I have been using the Nut for 2+ years as my one stop home brew supply.
The staff has always been very helpful with supplies and questions.

These guys are awesome. They went above and beyond to help; the gentleman behind the counter (cant remember name sorry) took time out of eating his lunch to look up stuff on their computer so we can make sure we were doing everything correctly. Especially that kid Myles he went miles beyond the competition with the way he helped us out and his incredible knowledge. He caught a mistake and made sure we didn't leave before he remedied the situation, these guys rock.
If everyone in the customer service industry followed half of what these guys do the world would be a much better place.
They are eager to help, passionate about brewing, share knowledge about best brewing practices, run a clean store and best of all don't look down upon anyone who is a novice. Always a pleasure to visit their establishment!
5 stars isn't enough. I highly recommend The Beer Nut.
Mark was great in helping me get set up for my first Home Brew batch. I will definitely be going in often and plan to soon become a regular. Great shop and great staff!
Just visited today for some ingredients and questions. The gentleman that helped me was exceptional. He answered all of the questions I had and more. He helped me build a recipe for a beer and bent over backwards to assist. By far the best experience I have had there, and the best help of all of the homebrew supply places I have been too. Cheers Beer Nut!!
Really helpful, super friendly! They know their stuff and are happy to answer any questions you have and gladly talk about different processes for all kinds of things!
These guys are great. Small shop but they have the goods. Grain, hops and yeast are fresh.
Great local homebrew shop with a cozy feel. The staff is really knowledgeable and helpful with anything they can assist you with. They try to stay on top of new grains and hops being made available to the public as well! You can also get your co2 for kegging as well as a lot of fun toys like pumps, refractometers, the newest kettles and fermenters.
My husband and I came in today and received the best customer service from Devin! Definitely will be back!!! Thank you!!
Great helpful staff.. good prices.. my one stop brew shop!
These people are extremely helpful and enthusiastic.
not sure how they hold up to other beer stores but they really helped me out with starting to Homebrew. So I'm forever indebted to them. The workers here are also super-friendly so if you're a first-time Brewer and you're worried about figuring out all the basics they can help you here.
This is a great place to order online from. They are very good with returns, have good prices (free shipping for orders over $60), and super conscientious packaging. Highly recommended.
I love this place, they have what i need and were very helpful. I had questions after question and they were right there to help.
The owner is a control freak and a tool to his employees. Great selection of brewing equipment.
Love this place. Chaz is always friendly, fun, and knowledgeable as can be. Big fan. I go here over other places in town because of the staff. Thanks for all the help!
Everything you'll ever need with the right people to help you with every question you may have.
If you have an interest in home brew then this the place to go.
A bit pricey compared to some internet pricing but you can get it today! The stuff the have their is top notch
These guys are awesome. They are very helpful and friendly, regardless of your skill level. The store is always well stocked with fresh ingredients, which is extremely important.
Great homebrew store with friendly staff. You can preorder front thier website and they will have it eating for you.
The Beer Nut is the place to go for all of your home brew supplies and knowledge. I've yet to have a bad experience here, as all of the staff are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and friendly.
These guys have a love for homebrewing and it shows. Great selection and great customer service
A staple in salt lake. Great place. Just wish they would expand to a bigger store. Jamie is awesome!
been a while since i updated this. the "new guys" (chaz and devon) in the store are the best. i wouldn't go anywhere else in utah.
The staff was helpful, and happy to get me everything I needed to get started, the selection is good, and I like their kits.
The problem I have is their unwillingness to trust their customers. On my first purchase I bought everything I needed to get started, so there was quite a bit of stuff coming home with me, and it was all a little overwhelming. Taking an inventory of everything coming home with me was difficult, as I wasnt 100% sure what everything was. When I got to bottling day I realized that I had paid for a capper, but the employee had never given it to me. When I went back I was told that I would have to pay for another one even though I never got it the first time. I understand that a cystomer could be dishonest, but 5 star customer service is trusting your customers, and I did not get 5 star customer service here. I'll be going somewhere else next time.
