Went to a special event and The food was great and so was the service!!
We have our professional events here and it is everything that you would want
Off the hook facility. Great catering and beautiful country setting. Highly recommended.
Nice place, it's a clean place it stay there for a week.
Food good, very disorganized for a wedding we attended.
It was a good value. The bed was comfortable and pillows were good. The whole place was very clean just needs to be updated. I d stay again at what I paid.
Restaurant in the lobby had good food and heavy pours.
Rooms are nice. 3rd floor has vaulted ceilings. Big rooms.
Not impressed. We went to the Leopard for a fish dinner, the food was cold and served slowly.
I was charged incorrectly. I will not be staying there ever again.
Staff provide good service they met the need of our group. The room was nice and clean and the food was wonderful as always. I'm looking forward to returning next September.
Beds are comfortable, rooms HVac system are antiquated, but work. Staff are friendly and helpful. This place is huge
I will concede that the rooms are a tad outdated, but that covers the negative side of my review. My wife and I had our wedding reception here in April of 2015. There were a few minor glitches on the whole process, but overall the reception was FANTASTIC! Many of our guests stated it was the best wedding reception they had been to in some time. Everything looked perfect, the wait staff was fantastic and the food was incredible! This was my wifes day an the Bertram made it very special for her. The cottage is a very nice suite as well. Valerie seemed to have her hands full at times, but she pulled everything off to perfection. I think they should hire an assistant for her.
As far as price, I did my homework on comparing different venues, outside caterers, etc... The Bertram was a little bit more, not much, but worth every single extra penny we spent. The late night pizza and wings was a huge hit as well.
if you are looking for a venue to host a wedding, I highly recommend the Bertram, you wont be disappointed.
Gorgeous looking inn with spacious hall rooms for wedding parties.
Accessibility leaves something to be desired, but great facility.
Very nice facilities. Clean. The staff for our event were extremely nice and on the ball. Also stayed in the hotel and it was nice as well. A classic feel. My only gripe is the smokers outside of the front door. Yes, there is a large no smoking sign. But, it was completely ignored and no one enforced it. Not how you want to load in the building.
The Bertram has beautiful banquet facilities. We attended a corporate dinner event. There was ample space for seating and dancing. The catering and bar service was good.
Went there for a wedding reception, it was very nice
High class professional setting. Great for parties or business events.
Very nice event center for all types of events from weddings to conferences. I'm was also informed of many other available amenities including hotel, spa, health & fitness, dinner and much more. I would definitely consider using this location again for many different situations.
This place masquerades as a fine restaurant. But sadly I ds not.
Very nice place. Would give 5 stars, but staff isn't particularly helpful. Ice machine was broken on my floor, too.
Nice spacious rooms. The free WiFi was on the slow side, but not unusually slow. They have a nice little game room for the kids, but no indoor pool.
Very nice banquet setting. I've not used the hotel.
I have been going to Easter brunches at hotels for the last 10 years in a row and this by far was the worst one I've ever been too!! It was over $40 And I would have rather gone to Golden Corral! Absolutely horrible! There was very little variety in food that was not pre made and sent in frozen and thrown in Pan! The only desserts they had word doughnuts and some hard little pastries with a smudge of jelly in the middle that was dried out. They actually had tater tots and And their version of potato pancakes were these little pre made frozen round things that look like they came out of a really badd school cafeteria
The Inn is older and in need of a makeover. Staff was pleasant. Food was ok, nothing special
My sister had her wedding here, it was a beautiful reception and ceremony! No complaints at all!!!
Was there for a wedding! Food was good. Outside wedding, venue was pretty!
We have stayed here for a friends wedding (hosted here) and for our own wedding (guests stayed here). Staff is friendly and attentive, but the management/office staff can be...forgetful. Make sure to follow up with them constantly, as things tend to get "forgotten" (and you probably paid for it). Great pool area, decent gym, and a nice arcade like place for the kids. Has a huge "annex" on site (usually where weddings/events are held) that is nice (and a short walk).
Took my family here for Thanksgiving dinner. I was expecting higher quality food, but was highly disappointed. "Stuffing" was one large lump of soggy bread. Green beans were undercooked. Mashed potatoes were dry. All of the "hot" dishes were luke warm. Turkey, ham and pies were all of average quality.
I am thankful for a place to take my family on Thanksgiving... having said that... I'm thankful that we have other selections for future family dining experiences.
Over all not bad for a night away the room had a tiny toilet but a extra long tub mini fridge was an unexpected joy as the closest place to eat besides there was 10 minutes away. Location was easy to get to but without geuaga lake there's no reason for the hotel. Hotels service was subpar but I'd stay again
Conference center is a nice facility but the rooms at the inn are a bit dated and need some updating.
I took a bride there to let me know at a room for her bridal shower. I am her matron of honor
Recently made arrangements to have hotel pick me up at airport in late evening. They never showed. After calling hotel staff they said they knew nothing about this reserved pick up. Stuck at airport at 11:00 pm. Not a good start to my stay. Be wary of this hotel.
Stayed here for a recent family wedding. We had a lovely time! Started out in the bar with drinks and calamari before the service. Had breakfast the next morning. Rooms were quiet and well decorated. Bed was comfortable. View overlooking the pool area. Staff was super friendly. Reception area and ceremony were perfectly decorated for the bride and groom. Game room was great for playing pool afterwards. Overall it was a fantastic weekend. I recommend the bloody mary!
Rooms are clean and comfortable. The conference center staff took great care of us.
Great food, fantastic place to hold a wedding reception.
