The Avoca Clinic Review

The surgeon was nice, but I was left in the closed off waiting room for 45 minutes whilst I was seemingly forgotten about, and as a result I was rushed through the rest of the consultation. The owner did ring to apologise afterwards.

I had liposculpting with the machines and am really happy with my tummy now. i had no loose skin but had fat on my tummy which is now gone. I had to wait in my car for 45 mins for my first appointment that was the only thing but afetr that there wasnt much waiting and im happy with my tummy.

I lost 4 stone as part of a two year health and fitness plan, and in turn i was left with loose skin on my tummy and breasts. I had an uplift and tummy tuck with muscle tightening and I am so happy to finally have the body i have worked for since 2017. Thank you to the Avoca Clinic for helping me complete my final stages

Me & another friend were supposed to come here for breast augmentation but have decided to put our money elsewhere as a family member had the procedure last week and was treated disgracefully by the Irish "nurse" she completely turned what should have been a great experience into a horrible one. She made her feel little and less than and was extremely rude. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. There are many other places that will cost the same amount and you will be treated like a human being with respect.
When she complained she was told if she leaves a good review that she will get free teeth whitening. It was such a bad experience she even threw out 150 voucher to the bin

From my consultation in Limerick to my surgery in Wicklow I knew I was in the best hands and couldn t be happier with my breast augmentation. The nurses were so welcoming and friendly they made me feel such at ease. The doctors are the best in the business and gave me the results I could have only hoped for elsewhere. I didn t feel under pressure, everyone was so helpful with my decision making. The aftercare is on point. I was no sooner home and received my appointment for my check up. Have a rupture after 3 years and they want 5750 to remove and replace.only.the implants are lifetime guarantee. 3 years is not good enough and I am expected to pay this cost.basically told me that I wanted to meet with the surgeon to discuss the cost that I was waiting everybody's time that thus was the price

As for my theatre experience it was amazing the most laid back theatre I ve been in and I have been in quite a few they chatted to me and had music playing in backward was very chilled out and relaxed environment. Even back in the recovery ward the nurses were amazing. The procedure itself only lasted 45 minutes I was back home within 6 hours. As for the follow up I received a phone call the following day to enquire how I was doing. The follow up consultations were excellent over all an excellent service and work. Very welcoming staff. Excellent clinic.

I've just gone back for my checkup after my 2nd surgery with the avoca. I lost a lot of weight and found avoca to be the only clinic in Ireland offering what I was looking for. My first surgery was a fluer de Lis and I couldn't have been happier with Dr Morrisons results and the after care from the avoca. I booked my second surgery as early as I could. Skin removal from my arms and a breast lift. 6 weeks post op and I am thrilled with Dr Ajmal work. I am hoping to go back early next year to finish off my skin removal journey with my legs and back. I am so glad I went with the avoca. THe technology and treatments they offer are ones not available anywhere else in Ireland. Can't wait to go back, they will be sick of me HA :)

I had been considering a mastopexy for years and was recommended to go to Avoca. So in September I made contact to get info and in October I finally made my decision and booked my consultation, which due to availability was in November.

I booked the day off as I was travelling from Cork to Limerick. I was excited and nervous. A week before, they rang to say it was cancelled and it would be now pushed another month to December. I was let down but Zara was very nice and promised it wouldn't happen again as she knew the difficulty in me getting the appt and travelling to it.

Again I booked the day off and again, 3 days before, they rang to cancel. It was a different girl and she could only offer me another one in January. I d initially hoped to have it done or at least booked by the end of the year, so I said I'd leave it go. I'd been having consultations at other places which all went well, but I had been holding out for Avoca as my friend recommended it and they were one of the few places doing 3D imaging to show your possible results.

I was upset at being messed around, especially with a subject clients would be nervous for. So I sent a polite email to express my disappointment. Zara rang me back straight away and was able to get me a sooner date just before Xmas if I travelled up to Wicklow instead, so I took that. She apologised for the trouble but said it would be worth the wait.

