My family loves this place. All the employees are super energetic and always super nice to my son and all his random questions. If you have young kids and live within 30 min I would suggest getting an annual family pass so you can stop by any time. We usually go 2 or 3 times a month for some fun after swim lessons.

Not worth for money. Butterfly park and bug exhibits are good but entry is expensive. Garden trials are not maintained well and are completely dried. Even the play area inside is very small.

There are two types of people in this world: people who love butterflies and monsters. By that definition, unfortunately, I am a monster. The room was hot and full of butterflies which was not entirely unexpected.

Great learning experience for adults and kids alike. We got a pass connected with the children s museum for my son. The play area is good but it is difficult to see your child when they are up in the tree house part. We enjoyed looking at the marine and bug exhibits as well as walking in the butterfly area.

It's a rip off, basically two small rooms and one big room with live animals the fourth has a lot of dead insects, you would think for how expensive it is they would have a lot more, save your money and take your kids somewhere else.

Good time for us adults and our 2 year old. The only reason I would say 4 stars is for the adults there doesn't seem to be a lot drawing you back after that first visit. Definitely worth going once!

This is a fantastic place for both kids and adults. Not just butterflies, but a whole host of various exotic critters. And the butterfly space is simply filled with the things. Bring a camera and spend a couple of hours!

Fun educational trip for the kids to see all kinds of bugs, butterflies, and even sea creatures. I love being surrounded by all the colorful butterflies in the butterfly area! It's warm and humid though, so dress accordingly.

I recently started volunteering at the butterfly pavilion, and the staff is so nice, kind, and patient. We many great animals to see, such as Rosie, our infamous chilean rose haired spider, and our sea stars and horseshoe crabs that you can touch. The butterfly room ( wings of the tropics) in my opinion, is a great experience for guests of all ages to experience the diverse life of butterflies. We have many, many learning opportunities and you will not be disappointed with your visit. We also have a play area where children can learn even more. After all, playing is the best way to learn.

Insects, live sea creatures and an indoor arboretum with butterflies. There are also exhibits of non living insects. Busy on weekends. Gift shop and outdoor food stand on premises. A bit cramped to see exhibits when busy. Good for family outing. Wheelchair and stroller accessible.

My 2.5 year old could have watched the bees come and go from the hive for hours. I finally had to tear him away because I wanted to hold the tarantula. Butterfly Pavilion covers many invertebrates, not just butterflies. They have a creepy crawly room, sea creatures like an octopus and sea stars you can touch. We didn't even get to all the rooms during our 2 hour visit. We got a membership since we aren't far away and it's a good pop-in entertainment for young ones. They recommended if you are coming individually that you come after noon because the school groups come in the morning. There was a group while we were there but we were able to avoid the large group for most of the time except in the butterfly house itself. Check online schedule before you go for specific events like story time.

What a beautiful peaceful loving family friendly place. The membership pays itself off in 2 visits just for 2 people adult and child. It is educational, a mental break with all the zen butterflies and the garden outback is beautiful. There is a day pass to go and come back and perks for being a member. Highly recommend. I hope they stay in Westminster!!!

Unique place that let's you see bug type wildlife up close. Most specimens are in separate 3-ish foot enclosures that let you get just the right view. They change some of them (smaller enclosures) regularly, so it is worth coming back every other month or so. Also have a small ocean exhibit to highlight how some bugs are related to ocean life. You get to see coral, horseshoe crabs, starfish, and other critters. And then there's the "butterfly room". A walk-through room with HUNDREDS of butterflies. All different species, sizes, and colors. This place is great for people and kids that aren't freaked out by bugs. I HATE spiders, and I was even able to hold Rosie (smaller desert tarantula). Definitely worth the visit at least once, and even regularly for local folks.

Nice fun place to bring kids. I just think it is overpriced for the size. I bought it as an add-on to the Denver childrens museum membership, which made it more worthwhile. Nice place to spend an hour (maybe 2), but probably not more than that.

This place was WAY cooler and more fun than expected! We had an amazing time & the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They also have a really unique shop inside and I had to leave with a bunch of goodies. I usually never buy at gift shops, but everything was fair priced and beautiful! Definitely worth checking out for all ages.

Cute place but lacking butterfly variety and quantity! We've been to other butterfly pavilions that were loaded with many butterflies. This facility was really needing to refresh and restock. A bit disappointing for the admission price.

This place scores high even if it were just a butt...

This place scores high even if it were just a butterfly pavilion... but that's just a third of the place! There's a bug and arachnid zone, where you can have Rosie, a tarantula, safely walk/sit/walk across your hand. They explained why she's so safe and friendly, and as an engineer, I find their logic to be perfectly sound. By the way, this an all areas easily afford the space for people to roll double strollers and still have other visitors freely move around.

The butterfly pavilion is spot on. Temperature/moisture/etc controlled to afford a perfect and sometimes invasive experience. It's only invasive if you're a two-year-old and all of a sudden decide today butterflies landing on you is too scary. Fine every other, just not today...

There is also a sea life zone, to include the trickiest octopus we've seen, and a touch area (of course with the associated paper towels and hand sanitizer). There are many other displays, but these are our favorite.

Lastly, before the gift shop and affordable cafeteria, there's a huge area where you can cleanly play with worms in dirt... you'll see. Tons of birthday parties are held here, both indoor and outdoor facilities, and all the kids and parents come out so happy. It's just too far for us to plan a celebration there. Oh, and there's also an indoor playground and outdoor garden area where you can easily enjoy a 15 minute walkabout.

Value-wise, I can't really tell. We had a gargantuan discount because we are Children's Museum members, but we have easily paid off the amount of family membership for sure, and every visit has been wonderful.

This is a gorgeous place to go. It was recommended to me by some of my coworkers, and I'm so glad I had a chance to go while I was in Colorado. Its a great education center for several different types of insects, bees, spiders and of course butterflies. It's pretty cool to walk around the butterfly area. If you're pretty still one of the butterflies may land on you. Great place to go with kids.

What a great place to learn, have fun, and enjoy nature all at the same time! The kids always enjoy visiting, almost as much as I do! The butterflies were extremely active, which made for tons of laughs and great pictures. Parking can be tough, usually stick to the overflow lot.

This place is relatively small in size but has a fair amount of things to do and see. It is very kid friendly of you kid likes bugs and or butterflies. There are some smaller exhibits with beetles and spiders. There is Rosie the tarantula you can hold. There are some smaller aquariums to see. The butterfly area is fairly big and open. There are a ton of different ones that openly fly around. There is a education area in the back. There is a pretty good sized nature trail that really depends on the time of year to see what is blooming or growing. The staff is pretty interactive and informative. There is a big push here for conservation and education.

The best! And I've been to many! This location goes above simple butterfly viewing but also offers a petting of Rosie the tarantula and starfish and they are very kind and helpful. They have the most butterflies I have ever seen one carry and its photographer friendly - as you can get very very close to them to take incredible shots of realistic backdrops of flowers and vines and pond... very nice.

Really enjoyed exploring here with our three year old. Staff is super willing to teach and comes up and starts educating and pointing things out without our even having to ask. Excited to go back in the spring!

This a most amazing place if you want to learn about all manner of insects, butterflies, and similar creatures. Faacinating, well put together exhibits that visitors of all ages will find stimulating. The butterfly room itself is one of the best I've ever seen. Staff is especially knowledgeable and helpful. Well worth a stop. I'd say allow a couple of hours.