A bit dated. The food is somewhat lacking, and the bar is a bit expensive. However, the staff is friendly beyond belief, and should be commended for how nice they keep the hotel.
I went here with my 2 year old to a miniature show. Rooms were nice, hotel staff was super accommodating, and nice. I was 6hours away and they went above and beyond. They delivered wine to my room, helped me during buffet breakfast, and showed me areas to go with him if he needed a break.
Nice conference center. Very nice staff and fitness center. Rooms were average at best and our mini fridge did not work.
The staff was very helpful in answering a couple questions and the facility was very nice
Service is really good. Rooms are nice and comfortable and the building is pretty
Clean rooms and a great place to hold a conference.
Booking review: we are going for a friends wedding that is booked there. Booking the room over the phone was a hassle. The person "helping us" was not interested to answer our questions(including the price of the room) and her attitude was awful. At the time of booking we asked for a fridge in the room however the person responded sayin there is no way for her to know which rooms would have a fridge!!! After mentioning that we have little kids traveling with us she responded " I will try".
This morning we called to confirm the check in time, the lady on the phone said that the room is ready and we can check in any time. I asked about other amenities like breakfast and others. Then asked about if our room has a fridge and she said it is a hit or miss and she doesnt know. I asked if after checking in there is no fridge, are they able to provide a fridge and I was told there is no way to move one to our room!!! Let's the fun begins will update after our stay, I hope it turns out better that I am expecting...
The best way to describe this hotel is that it is awesome, only if it were 1994. Having stayed twice for events in 2010 and this weekend July 2014 I'll make this review for both stays. Positives are the hotel, inside and outside, are always very clean. The staff are always friendly & professional. Negatives are the rooms are outdated and lack the amenities you find in modern and comparable hotels. A better cooling/heating setup, bathroom/shower, television with more HD channels would all be nice upgrades.
Sound system was horrible and food was average at best. Poor choice of selection as well.
I shared a room with other women and attended a conference. There were 2 adjoining rooms with total of 2 double beds and one king bed. There were two bathrooms with a shower and another with a toilet. They served pasta; Chicken and salad during the conference. In the morning we served scrambled eggs, bread, fruit, bacon, chorizo and drinks. There were no eggs without yolk or alternative option pork loins. At the conclusion of the event we received cookies and a packed lunch (sandwich, fries)
Was here a few weeks ago to DJ a wedding and the front desk staff were courteous. The venue is clean and proper. All the venue staff were professional and kind. The venue itself is gorgeous whether you choose any room size. The atrium used for the ceremony is actually pretty cool.
Gorgeous facility, super friendly staff. Everything was always clean
Very good Thanksgiving meal. Missed the extensive dessert selection, just had pies
Great pizza and wings from Paws. Friendly service.Quiet atmospere with nice background music and perfect lighting.
Rooms were ok, a bit dated. TV was small and didn't move so everyone could see it (like when on the couch). Felt it was kinda pricey for what you get.
Great show Skip Martin on Father's day! Thanks good food
This place is great. It is far away from the highway which made for a very restful night of sleep. There weren't a whole lot of people there and the room service was excellent. They've got a good cable channel line up. The staff is very assertive. I do a lot of traveling and this is one of the better places of stayed in the country.
Our National Baptist Women's Retreat took place once again at the Bertram. The rooms were wonderful, the service great and the food fantastic. After our meeting we voted to continue with the Bertram and 60 Ladies voted yes for an additional 2 years :-)
The place is a bit dated, but the service is spectacular!
Beautiful conference center. The food was excellent and the wait staff superb.
Great lunch and pretty venue will return for dinner at paws
So.... my wife and I tried to have a little getaway for our one year anniversary, and this place did nothing but disappoint! But we couldn t leave, because we couldn t believe how bad it actually was, that we wanted to see what else could go horribly wrong.
We walked into the hotel, and the front desk lady (Kylie) didn t even greet us. Then we told her that we had a gift card and wanted to use that to pay for our stay. She had no idea what she was doing. So she made us our keys and told us to go around the back of the building to a door. She wasn t sure which door, she just said to go to a door in the back. ( I mean, come on!)
So we proceeded to park in the back of the hotel( which was weird, there were only about 10 cars in the whole parking lot of a hotel that has 400+ rooms) anyways we found our way to our room( somehow! It s a freaking jungle! We had to walk down 3-4 hallways to find our room) then we tried our key, and of course, it didn t work! So then we had to figure out how to make it back to the lobby. Seriously, it was not easy. When we finally go to the lobby, Kylie was eating food at the front desk with her boyfriend. (Picture this, they are on opposite sides of the front desk, sharing a plate of food. How unprofessional! It was at 2:50-3pm on 10/21/2018 if you want to check your security cameras) she then made us keys and got our keys covered in grease from the nasty food she was eating. Her boyfriend never stopped eating and she was talking to us with food in her mouth! I have never seen so much unprofessionalism! I have a degree in hotel management and worked at a hotel for year. This was seriously the worst thing I have ever witnessed.
The key finally worked and we made it to our room. But then later that night, after coming back from having dinner, I wanted to double check to make sure that Kylie actually knew what she was doing. Apparently, she had charged the gift card, but didn t charge it to our room! So we were gonna get double charged if we hadn t checked. We asked to speak with a manager, but there was none until Tuesday! That s 2 full days that there was no manager who could help my wife and I!
I can guarantee that we will not be back, unless they figure a way to make it right with us! What a sad 1 year anniversary!
Kept very nice. The only problem was the bed was extremely uncomfortable.