It went ahead and I made the 3hr journey. I met Zara who was lovely and thanked me for taking the appt. The clinic itself is very nice and I was impressed by how specialised they are. After meeting with a lady to give me info and answer any initial questions, I met with Dr. Morrison. We had a brief chat and then he had a look at me to take measurements etc. But he simply said because I hadn't had kids yet I should wait until it's more drastic. He also said that with a lift I absolutely will not be able to breastfeed (whereas previous surgeons I met either said it was 50/50, or else more probable that I would be able to). I explained that, granted I was getting married the following year, but I didn t want to have kids straight away. So it could be 10yrs by the time I m finished having a family and I had already been unhappy for years. But he just said no this isn't for you and didn't bother taking measurements.
Zara was in the room and said maybe we should do the 3D imaging anyway. She took the pictures for it, but after she left he said there was no point.

The appt was over after giving me 5 mins of his time - having waited 3 months to meet him, travelling up for 3hrs that morning, and being promised a great consultation which included 3D images. I got into my car and cried before driving back down to Cork.

I should've stood up for myself and told him I understood the chance it might not hold through kids, but I wasn t there for the laugh and I was willing to take the chance and spend the money to be happy even if for a few years. To be fair I appreciated his honesty. And if he didn't want to do the procedure I m glad he wasn t the one to do it. But it was extremely one sided - just his immediate opinion on me having kids, and no room to consider how I felt.

I also think its funny that while the consultation is free, they take your card details incase you cancel last minute, to charge you for the wasted time (fair enough) - yet they have no problem wasting your time cancelling appt after appt and giving 5min consultations without measurements or imaging. I appreciate that their time is valuable but they should also appreciate the time of their clients.

[Following this I met with one more surgeon elsewhere. While he again explained the possible changes in results with having kids (breastfeeding generally not being affected given the technique used, which leaves the milk ducts intact), he also listened to me. He was very kind and understanding, but made sure I knew everything and this was what I wanted. I am now 1 week post op and absolutely delighted with my results. I wish I had done it sooner and hadn't wasted time with Avoca.]

Can't recommend this clinic highly enough. The staff, nurses and doctor were all very professional and understanding. I felt very comfortable throughout the whole process and I couldn't be happier with my results!

This beautiful stylish clinic offers service 2nd to none, the staff where super, the nurses and anaesthetist where fantastic, while the surgeon is not over friendly, he did a magnificent, professional operation, I would highly recommend The Avoca Clinic for anyone who is thinking of breast augmentation, I am delighted with the results.

I contacted the Avoca Clinic and Booked a consultation with Dr Cormac Joyce to have Tummy Tuck surgery after losing 90lbs. After the consultation I was very happy with the clinic and the Doctor and liked the fact he carried out a drainless tummy tuck. I felt this was the place to have the surgery done so I book in for September to get Tummy Tuck & muscle repair (needed after having 3 kids). The day of the surgery I found all the nurses amazing and Dr Cormac was great to deal with explaining everything and putting me at ease. I am extremely happy with the outcome my incisions are so neat and healing great and the aftercare was amazing. I would highly recommend The Avoca Clinic and Dr Cormac Joyce if you are considering any cosmetic surgery as he is the best.

My experience was so positive from when I first decided to go with the Avoca Clinic for my Breast Revision surgery. I was excited but very nervous about the surgery. Cornac has incredible talent and a fantastic personality. After his pre op visit with me all my nerves were gone. And my results are fabulous! I highly recommend the Avoca Clinic for everyone who would like to improve their look.Really lovely place with wonderful people around.The atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming.I didn t felt any pressure whatsoever , all the people were so nice and very helpful to make my decisions to make me happy and satisfied.All the doctors are qualified professionals will give you the best results. After-care is wonderful.They make sure that you are in your times for the check ups and they try as best they can to serve you for your needs. Very delighted that I found them:)Excellent service.

I get my under arm botox done here and its very good. I go to the gym a lot so I find it great not too sweat.

They forgot to arrange me to do the blood test, until the day before the surgery they realized it.

A lady called me to remind me paying the surgery fee, but she was quite rude.

Anyhow, the nurses there are all very nice and warm.

Unfortunately, my surgery result was not really pleasant. I have to have it redone. I was very very sad..

The reception and front office staff are very disorganised. They are rushing around and mostly concerned with each other instead of patients. The staff room door is open for everyone to hear the office gossip. During my consultation, I was given available dates for a procedure I needed but it was never discussed that the doctor is only available on Saturdays at 6am!! The staff are very slow to respond to emails. I decided not to use their services as I got such an unsettling impression of how the organisation is run. You need to feel safe if undergoing a medical procedure.

