Upmarket pub / local hotel with a good menu and helpful staff
The staff are very polite and courteous I always enjoy coming here for a meal or just a drink.
Great hotel but being refurbished reppens in october. Brillant that they have left rooms open to use toilet for people using the supercharger.
Just popped in for lunch in the bar - always good food at reasonable prices. Staff are very friendly and welcoming of well behaved dogs.
Staff were polite, and attentive. Food was brilliant, and portions were just about right.
We sat in the lounge and had drinks next to the fire. Quite cosy.
The menu was written in such a way that you didnt know what things were but made to sound posh. It was very expensive, you didnt get much food on the plate & the Steak tasted like Beefburger with a horrible sauce on. This was the most expensive & worst food i've ever experienced on a meal out but the service was very good.
Very relaxed atmosphere in hotel bar for an excellent lunch. Most pleasant reception and bar staff. Good food well cooked and presented.
A lovely hotel which has had a lot of refurbishment while closed but have kept toilet facilities available for folks needing to charge their cars. Look forward to spending time for a meal as and when open for business.
Quaint and charming but not cramped. Not ritz either. But food is. Fishing- especially instruction- is a++. Old limestone quarry (deep) filled with rainwater over the years has huge rainbows that take to the fly readily. Tamar is extensive system that is border between devon and corwall. Tons of nature and field sports. Did i mention the food? 2003
Yesterday, I went to Arundell Arms to fish because I had won this day out in a competition and I took my dad too.
We wandered down to the cockpit and met a lovely man called Alex- he gave us some awesome flies that caught us lots and lots of fish!
We started off in the Lyd river and had SO much fun in the water, there is lots to explore there too! You need to be careful where you walk/wade because there are a few very deep dips in the water, but mostly it is very shallow. Unfortunately we didn t catch any fish in the river but we spent a lot of time there!
After we had lunch both of us drove to the Tinhay lake and caught 14 rainbow trout as we walked around half of the lake! It rained slightly which was really nice and the water was so beautiful when the water hit the surface of the lake! We spent ages there it was SO fun!
THANK YOU SO MUCH

Absolutely amazing. Service was first class and the food was outstanding.
After many years the Arundell have a new master chef. We came to lunch on Sunday wondering if it would be up to usual standard, it was , and really excellent. Praise to, to the staff serving in the dining/bar areas. Hotel very busy but tables cleared quickly and service attentive.Thank you .
Cozy hotel with a classic interior. Not wheelchair friendly (old building). Very tasty to eat.
Popped in for a drink. It was nice and quiet. Comfy sofa by the fire. Service was very friendly from the lady that served me. Another young lad went off to get me some darts so I could have a little game. Guinness was nice. Really nice place. Would return again and again if I were local
Really lovely lunch menu, friendly staff, good wine list. Will happily visit again
Very friendly and helpful staff.
House keeping first class.
What fabulous food, well appointed comfortable accommodation, great location for visiting west country and just amazing for a private dinner party.
My guests were most impressed, well looked after and had a wonderful time.
Stayed two nights here. Lovely pub. Good rooms. Friendly staff and a fantastic breakfast. Lovely cozy feel and a secret garden out back. Top marks for this price point. Do Not stay in room number 6 or 7 directly above the bar area. Really enjoyed our stay. 5 stars every day!
Used Tesla destination charger and enjoyed dinner at the restaurant.
Absolutely loved this place. The staff, the ambiance and the food were a fantastic. They catered for our dog and even cooked him his own sausage for breakfast. Would definitely stay here again if I am down this way in the future
Just stopped in for drinks and a quick bite and or was perfect. Wonderful food, smiley service and Brazil decor. Will be returning!
A superb country house hotel with award winning restaurant and bar service. Friendly and helpful staff, lovely atmosphere and highly recommended as a place to stay or eat out on the Cornwall/Devon boarder.
Used the Tesla charger here, don't know about the hotel but it looks nice.
