Favorite date night place! The smoked trout dip appetizer is one of my favorites and I get it every time I go. Also has a great selection of fish for the entree. I like getting the smoked salmon. Comfortable atmosphere with your choice of sitting in the main tavern area with the bar or upstairs where it is a little more romantic.

Really cool atmosphere, great location (except for parking), and good food and drinks. I'm not sure if I forget how much I like it every time I go, or if I just space out my visits enough that it's surprising every time. Great for a private conversation (upstairs) or a casual, more fun ambiance downstairs. Reasonable prices for great food, and their menu includes some more interesting options if you're looking for something out of the ordinary.

Beer was flat and warm. Ordered a Gyro and the lamb was cold, feta was extrememely dry. Beer was almost gone when food came out and server didnt offer another beer till 5 minutes later. When the food comes out in 3 minutes, thats a bad sign.

Tried to eat there this evening around 6:00. We were seated upstairs by the hostess who looked like she rolled out of bed and showed up. We sat for about 15 mins without any water or any acknowledgement from a server. Eventually we just got up and left and ate elsewhere. I notified the hostess of the poor service and she didn t seem to care.

I went last night with my husband for my birthday. I made a reservation and we were seated according with the time of our reservation. The food was phenomenal and came quickly. I let the waitress know it was my birthday and was given a free complimentary birthday dessert. I HIGHLY recommend this place and will be returning in the future!

It was ok for the price. Food was decent but the drinks were not I ordered a Tom Collins for a drink and they just mixed vodka and lemonade instead of the traditional gin lemon and club soda. Service was really good though!

My wife had the smoked gouda chicken pasta and I had the sashimi tuna steak. Both were incredible! The restaurant was very nice but we didn't feel out of place in our shorts and casual wear. Service was good and the food was great. What else needs to be said? The prices were reasonable, especially for the quality, and the location great, in downtown GR.

Food (blackened salmon) was okay but extremely greasy. The spinach and artichoke dip was okay, nothing special. Our waitress was not very welcoming, no smile, and to be honest she seemed annoyed when any questions were asked. She did come frequently to refill water, drinks, and see if we needed anything. The restaurant was not quite half full when we went in there around dinner time. The prices are decent, compared to neighboring restaurants. Perhaps their lunch is better? If I ever find myself staying at the Amway again I won t be going back here.

This place sucks when you are trying to order a French dip. They have the best French dip in GR however they play games and some days they end lunch at 4 other days they end lunch at 3 and if you get there 1 minute late and you aren't dressed like a high roller, then you are garbage to them. So if you want something for lunch you better get there from 11 to 2, however you may still have to pull teeth to get what you want. The manager is useless and won't accommodate paying guests. So beware they do not want your business or money if you aren't dressed as a high roller or in a fancy suit and tie. They, including the manager will lie to you that the kitchen ran out of food but that they will have it at 11a.m.

Food was absolutely great. Great table service as well. Server was polite, apologetic, attentive, and just an all around happy person. It has a nice cozy atmosphere.

Only thing that I had concern about is that it is a bit pricey. I guess you get what you pay for.

A great bar and lunch spot. Downtown for a convention I had brisket sandwich that was incredible. The service is very friendly and they take care of you. If you are going to lunch during a conference make sure to get there on time, it will fill up quickly.

It's not a large location, but well worth a stop. A very classic downtown eatery.

Service was great, food was okay. We had a burger and chicken wrap with fries. Nothing special, but okay. Our server was very good though. She was very friendly and quick with water refills and checking on us.

Went for lunch with a medium sized group. The food was not great, fries were dry as well as the burger. The wait staff was nice, professional, and attentive. The food took a bit longer, and I felt that if we were on a time schedule like most people are during the week at lunch, I would have given it a lower rating.

So I went here before presidents ball. If you don't know what that is, it's like prom but for college. So I went with my friends, more friends, and more friends. We had a pretty good time at the Tavern.

