Beautifully maintained gardens with stunning display of colours from flowers (even in Autumn). Interesting history too. Arrive early to avoid the coach loads of tourists!

Beautiful and fabulous only downside everyone was taking "selfies" and blocking walkways for others
Stunning , Great staff. Fantastic Christmas lights,
Awesome garden, well maintained... Nice falls color...
Amazing and unique. Best botanical garden and largest array of plants, flowers and beautiful landscape design I have ever witnessed. Plan to spend several hours when visiting Butchart Gardens.
It's such a beautiful garden here. Worth going to see. Although the entrance fee might seem steep ($31 pp), it's definitely worth going at least once. There's such a huge variety in flowers, plants and trees. The pictures really don't even do it justice. Highly recommend to check out if you are in the Victoria area.
Well maintained. Beautiful flowers. Three different cafes. Interesting backstory. Worth the visit.
The gardens were pretty amazing but the dolls are scary as
Visited yesterday. Immaculate! However, roses and dahlias are not yet in bloom.
Enjoyed this place. It seemed small for the price and not everything was in bloom - obviously, since we went in October.
Gardens were beautifully designed, and you can buy seeds there as well which is pretty cool.
Nice place yes definitely but for someone visiting it for first time I was overwhelmed with how crowded it was. It was hard to take a photo and the pathways were narrow with so many people who needed assistance or were on wheelchairs so we had to keep moving to get out of everyone s way. If I would visit again I would go after 5 pm as it was much better .
Sensational! A must if you travel across to Victoria on Vancouver Island.
So many beautiful plants and flowers. I would love to go back and visit it again in the future.
Beautifully designed and executed formal gardens. A bit pricey and a little crowded near the beginning of the paths but if you like flowers and trees it should definitely be on your list.
The gardens were beautiful in the height of the summer. I got the sense the Japanese garden would be even more beautiful in the fall. My partner and I spent about three hours there but you could easily spend all day if you wanted to.
Butchart gardens are beautiful. These are not as big as Longwood gardens near Philadelphia but these are super beautiful. Do see my review of their dining dining room and their superb tea service. How long does it take to see them? It depends- with bad knees and having tea (about 1 hour), we saw everything in 4 hours. Do expect to take tons of photos. Here are a few. We were there on September 4th and all the flowers were in bloom. We did take a 13 hour tour from Vancouver (Landsea tours) that I recommend.
An incredible "must see" if you're in Victoria, BC.
Absolutely beautiful. Fantastically maintained gardens. Can get very busy!
Very beautiful scenery. The gardens are well kept and a lot of different areas to check out. The food is a little pricey but the entrance admission is only 35 bucks (CAD).
Nolan gave an amazing boat tour! Danielle was super friendly and awesome too! Loved the octopus sighting!
Yeah this place is alright. But they need a local insensitive to bring LOCALS into the park. You get enough tourists I'm sure you can afford to give a discount. I live 10 mins away... yeah sure tourist in your own town is a thing but why should we wait in line for hours?? Cut down on the 100 people directing traffic and look into some local insensitives.
It is the first time we skated on the ice. The workers are so helpful and friendly. My kid enjoyed it so much.
Incredible! The most magnificent gardens I have ever seem. The sunken garden is my favorite. It is breathtaking.
Gorgeous and quite large but not so huge that you get lost or can't get back to the entry in a reasonable amount of time. Has many different "moments" within each individual area allowing you to experience different aspects and views from just off the path. The Japanese garden is filled with contemplation spots, while the sunken garden offers majestic views, and the Rose garden intimate impressions.
Turning an old quarry into a sunken garden is something you have to witness for yourself. Beautiful!!
Amazing place. So beautiful. Take pictures of the flowers you would want and they have someone at the information center who will tell you what they all are and you can buy seeds there or when you get home.
Thoroughly enjoyed visiting. Make sure to set aside enough time. We were on a tour and only had about 90 minutes. Could have spent a few hours there!
One of the highlights of our visit to Canada. Beautiful and lush.
Green, green and green everywhere. Well maintained park.
Loved this place. I am not a gardener or lover of flowers at all yet this place was awesome. Maybe after all the isolation nature was the therapy I needed.
The weather was anything but inviting, but, it did not detract from the beauty of the gardens. The staff are helpful and friendly. The gift shop was worth the trip alone while their prices made it even more attractive. Thank you to the staff.
Stunningly beautiful! The flowers were really great and I especially enjoyed the sunken gardens!
We had family come into town so that we could visit the gardens and were denied entry because I was in a white summer dress and my partner a grey suit without a tie. We were told we were overdressed and would be distracting to the other guests. Apparently attire resembling a wedding is not allowed to enter the gardens, however this dress code is not listed on their website. I am not sure that we will ever go back as a result by if we do we will be sure to wear our scrubbiest clothing. We spoke to three levels of management and they made us wait in the parking lot for over 30 minutes before their PR person made a decision.
We were only able to spend a couple hours there in the evening due to our cruise schedule, but it was still breathtaking!
The ever changing colours, scents and beauty of the gardens are more than could be described by my words.
Gorgeous! But heaven will be 1,000 times more beautiful!
"But as it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.
I Corinthians 2:9 NKJV
Wow wow wow. I've know about this all my life (it seems), and I was expecting a lot, but wow, it was better than anything I could imagine. Since getting back home I've been recommending going to Victoria to anyone that will listen just to go to the gardens.
