Saw the Disco Biscuts here a while back. Great venue with a lot of cool visual possibilities.
Saw the Disco Biscuts here a while back. Great venue with a lot of cool visual possibilities.
The best place for a live show anywhere north of Manhattan
As The Crow Flies. Great music, great venue, love this place.
Incredible place to see all your favorite bands in a local environment
This is my hometown venue and I love it. Sometimes it's hard leaving Port Chester because there is so much great music playing here
It was nice didn't like standing for the whole concert. Felt like it would've accommodated the same amount of people with the chairs
Best place in the area to catch a show. Great facility with phenomenal sound. Catch a show there!
Great place to see music, very nice bar and plenty of craft beer.
What an amazing venue to see a show, and such a rich history of musical acts performing there too! I went to see Pink Talking Fish's Junta Circus general admission. There was a lot of room to walk around, the sound was great, the vibes were great. What a great memory!
I will never go back. I was there with my wife and kids (over 18) and a group of old friends and was rudely asked to leave for "buying" to many drinks. The whole experience was embarrassing and unnecessary. After sharing my story I have gotten feedback from other concert goers of similar situations. It appears they hire uneducated unreasonable people who's life accomplishment is being a bouncer at a mid level concert hall.
Friendly staff, fun venue, reasonably priced beers - no complaints.
Awesome venue. Not a bad view from anywhere inside.
Great sound saw O.A.R General seating able to be close to the stage
The Capitol is a fantastic place to see a show; holding only around 1800 people, its a perfect venue to get close to the artists. You can grab a beer and enjoy the show too. Good restaurants around as well.
One of the best indoor concert venues I have ever been to. The inside is plenty spacious to the point where I never felt crowded, and the classical architecture is absolutely stunning. Highly recommend seeing a show here!
It's the Cap! What a terrific venue for shows. Surrounding area has many good restaurants.
Beautiful 1920's theater. Best Bluegrass in the world by the Del McCoury band. Multigenerational audience.
Very lucky to have good place close to home. Sometimes the security can be a bit pushy especially in the general admission/ floor area.
a beautiful old theater, but the seats had too little leg room.
The 'Cap' is my favorite mid size venue in the tri-state region. Parking is always available within a couple of blocks and the nearby area has great restaurants. The building itself is beautiful and its rock and roll history esp for jam banders is unmatched. Garcia's bar as part of the ground level makes the experience complete! The staff and ushers are the best.
Without The Capitol Theatre in Westchester we wouldn't have a solid venue for great musicians to perform. I've seen at The Capitol: Bob Dylan, Snoop Dog, Toots and the Maytals, and many other talented artists.
Listen...I've seen a lot of shows in my time. Too many to count, but if you're counting...it's like 532. And the most important part of ANY show isn't who's playing, how they sound, who you're with, or any of that. Trust me when I tell you, the VENUE defines the show. An amazing venue can make the worst sounding pile of crap enjoyable, and a terrible venue can ruin a perfect performance.
And to be honest, there about 10 time more venues than I hate than ones I love. I'm pretty picky I think, and at this point in my life I rarely find a venue that makes it to the top of the list. The Capitol Theatre did, and does...and is.
Everything from the location of the place, the lobby, the layout of the bars, the fancy staircases and chandelier, literally...everything makes this place awesome. Staff was some of the friendliest I've ever dealt with, drinks were well made and reasonably priced, even the parking was awesome.
Of course, the 2 most important things about a venue are the views and the sounds. Granted, I was only here once, and it was an acoustic show...but we did enough roaming around to get a good feel for the sound. And it was amazing, everywhere. Same with the views. We were in row 5 on the floor, so...obviously good view there. But we went up to the few of the balconies and higher seats and literally couldn't find a bad seat in the house.
The place has like an amazing old world charm, and it's really one not to be missed. If you ever get the opportunity to experience it, I'd suggest you jump at it. And if you decide to create yourself an opportunity...then even better!
Classic theatre with some cool projection mapping on the roof
I traveled from Spain to see The Black Crowes on 10/21/2013 and the truth is that I left the concert delighted. The site as such is a pass, the beautiful theater, an incredible acoustics and a magnificent decoration. The theater staff who attended us at the door upon arrival (a blonde lady and a gentleman) as friendly and pleasant as you can find.
I hope I can come back one day and repeat experience.
100% recommended if you have the opportunity to see a show there.
The very best there is. My favorite venue on the east coast. Thank you Peter S.
Good vibes. Always a Rock'in good time at the Cap and Garcia's, love the selection of beer on tap.
