Love The Ballantyne! All the staff is friendly and accommodating. Very comfy beds. The hotel and the grounds are spacious and lovely. There are many outdoor places to relax including verandas and balconies. There are walking trails, a golf course, free tennis courts and outdoor pool. There are also plenty of indoor activities including more pools and a work out facility. There are teas and yoga. The food is scrumptious and much of it is sourced locally...yum.

The room was a bit small and unimpressive for the value. The spa service was ok and the breakfast was also pretty standard. Compared to other comparable hotels. The service and quality was lacking.

Just not that great. A wonderful hotel, solid experience, solid spa. Unfortunately it doesn't measure up to the price tag. Although it might if I played golf, which I do not. I understand the attached golf course is a big part of the attraction.

Beautiful Hotel. Good barging for the superb quality.
I stayed in a room right next to the lobby. I thought I would hear other guests due to the hight traffic. However I was pleasentlly surprised how quiet the room was. Over several nights including the weekend. I will be staying again the next time I'm in town.

We went to the gallery restaurant for brunch before going to the gingerbread display. The Chorizo tostada was delicious, but the egg on top was not cooked right. When I told them they acted like I was wrong but they did take it back and bring me a new one.

This was my fifth or sixth time here, always for business meetings. It is first class all around. Appropriately part of The Luxury Collection. Large, well appointed rooms. Excellent food, even when serving a crowd. Highly attentive staff.

I am not a fan. These front desk staff think they are above or better than someone. I'd just like to be the one to let you know that you put your pants on the same way I do and you are no better than I am. Learn how to treat folks with respect. I got the feeling that they are only genuine with those who pay premium rates here.

Booking The Ballantyne for my wedding venue was on...

Booking The Ballantyne for my wedding venue was one of the best decisions I made while planning my wedding. I booked the largest ballroom for my ceremony and reception. The Ballantyne was so on top of everything and were very flexible when I decided to not have the ceremony outdoors. They made every step of the process very special for me (the bride). From touring to tastings, it was all done perfectly. When booking with the Ballantyne, they have a venue planner that will work with you. Allison was the planner who worked with us and she helped make my vision come to life. She was always organized and had everything all together. The day of the wedding, she was there behind the scenes helping run the show and make sure the day went perfectly - which it did. The staff was amazing and went above and beyond. The food was impeccable -- definitely not your average wedding food. We had the tenderloin of beef, chicken and Scottish salmon as meat options on the menu. They were all so good, it was hard for me to choose which one I wanted for my meal and don't get me started about the potato sides (AMAZING). We also had them pass around hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour, which was great! The bar made two specialty cocktails for us to share with our guests -- one was a more fruity drink, while the other had a whisky twist -- both were delicious. This venue works frequently with a lot of the vendors I chose for my wedding, so they were able to facilitate with drapery, lighting, etc. In addition, the whole atmosphere of The Ballantyne radiates elegance and sophistication. If you are looking for a perfect venue spot, this is the place!

I visited the Ballantyne Hotel and enjoyed afternoon tea with my daughter before she departs for her freshman year of college. It's not our first time enjoying tea but was definitely the best time. Our hostess Geri (?spelling) was fabulous. She made knowledgeable and accurate tea recommendations which were were delightful and was very attentive throughout the time we were there. Our savory and confectioneries were delicious (I hope you're lucky enough to get the apple pie cream puff) and presented beautifully. The treats were only made better by the service as It's obvious Geri has a way of making everyone feel very special and we can't wait to return. The manager stopped by our table and warmly accepted our feedback as well. If you're looking for a special way to celebrate any occasion, this is it!

5 stars, no doubt. The rooms are super clean and very large, the staff is fantastic and the facilities are absolutely stunning. This was my go-to hotel when I could lock in the availability. It books up fast, so I recommend booking in advance.

Great experience. It's my son's 15th birthday, so for his birthday I decided that he could stay over night with two of his best buddies. Since his birthday is in January and it's usually very cold out, the boys loved swimming in the heated indoor pool, and enjoying working out in the hotel gym. While I had a joined room I could relax but still be able to enjoy the hotel bar and lovely spa.
What a great idea. My spa treatment was lavish and luxurious. It was a birthday my son will never forget. He stated, after ordering room service that he was famous pop star! He's already asking to go back.

The property was beautiful, sprawling, and the daily housekeeping was 5 stars. However, the customer service was deplorable. When checking in, the new front desk attendant being trained was very nice and was trying hard, but was rudely critiqued about her performance by another assistant while we were standing right in front of them. We had a spa appointment in the morning and received a call about 30 minutes prior asking to reschedule due to a scheduling issue. No problem, things happen, and we did. Fast forward to early afternoon and received another call saying that due to staffing issues, needed to reschedule again. That wasn't possible for us and as a result we lost a $100 spa credit. We decided to make the the most of it and go see the spa on our own and use the amenities. We asked about the eucalyptus room advertised online and were given blank stares and pointed to the lower level to wander on our own. We were then shown the men's and women's locker rooms and nothing else, so we abruptly left. Terrible experience and rude customer service. That night, we had a pizza delivered to the hotel and our delivery driver said she was told to get the **** out of the way when asking about where the elevators were by one of the staff members. There was not one hello, welcome, good morning, nothing... Another guest asked about how fresh sandwiches were at the bar and was given an extremely rude answer , stating, "well they were made today so as fresh as that." In a very sarcastic manner. It's sad such a nice estate is ruined by such poor service, aside from the amazing housekeeping.

The hotel is beautiful. However it is currently undergoing renovation. This made ot difficult to maneuver around the campus. There was also a large amount of trash overflowing from the dumpsters and piled in the parking lot.

We had a pleasant stay with a comfortable bed, an elegant bathroom, friendly staff, and a clean room. However, for the money spent, we could have stayed at a nicer hotel. This place charges for every little thing, and is really for people who have money to waste and don't care about how much they spend. The 90s-elegant rooms and overpriced hotel are perfect some, but not for us. Also, we thought we'd splurge our last night and order room service; for 66 dollars, we received 2 mixed drinks, decent but small portioned fries, and a dessert that was okay. Not worth it.

The room and aminities were great. The bed was luxurious and I slept great. Hotel staff was very nice. The concierge was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The issue came when going to the bar. It took forever to just be seen at the bar and then even longer to actually get my drink. The bar area was loud and unrelaxing. I ended up just taking my drink to my room. Overall a good experience, but will most likely stay uptown next time I am in the area.
