Very disappointed in Hudson Bay. I purchased a necklace for my girlfriend online which she wanted to exchange for another item. I did not keep the receipt received in the box as I though the order number would be enough however, since it had been 31 days (one day beyond their return policy) they would not allow me to exchange the item for something else??? How does one of Canadas largest retailers survive which such poor policies???

Wanting to exchange a suitcase that had a broken handle - Christmas gift. I had forgotten my receipt, but had a copy of the credit card invoice. They wanted to charge me $30 for not having the receipt.

We went to pick up our son's first suit for his graduation. Jimmy in men's wear was just outstanding in helping us pick the right things and convincing our son of the right look. If brick and mortar stores are to survive they will need outstanding staff like him to do so.

The Bay is an excellent place for high quality and good pricing. Remember this no argument policy. They simply back their products. I have yet to be disappointed with them. Rideau Centre, St. Laurent Shopping Centre and Bayshore Shopping Centre have been great experiences with excellent staff.

Large department store located across from the Rideau Center accessible by pedways on second floor. Great selection of men's sports wear from different manufactures such as Adidas, Puma, Marmot and Columbia! I always enjoy shopping there when in Ottawa.

Ilina in the men's department gave us, hands down, THE BEST customer service I've ever had shopping with my husband. She pinpointed the exact issue he has had with suit jackets FOREVER, and without missing a beat, brought him the size and style that fits him best. She's a saint!

This store claimed to have 25% sale on Breville coffee machines .. there is one particular espresso machines I was interested to buy the $799 (before sale) one. Interesting enough this particular coffee machine shows up as available in three branches (Rideau, St Laurent and Bayshore) but when I get there and ask for it they make a big fuss about it and they go around in circles and at the end they simply say they don t have it, and tell me to check with a different store, I go to another store and I see the same behaviour. I believe they have instructions to pull this item out of the shelves and lie to customers about their sale.

Very upset with their delivery service. We purchased a couch on monday and it was supposed to be delivered the coming Saturday between 10am and 4pm. I had planned to sell my exisitng couch so there was space for the new one, Which I did. Saturday comes, 4pm passes , and nothing. so I call the delivery line only to find out the couch has to be re scheduled for a later date.. there excuse was because of the snow storm. Which was yesterday..why wouldnt they just call their cuatomers. I've been waiting all day. Very upsetting. And how I have nothing to watch my leafs game on. Pfffff.

I went to the Bay a few days ago and they were having a mega sale. I saw these very cute boots (they have great stuff) and asked one of the sales girls to check if they had them in my size. She quickly said no and I could tell she didn't even bother looking. So, then, I asked another sales rep (Katherine) and she quickly located a pair for me. They're also always understaffed which makes the shopping experience awful. So, would say, below average experience, except for Katherine who was immensely kind and helpful.

Understaffed. POS system crashed when I was trying to pay. staff left the security tag on the clothing item, and I had to return to the service desk after setting off the alarms at the exit. How this place is still in business is a complete mystery.

This review is not about the store but more about the hbc.com website. I recently placed an order and it mentioned that the item is in stock. Then I got called by their security company to confirm the order too and was then informed I will get a tracking number in 30 minutes. That never came. Instead the next day I got an email saying my order was cancelled as the item could not be procured. Well why mark an item in stock when it really isn't? Seems like a very poor ecommerce setup there. As it is the company is struggling to bring customers in and with such experiences for online shopping it really isn't going to help. Never going to order from them again and I'm more than happy to take my business to a more reliable retailer.

Large department store with escalators and elevators to navigate the 3 floors. They have a large selection of quality clothing Wich is reflected in pricing. Good deals on clearance items.

There are nice enough things here, but dag it's expensive so just about everything. I don't know if I ever choose The Bay as an option specifically because if the pricing. Which makes it a once in a while thing. Not a regular shopping spot.

Hudson Bay Company is a quite a historic organization going back to colonial times as far as I know. It was originally established by the British for fur trading. Now Hudson Bay Company holds many fine stores such as Lord and Taylor. I have been at the one on Rideau street. This Brach of it has many fine goods you can at at reasonable prices. The store must be an old storage house because the floors and the walls were quite old.
