i had never heard of the Carter Center until i received a solicitation in the mail. Checked Charity Navigator and they have top ratings--more than 90% of their proceeds go to programs. I've become a fan! another plus is that they dont DUPLICATE work that's been done by others. Take a look at their webpage--an impressive organization!

Nifty little museum, made me respect this president a lot more. He'll also sign any of his books and mail it back to you if you leave it and fill out a form. Beautiful walking grounds around the museum.

Have not visited the Center because I live on the west coast now, but reviews sound wonderful and I will certainly visit if I go back to the East Coast. Didn't think much of him as president cannot comment on anything else, but can say his accomplishments since his presidency have been phenomenal. He has handled his life with grace and integrity. My hats off to him.

Beautiful place to visit as always. Some construction underway but manageable. Went for the Bill Duke book signing. Nice crowd. Really gracious host. Nice places to eat in walking distance. Even in the pouring rain The John Lewis Freedom Parkway is a lovely location to visit in Atlanta. And the staff at the Carter Center are always so helpful. It s a must go destination.

When I visited the Carter Center, I was deeply moved by exhibits on what it took for President Jimmy Carter bring Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and Egyptian President Anwar El Sadat together in the Camp David Accords. Begin demanded that every minute detail be clear. Sadat preferred only the grand sweep of principle. Carter went back and forth between them, patiently taking notes and mediating. Since his presidency, he has continued in peacemaking. As he blessed all of us in this work, may he and his family be blessed as he battles melanoma. As Jesus said: "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God."

Very interesting. The Carter administration is not something most people know much about, and I was happy to learn about it from the very well done, informative exhibit. Lots of information, and it seemed well-balanced.

Totally worth the trip out. Despite being a one term president, he had a very interesting time in office and had an interesting perspective on how politics should work. He had a more interesting life outside of office and continues to do great work, which you can support by visiting.

Jimmy Carter was the best president we've had in decades. He was the most intelligent, the most ethical, and the least ego-driven. Nor was he a corrupt warmonger like George W. Bush. Instead of making big-money vacuous speeches like Bush, Jimmy Carter spends his time trying to help the world. I pray for Jimmy that he will live a long and productive life.

I like president Carter and it was a mandatory for me to visit the center when I went Emory medical school for my daughter's matching day for residency as a doctor. The place was rather loney with beautifully maintained garden etc. The garden has many of donors' contributions. I wish the center thrives as the president and numerous donors' spirits will radiate to whole world and brighten all of us and following generations.

Enjoyed my time here visiting with colleagues from habitat for Humanity from around the world to appreciate a man who has done so much to further our cause. Was plain to see why and how all roads led to the presidency and then to Habitat ambassador. From such an early age Jimmy picked up the work ethic and values from people he surrounded himself with. Nice scenery and statue outdoors. Completely random movie memorabilia section which I didn t understand..and was a stretch to link to JC but I believe this was a temporary display

We attended Strange Saturday highlighting the Ga Film Exhibit. Loved all of it! They had Leopold s ice cream for sell in the gift shop that you can normally only get in Savannah. The event was well organized and the film exhibit was fun. It was also neat to see the Oval Office from when he was in The White House. Adults are $12, children (the age is pretty high) are free. Definitely go see the Ga Film Exhibit.

Great place to visit and spend a day or two for everyone who interested in political history, China and US relationship (starting 40 years ago). As part of class of 77 of Chinese college graduates in Atlanta, we are so proud of being a witness for history making and life changing experience!

The foundation carter center is a good foundation, which has marked me on all levels and above all, the goal that it has set as a major target, conflict resolution.
A theme, which must be popularized wherever education is undeveloped or environments that have produced few intellectuals and those who should be favored and help to rise by building men aware and able to act in accordance with democracy and laws on the way.