I've been here a couple times and it seems like it's almost an inconvenience to come into their store for them. Out of the last 3-4 times I've been there, I've only been approached by staff once. They're not particularly rude, but they're not helpful either, mostly just stand behind the counter and talk. Grain selection is better at Arts, and dry malt extract here is hard to come by. The liquid malt extract comes in a 6# jug which I'm not sure how long it' s been there or where it comes from. I prefer Art's Brewing Supplies and will shop with him or online.
It was cool to be able to step foot inside this place. Highly recommended if you want to learn how to homebrew! Chaz sup brother?
Super knowledgeable and friendly staff! Great selection and prices.
I only go there because of the convenience. Staff tends to be a bit condescending.
My go to place for not only homebrew supplies but also helpful assistance and a great staff. Even my super newbie questions are answered patiently and with tons of knowledge and experience.
They know and understand what there doing. Will always go back there for any reason.
These guys helped me pick my first ever beer brewing kit about 5 years ago, and I've been going back for ingredients, advice & upgrades ever since. I get all emotional just thinking about it!
Reasons why the Beer Nut RULES.
1). These dudes seriously know their stuff.
2). They have an incredible selection.
3.) Their costumer service is the absolute best.
Anytime someone mentions that they want to start brewing I send them here!
Everyone is always super helpful and very knowledgeable.
Love the place. The guys working there are friendly. Good place to get your brewing supplies. They say "Make beer not bombs! "
The staff here is knowledgeable without being pretentious, and helpful without trying to sell you stuff you don't need. Great home brew shop!
Outstanding customer service. Went out of their way to help me diagnose a leak in my CO2 system. They even comped me a fresh tank since mine leaked down overnight. Very happy with their commitment to their customers.
Very knowledgeable and kind people who are willing to help newbies and pros alike
Not the best selection of extracts, but a great supply of equipment and yeast.
It seems kind of weird that Poor-Fair is not split it into two categories for service, they were definitely fair. My experience was similar to an earlier post. I went in to get started with my first time brewing and didn't get too much in the way of advice or enthusiasm. ...they seem like they have a lot of selection though.
The Beer Nut is a great home brew store for any level of beer brewer. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about brewing beer. I bought my first brewing kit from the Beer Nut and have been going to them ever since.
We love this place! Back between 2009-2014 I used to make tons of wine and came to the Beet Nut all the time. But life got busy for me and I had to take some years off. But I finally found some free time to get back into it again and today it was so nice to see that the Beer Nut is still there for us to come to for all our supplies. So glad this place is still around.
Most of the guys here are incredibly helpfull in providing you with directions for brewing and ingredients. Others are a little off putting.
People running the place are knowledgeable and plenty friendly! Not the cheapest for gear but definitely the service and what the staff bring to the table are more than worth any difference in price. Now that I'm living in the area, the Beer Nut will be my go-to place for home brewing.
Amazing staff and a great selection. For avid homebrewers you can bulk buy grain and they will "store" it for you on account. A great option if you dont want your basement to turn inti a grainery.
Everything you need to start homebrewing, keep home brewing and take your brewing to the next level. I really appreciate that not only do they have a thoughtful inventory of stuff for the brand new brewer and beginner kits, which is what I brought there, but also clearly a large selection of stuff for the more advanced brewer. The staff was super chill and helpful even to a clueless new brewer like myself. Thanks guys!
The CO2 bottle exchange is fast, simple and easy. That's how things should be. Thanks Devin for the great customer service!
Got totally shafted
Exchanged a CO2 bottle and the one they gave me was already the passed inspection date. Don't even think about renting a fruit press from there.
These guys rock! Devin and Chaz are super knowledgeable and helpful
These guys are very knowledgeable and willing to share it. Their kits are really good for beginners and they had us up and brewing in no time.
Awesome store with knowledgeable people. Everyone I have been there they have had what I needed plus more.
I much prefer buying my brew supplies online. Local brew shops in salt lake seem judgy. But they have lots of stuff and fresh yeast.