Would advise everyone to stay away from Avoca clinic, unhelpful rude staff. Serious problems after my operation here, and heard many other people with similar complaints!

I wish I could leave less than 1 star. I had liposuction done here in Feb and during my consultation the Dr and staff seemed lovely. Everything seemed fine, until after I had my surgery. COVID happened so I never got to go in for my check up consultation. When restrictions eased up a little, I emailed and no one responded. Weeks went by so I called. I got put on hold, then the same woman picked the phone up again and said, oh sorry I didnt mean to pick up this line and hung up. She didnt put me back on hold, she HUNG UP on me. I had to call back, and she put me on hold again and then a guy answered and had no idea who I was or what I was trying to do so I had to explain it all again and then got passed on to a third person. She told me the Dr. was in Italy and wouldnt be coming back until border restrictions eased. Once Italy was off the restricted list I called back and they fed me the same thing, even though Italy is a green list country. Hmmm interesting. I have now looked at their site and the Dr. who did my procedure isnt even listed as a team member! I Googled him myself and he doesn't even work at Avoca. So I dont know if he was just a visiting surgeon for a short time there or if he has left that clinic. But now I have to try to get in contact with him because my results are HORRIBLE. My stomach is so uneven, I went in there to get some fat removed from my lower stomach and fat was only removed from one section causing a split in my lower stomach, so now if i sit down, it looks like I have a weird lower stomach because it indents where it was over "lipoed". My arms and upper back where I had wanted the procedure done, look bigger! My back fat did not go away, the rolls divided into more rolls and my arms, I dont even want to talk about. So, if you come across a Dr. Viel, do not go to him, and def do not go to this clinic. It should feel welcoming and you shouldnt feel like a burden to them.

Avoca Clinic gave me an extremely professional and hassle free experience. As a new comer to surgery they were friendly and guided me through the whole process from start to finish. They were always at the other end of the phone to answer my queries. Dr. Joyce who performed my augmentation is very knowledgeable with a lot of experience, he checked on me before and after the surgery and made me feel comfortable. The nurses were soo nice and helpful too!
I highly recommend Avoca Clinic for any surgery procedure.

Avoid avoid avoid!!!! If you have any problems after your prodecure they will be rude firstly and then ignore you.

I had a lovely experience with the clinic, the staff were nice and helpful throughout my whole experience. I had a breast augmentation and felt calm and assured the whole time, didn't feel nervous as I felt I was in good hands. The clinic is really nice and fancy, if I have any questions the staff was always there to help me. I am still waiting for my overall result but so far I am feeling satisfied and would highly recommend.

Make sure you get them to explain what the lifetime warranty actually means instead of selling it to you at the consultation and paying extra. I was reassured getting the lifetime Implant that it would not rupture as there was an extra layer of toughened silicone around the implant. But this was not the case and now told that I'll only get 500 off at most and treatment will still cost 6500 to 7000. Go through any paperwork you get with a fine tooth comb

I feel so much more confident in myself and everyone at the clinic made me feel so comfortable. I had rhinoplasty done here 7 years ago. Ended up very sick afterwards, when the bandage came off there was little to no difference in my before and after. I was very dissatisfied. I went back for revision surgery but still no major difference in my nose. I am currently waiting to get my nose done at a clinic in the UK. I personally would not recommended this place. Also when I wrote a negative review on their Facebook page they blocked me so they don't seem to have any transparency in their reviews.

I had my stomach done in Avoca in May and am very happy with the results. the only criticism I have is that I was waiting 30 mins for my appointment each time so that's the only thing that could be improved. Otherwise the doctor was great, and found the nurses v nice.

Pushy, Rude and unhelpful staff. Absolutely NO after care.. 4 weeks after surgery and still no follow up appointment.
Tried ringing numerous times to book follow up appointment and was told they were waiting on surgeons dates when in fact my surgeon had left after only working there for 2 weeks.
Surgeon and nurses are fantastic but not worth it when you dont get the aftercare you pay for.
Take the money then just leave you!

In 2018 i had tickle liposuction done on my chest. I can finally wear fitted clothes and not be self conscious. the doctor was very good