I had the fish, perch to be exact. The fries and coleslaw and fish were very excellent. My brother had the soup, he loved it. We would very gladly go back for more. With all of the restraunts in downtown, we'd still go back. The building itself was clean, organized, even though busy, they were great. It was my birthday in August, I wanted something special. It was!

Had a company dinner here. Food is first rate. Service is very good also. We had a table upstairs. Note that it can be loud here. There were 10 of us and it was hard to listen to folks the other end of the table. Great atmosphere. Will be back.

Great food and great "bar" atmosphere! The staff could have been a bit more involved, but other than that.. GREAT!

Just finished... GREAT FOOD, But there was a hair in my fries. Stopped eating after that. My second beer also came with a small floaty. Eww. I liked this place but it doesn't seem that clean..

Food was really good but our server was just ok, me and a friend ordered drinks and then she walked away without asking my boyfriend what he wanted to drink. Im glad we didn't get seated in the front corner under the ceiling fan because is was covered in dust. Our seats had food on then and the table was sticky. The place looks classier but they need to work on cleanliness a bit.

I recently visited the restaurant.I had a prepaid gift card and when i paid my bill I gave the server a 20% tip.Later on in the evening I went to another establishment and when I went to use my card again found out there was another 20% taken on top of the 20 I left.I called back 3 times and my issue was never resolved.Bad Business for such a establishment.Moral of the story, watch your card charges.

I ordered the sirloin entree and honestly it has to be one of the worst steaks ever. The steak tasted like gril! The potato wedges had no flavor or seasoning and the mushroom glaze tasted like beef gravy and mushroom from a corner store. I was very disappointed. And unfortunately I was on my lunch break and I was just picking up real quick so I was left hungry all day! I will be calling to let them know they failed w my plate.

Top quality service, makes you want to leave a hefty tip. Masculine vibes. I got the shrimp scampi, it tasted amazing. Five stars for the professional, friendly service, clean / cool interior, and great food / drinks!

I was extremely surprised by the poor quality of the food here as the outside of the restaurant, and inside ambience, were wonderful. I loved the lighting, the wood paneling, the gorgeous-clearly original-bar. However, you can't judge a book by it's cover. I am sure at the time this restaurant originally took root in this building, the food was the cream of the crop. It is the absolute farthest thing from that, at this point in time. My husband and I had a room in the Amway Grand for our anniversary. The hotel clerk recommended The Bull's Head for lunch. I was very impressed until our meals were served. My husband's "Kobe" steak was completely under done and looked as if it had been put through a meat grinder. My stomach turned just watching him try to cut through the bloody, gristley meat. There is absolutely no way it was Kobe. The brussel sprouts (which I ordered in addition to my meal, specifically because I love brussel spouts) were swamp colored and cooked to an absolute flavorless, textureless substance. They were inedible. My chicken wrap was dry-both the actual wrap and the chicken-with mere scraps inside of the the other ingredients mentioned in the menu description. Our deplorable lunch cost us over $50. No one asked us how our meals were. Had they, I would have said exactly what I am a writing here. If I were the owner, manager or chef of this restaurant I would absolutely want to know of the quality of food being served. We will never return.

I've come here for lunch several times. The food is pretty good, but I think this place is all about value. For the price you pay, I was quite surprised at the quality (in a good way). It's much better than your typical bar food. It's a pretty decent-sized space so getting a seat during lunch wasn't typically a major issue.

Warm and relaxing #atmosphere with higher quality food at reasonable prices. A great spot for pre #GRsymphony bites, or just a casual dinner when downtown. We make it a point to stop in for every #Grandwich, as Bull's Head has created a unique and satisfying dish each time. Service is great as well, but sometimes feels understaffed.

This is a great, casual atmosphere restaurant in the heart of downtown. Great location across from DeVos Hall & DeVos Place. Prices are excellent, the food was outstanding, their happy hour specials are great, and the service is phenomenal. Our waiter tonight (Garrett) was absolutely incredible. Very knowledgeable and incredibly customer focused. Garrett made a great experience even better. We will be back soon!
