Always a smashing good time at the Chance Theater. I've been going here since the mid-eighties and it never gets old. Not a bad seat in the house. The staff is always really cool and it's just a great place to go see your favorite artist.

This was my second time attending a show at this venue.
Halfway through our 4 hour road trip my bother's and I lost our tickets on the thruway.
The staff was helpful and we were able to have TicketFly change our order from Mail Order to Will Call without issue.
The multi-level set up in nice and you are able to see the stage from almost anywhere in the venue. The acoustics are great and the each band sounded wonderful.
$6 for a well mixed drink isn't too bad this close to NYC,

On the other hand, the bathrooms were DISGUSTING, Not overly surprising for a music venue, but 1 of the 4 stalls in the ladies room was clogged with god-knows-what. Only 2 of the stalls stayed closed when you shut them. There were tampon wrappers and bits of TP all over the place, but not a single roll in the holder or on the tank. Also, no soap or paper towels. Each lady had to walk to the bar and take napkins to then return back to the bathroom and wait in line again. Even after notifying the bartender and security nothing was done about it.

I'll definitely be back, but I'll be holding it.

I went this past weekend to see a friend's band play here. I was impressed by the venue, which was nice and open and had two different floors. It was easy to see the stage from just about anywhere, which is always a plus. Drink prices were also very reasonable. The sound was decent. Great place for live music.

So....freakin'....awesome! It was my first visit to Poughkeepsie ever and I just happened to catch the Black Flag show at the Chance. Very intimate, just a cool mini-theater. You can sit or stand or hang out at the bar. Acoustics and sound system are perfect for the venue (translation: LOUD). If they ever add draught beer I'll upgrade to 5 stars.

The show was great.Only complaint, which is a constant, too hot inside. Please use your fans or AC. It's unbearable. And put tables and chairs upstairs and serve food. This place can be so much better

Awesome venue. A little beat-up, but that's good, who needs aesthetics for live music? Very cozy, saw Spoon, at probably one of the smaller venues they've played in some time. Fun vibe and good stuff all around.

Visited for the last Dokken show, I knew about this place for years and just visited for the first time, my only complaint would be that took a full hour from last opening band to headliner to go on but sound and view of the stage are great.

Very cool venue. On the smaller side so it gives a very intimate concert experience. Great sound and the prices for drinks aren't as bad as most venues. Security was a little crazy but all in good works.

I went to this theater tonight to see Queen Flash. I have to say that the group was great and I would go see this group again, however, at another venue. This venue was a huge disappointment to me and I believe it was a huge disappointment to the group playing. It was probably an embarrassment to the group. Let me explain. There must have been only about 30 people in the audience. The Chance theater is dirty, it smells, and the equipment that the group was using, as far as speakers and microphones were faulty. The feedback was awful, the microphones kept going in and out and I think because of that the group had to cut their show short. Not to mention, they were probably disgusted having to play for only 30 people. This group is too talented for that. I believe it is the venue that is not bringing people in. For such a small venue, they should be packed. Now, getting back to the venue. My husband and I paid for VIP tickets, when we were told by the cashier this would be a busy event and seating would be upstairs, as we were guaranteed seats. They never even opened up the balcony because there was so very little people at this event and it seems as if we paid $50 a ticket for nothing. I really want my money back as far as a VIP seating is concerned, as we could have paid general admission. I feel we will led on and ripped off!! Never again!!