Awesome what can I say? If you haven't been you must be asleep. Garcia's is amazing
Literally the worst experience I've ever had at a venue. My boyfriend was attacked by another man in the crowd, for "being in his spot" (there are no seats), and we were both thrown out before the second song. Not my problem this man was angry, but apparently we were still unworthy of seeing the show. Drove two hours, got a hotel room, and paid for tickets, but the capitol theater can't do anything for us. Venue was beautiful but the staff is not concerned for anyone's safety.
Great Going There With FAMILY AND FRIENDS HANG OUT AND ENJOY - AMAZING CONCERTS!
Minus one star for Banjo Butt at Ryan Adams show... Amazing $250 2nd row seats ALL for a Rear View of the Banjo player at a legendary show... NEXT!
Shorty was so kind to me when the Decemberists were playing. I had a medical emergency, and she treated me with dignity, compassion, and respect. I m fine - but I ll never forget her kindness and caring that night. I wish I had posted this sooner. Thank you!
Don't know why it was only three before. Loved the venue.
Music music music. Throw in a Meyer rig and it would be even better
In definite need of a face lift but love the old character and the fox running around the theater.
Love this theater. Staff is great, lineup is great. They even have a decent beer selection.
The Capitol is the best. I don't have a reason to go anywhere else for concerts! Staff is incredibly nice and helpful. Always an enjoyable experience!
One of NY's Greatest Venues in the 'burbs! Restored to it's glory and man has it delivered! Boasting the best line ups around. Drinks are reasonably priced (as concert venues go) and there's even waitress service to some areas. Steps from the Metro North train station makes this super convenient from anywhere! Head to Garcia's for the post show concert too!
Adorable little theater. Saw Norah Jones play here, pretty decent venue with an old world almost French Quarter vibe. Beautiful, comfortable, very cool.
Unequivocally the best venue in Westchester. Thank you for existing. Thank you for raising the bar in every way possible.
Great venue, awesome scene. Saw my favorite podcast, Last Podcast on the Left, perform there. Wild experience.
I really loved this venue, it's a real throw back to all the old classic theatres. It's a great place to see a show as there isn't a bad seat in the house. Parking is a little tough here so come early. And make sure you visit Garcia's the bar that's attached.
This venue is absolutely gorgeous, the architecture is incredible, the vibe is positive and easygoing. The floor section of the venue slopes to ensure that everyone can enjoy the view. Very good experience at this venue while listening to my favorite band live.
Cool looking venue. About 6 bars inside kept beer lines short
One of my favorite venues in the tri-state area. Great sound and sightlines
Intimate venue. Beautifully restored back to it's original glory, dripping with history! Epic acts, awesome shows! Not a bad seat in the house!! My favorite venue of all time!!
super fun venue with nice bars around for before a show... pretty and we'll maintained! had a blast and they had awesome beers on tap
The space is beautiful. The acoustics aren't the very best of all the places of I've been to but not annoyingly bad either. Very close to the train station back to NY if needed. I enjoy coming to this venue for concerts. Amazing mexican restaurant a couple of stores down.
The greatest theater for music there ever was. The place is magical.
First time there was December 21st for Del Mccoury. Ticket was a gift from a friend. GREAT GIFT!!! Awesome show in an absolutely beautiful and historic venue. Even the staff were fantastic. I'm definitely going back soon. If you get a chance definitely go. You won't be disappointed.
Nice small place to see a show. They need to sell more food and less alcohol. Way too much booze!!!
Love the Cap. Wood Brothers sounded amazing and what better surroundings for Big Mic!!
Great venue. Beautiful and historic building with great sight lines and acoustics.
Great small venue. Good sound and every seat is good. Very nice people work there too. Check out the Mexican restaurant next door. Great food and drinks!
I love the capitol theater! It's a little bit of a hike for me but I still absolutely love going up there! I've learned after my first two shows to get balcony seats as the floor usually gets really crowded and hot. The balcony is great and in my opinion it has better sound there! Most of the staff are dead heads and jam music fans so it's great to chat with them. Always a great time here and always a great crowd.
The best venue for live music in Westchester County
The best place to see a show bar none. Sounds and lighting are incredible
We love the Capitol theatre
it's filled with long history of rock and roll's greatest bands including the Grateful Dead, Frank Zappa, The Allman Brothers just to name a few ..
Pete Shapiro has done an amazing job renovating the historic theater
the sound is wonderful
the atmosphere is fantastic
So many amazing bands to see
year and year out