We were there 2 hours and did not see it all. It was breath taking. The beauty made me emotional.
The Butchart Gardens are a very interesting experience, the Japanese gardens are the best. The loss of a star is for the very large crowds, and the gelato is overpriced but both of those things are to be expected.
This place is amazing! Different things to see every single month. Definitely worth visiting.
Beautiful and well maintained. Paths are easy to walk on and no section is boring
The Garden is nice. The tickets for adults are overpriced. If you have a toddler, you can spend upto 4 hours here. Not much variety or artwork. An average place.
I cannot believe we almost didn't go here! I had no idea it was going to be this great! Recommend to everyone! A must see!
Visited here few years ago and was completely fascinated by this beautiful garden! It's a ~30 minutes bua ride from Downtown Victoria so not too bad. Definitely check out the Bog Garden and Japanese Garden.
Beautiful site with lots of variety. The information center will actually tell you the names of flowers you've seen, the rose garden is crazy busy. And the gift shop got me with some seriously beautiful art that had nothing to do with flowers and gardens. Would happily visit again
What an incredible and beautiful place. One can not describe the beauty.
I will have to come back!
Beautiful place to visit especially with the winter wonderland theme.
An amazing place, not to be missed but a bit far from the city and difficult to get to. It is still worth it.
Great place to visit and just take a stroll and see all kinds of plants esp. flowers!
Absolutely beautiful and free to military members, everyone needs to see it once.
Beautiful place to visit! Amazing colors and displays of plants and flowers. We could have spent hours there.
Amazing displays / scenery even in winter months. Pricy. Food offerings nothing amazing and slightly expensive. Beautiful walk though
The is a great respect of covid rules and the staff is great! The gardens are magnificent and make for a great visit even during the pandemic
Beautiful grounds with wonderful flowers and foliage.
Amazing holiday treat! Glad we came all the way here from Seattle. Loved everything about it. Might consider making it a tradition.
Have to visit in all seasons , i loved spring flowers and lights at night then summer lite up night scenery .
Went for the Christmas show. So beautiful...fills you with wonder.
Expensive, but well worth it. Staff is knowledgeable, view is spectacular. The only downside is that it was crazy busy, but that's what happens when you go during summer holidays! I got some incredible photos, and had a beautiful date day with my man.
A really nice night out. Great exercise with lots of eye candy
One of the most beautiful classic gardens on the country.
The Japanese garden manages to be serene even as multiple groups wander it's paths. It is definitely my favourite garden, though the sunken garden is breathtaking!
Despite being busy, the gardens still offer small moments and spaces where you are alone and marvelling at the beauty that can be created by man's hands.
This is a must to see if you've got time you will need at least three or four hours to enjoy and see all the flowers and waterfalls that they have created it's awesome
Very nice garden & can see great work of gardeners & those management people. If time permits, will try to plan visits again during better blossoming season.
The Rose Garden . Yiu have to smell all the roses. The Poet's Wife is my favorite variety
Most beautiful place with so many flowers and trees. Worth the time and money. Unforgettable.
Fantastic gardens! Peaceful, lovely and has lots to see!
Beautiful as it is today, it will change its look!, to a new beautiful!, as all changes from season to season. An old quarry, has sure turned into, a most stunning display of gardening. Just come and you will never forget.
It's amazing. A must see. But quite pricey and getting to Victoria is a fortune, honestly.
One of my favorite places in Canada. We loved this place.
Spectacular fragrances & immaculately groomed gardens
Visited during Christmas break and our family really enjoyed the light decoration and music/carols. We will definitely go back again another night.
Lovely place to visit. If you are on the mainland and doing an organised tour be prepared for a lot of time on the coach.
Good place to visit to see different flowers blooming in different seasons. Gets boring if you go twice or more in a season, as not much changes.
Amazing!!! Spring most be mindblowing! And They are pet friendly XD
Be sure to set aside two to three hours to enjoy strolling through each garden.
This garden is beautiful. It is a lot of walking so be prepared. There are washrooms and water fountains scattered through the gardens but not always closeby. It was beautiful in May when I went. We were staying in Esquimalt when we visited Victoria. It was quite a long, crowded bus ride to and from the gardens from downtown Victoria but it was worth it. Expect to stay for most of the day if you want to see all of the gardens. It is a very well-kept and lovely place.
The gardens were spectacular but very crowded. Entrance fee is high and food is very overpriced when inside.
Amazing gardens, very rich with lots of variation. Perfect way to spend a couple of hours
Totally worth the time & money on our trip to Victoria. Rose gardens, Japanese gardens, and a unique "sunken garden" in a former quarry. Got there on a round trip bus operated by CVS.
Stunningly beautiful. A must-see for anyone who loves flowers!
This is another must see when you are in Victoria! There is so much history in this tour. The gardens have been around for a long time. You will want to take photos of everything. Be sure to see all of the smaller gardens within the gates. The Japanese garden was my favorite. There are really great snack spots and gift shops within the park.
Must visit when on Vancouver Island, wow what a garden! World famouse, japanese gardens, truly ZENNNNNNNNNNN
Brilliant place try to go when it's not overrun by tourists. Too many people hogging the place for selfies.
So so beautiful! If you like colors and flowers, is your must go place! Totally worth it! Bought also lots of seeds and I had all their support in choosing the plants. You can also talk to a horticulturist for more help.
Very well maintained, great variety of flowers! My parents in-law loved it!
If you love flowers. You will love this place.
Very relaxing and beautiful.
