The Blue Note Grill

Mac and cheese was OG! Good sides, and the smoked chicken was delish, look forward to seeing shows there, it's a good room with a welcoming feel.

Great blues jam, good food, and cold beer. I'll probably be back next Tuesday.

The Blue Note grill offers up a great burger and amazing wings. Beer selection gives you good craft choices to wash down your serving and the fries are amazing. While I have only been there a few times Blue Note is always an option when looking for a quick bite or a casual hangout with friends.

Nice evening food was okay. Will check out other events in the future.

The ribs are good and the music is great! We enjoyed the Duke Street band immensely!

The BNG is in a good location with ample parking. The staff greets you with warmth and friendship. The beer selection is varied. The food is wonderful. They have the best wings I've ever had. They are smoked! Other excellent food is the veggies and bbq selection. It is fresh and delicious. Try the Sangria!

Great find. Has the same ambience of its Memphis namesake. Had a beef brisket sandwich that was off the chain. Live music in the evenings.

Had a good time at the Blue Note. Waitress was super sweet and personable. The draft beer choices were limited but good variety. Food was pretty good. My combo platter was pretty tasty although it could have stood to be a little more quantity. Not to say portions were small but just slightly smaller than what I would like for the price. Live music was very entertaining. Nice to see people dancing and having a good time up front. I will revisit and update.

Great cat fish sandwich for lunch at a reasonable price! Attentive service.

Went here for the first time for curbside pick(-me)-up during Covid-19. Got the catfish po-boys and fried pickles and everything was absolutely incredible! They also were kind enough to give me an extra po-boy that they had made by accident. I ll definitely be back - hopefully in person soon.

Best place to see the blues and have great barbecue!

Went to see Larkin Poe. First time I ever went there, and I had a great time. It's a wonderfully small venue where the artists are close, and it feels like a gathering of friends. Highly recommend seeing performances this way!

As far as music goes, it's an excellent venue. Good food and cocktails, cold beers and friendly service.

The band was great, and the casual dining experience was really fun! It had the feel of an old divey bar that had just decided to dress up and step out a bit. Try the cucumber vodka from the distillery next door

Loved the combo platter with ribs and smoked chicken! Although the hush puppies were not my favorite the baked beans, fried okra and red neck fries was great!

Went with my husband to see a musician that he likes. Made a reservation for dinner. Though they misplaced our reservation *twice* they were kind about it and apologetic. Then came dinner and with virtually no vegetarian options (except garden salad), this woman was not happy. The online menu had an option or two but alas they weren't offering those the night we were there. Humph. Not going back. Two stars are for cheerful wait staff.

Plenty of parking, nice rustic environment, affordable, best smoked pulled chicken nachos I ve ever had! I would give 5 stars if they had 1/2 servings. I hate to waste food and dont like to take home leftovers

CAINT TELL WHUT WAS ATE HERE. Pulled smoked chicken sammich and collards. It were delish and under $10 w/out drink. Out hot and fresh in less than five minutes. New to Durm, excited to come here for drinks and live music. Road TORE SLAM UP in front, but park on Corporatin St somewhere and come ANYWAY, yo.

The Blue Note Grill is a wonderful place to eat and see live music. Great food: ribs, barbecue, collards! A half dozen or so taps of brews. First rate music including some touring acts but also local bands and even often shows with no cover charge. I love going to BNG!

One of the best venues for live music in the triangle. The atmosphere is essential to the soul of downtown Durham. The barbecue is excellent. I love the Blue Note and highly recommend it.

Wonderful food, music, and atmosphere (if you are looking to sit for a quiet chat, maybe don't sit in the music side of Blue Note, the "just food" side to the right will be a little quieter for that)

I had a great time! Blue Note Grill serves great drinks. I will go back many times over. It was fun, great service, fun people just having a good time. Losts of dancing live band, a great place for couples and singles we all respected each other and shared the space. No more excuses men, this is a place you can damce the night away with your lady...

Thursday night is a night for listening to Blues and eating barbecue. I had the smoked wings in a hot sauce, but they were not very hot. The banana pudding poke cake was not very sweet or rich in flavor but overall it was very tasty.

Love the diverse and welcoming atmosphere. Had an amazing server and wonderful food to match. The fried avocado was cooked to perfection and everything we order tasted so good. Definitely recommend coming here.

Did not get to eat here. I was excited about this place. I heard a lot of good about it. The menu looked all right but they had a special on board tonight that sounded great. No space inside but it was beautiful outside so we were happy to sit out there........to bad we sat for 30 minutes without a single server approaching us even though 1 was at the hostess set up and suggested the outside. Oh, and people smoke right there. Nice. Don't sit outside, you will not enjoy it.
