looking for. An effort was made to persuade me that they were indeed the correct plant and has just been mis-labelled. This was very obviously not the case. I was told that the lady in charge of the plant stocks was not in that day but she would try to source the correct plant for me the next day and come back to me. Unsurprisingly I have heard nothing since.

The Chelsea Gardener is expensive, but at least you get the very best in quality. The coffee shop is a lovely addition. The decor is lovely, and you sit on some of the furniture they sell. A good way of trying before you buy. They have delightful Italian staff who really know how to make the very best coffee. The coffee is so good, I had two!

On behalf of my 83-year-old aunt - she bought some plants there recently and not one member of staff offered to help her carry them to a taxi even though she asked. She was told everyone was too busy. She was upset about it and despite me asking for an explanation from the CG I haven't had one.