Love why this building was made! Incredible history not only about Jimmy Carter but about the United States. The grounds are also beautiful, we got some family pictures taken there! They even have a revolving exhibit in the museum, when I went it was props from tv shows in movies filmed in Georgia, like Stranger Things, Avengers, The Walking Dead, Remember the Titans.

While I'm quite fond of President Carter and everything he stands for, including his unapologetic Christian attitude, I'm quite certain he would be disappointed to learn that some of the people he has entrusted to staff and run his wonderfully conceived organization are "nothing" like him.... when people present themselves there to be considered for employment and desiring to be apart of his ( Carter's) vision , they are met with indifference and hostility. Not at all representative of the man and woman who founded the center. Quite sad and ironic.

I have visited The Carter Center and read a lot about its work. I think it is one of the most worthwhile charities that there is: attacking and even eliminating (guinea worm begone!) neglected topical diseases, monitoring elections, working on mental health issues including for our own veterans -- what's not to like here?

Do yourself a favor, and visit here whether you think you would like it or not. We just visited the Carter center for the first time. I have never been a fan of Jimmy Carter, and honestly wasn't very interested.
The Carter Center changed my mind! Not only is the place very well laid out, the story of Jimmy Carter is riveting. Do yourself a favor, and look into a man with one of the worst presidential reputations, who has done surprisingly more for good, then I ever imagined. That being said, the museum is very well laid out, and all the subject matter inside is interesting and Interactive. I was shocked that even my seven-year-old had enough to do that was interactive to keep him occupied! There is a good flow to the museum, and the information is very positive! What a refreshing opposite from the norm. Do yourself a favor, and visit here whether you think you would like it or not. If you walk in with an open mind, you will not be disappointed!

Have traveled to several of the President's libraries. The difference with the Carter Center is that it is a functioning center with a compassionate purpose. Wish we had more time to spend and explore. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful.

About The Carter Center

The Carter Center is a renowned non-governmental organization that has been working tirelessly to improve the lives of people across the globe. Founded in 1982 by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn, the organization has made significant contributions towards resolving conflicts, advancing democracy, and preventing diseases.

One of the primary objectives of The Carter Center is to promote peace and resolve conflicts around the world. The organization has played a crucial role in mediating peace talks between warring factions in various countries such as Sudan, Ethiopia, and Liberia. Through its conflict resolution programs, The Carter Center aims to create sustainable peace by addressing underlying issues that fuel conflicts.

Another critical area where The Carter Center has made significant strides is in advancing democracy worldwide. The organization works with governments and civil society organizations to promote free and fair elections, strengthen democratic institutions, and protect human rights. In many countries where democracy is still fragile or under threat, The Carter Center provides technical assistance to help build strong democratic systems.

In addition to promoting peace and democracy globally, The Carter Center also focuses on preventing diseases that affect millions of people worldwide. Through its health programs, the organization works towards eradicating neglected tropical diseases such as river blindness and Guinea worm disease from some of the poorest regions on earth.

The success of The Carter Center can be attributed to its unique approach towards problem-solving. Rather than imposing solutions from outside or taking sides in conflicts or political disputes; it seeks first-hand knowledge about local conditions before developing strategies tailored for each situation.

The center's work has earned it numerous accolades over time; including several Nobel Peace Prize nominations for President Jimmy Carter himself - who remains actively involved with their work even after leaving office - as well as recognition from other international organizations like UNESCO (United Nations Educational Scientific Cultural Organization).

In conclusion:
The impact that "The Cater Centre" makes on global issues cannot be overstated; they have been instrumental in promoting peace-building efforts around the world while also working tirelessly towards improving democratic governance systems through their technical assistance programs aimed at strengthening institutions responsible for upholding these values.
Their health initiatives are equally impressive; they have helped eradicate some neglected tropical diseases from some parts of Africa while also providing much-needed support during outbreaks like Ebola.
Overall "The Cater Centre" continues making a positive impact globally through their unique approach which prioritizes understanding local conditions before developing tailored solutions aimed at creating sustainable change rather than just short-term fixes
