Good place to go on Friday & Saturday nights. Maybe one of the best of LA and the west coast.
Good place to go on Friday & Saturday nights. Maybe one of the best of LA and the west coast.
Definitely most friendliest and diverse place in west Hollywood.
I have been going to the Abbey since it opened and was a small fun experience. Breakfast was always good. Now, it is getting to big for ambiance and waitstaff appears to be dismal failed actors.
The space is cool.
Drinks are gross.
DJs suck 90% of the time.
Not a bad establishment. Came her with my gf and had a decent time!
Didn't go in because it was so packed. But it seemed like a good place to turn up.
Its the biggest and most fun place to hang out. #Gay#Strippers#Drinks#Food
Terrible expensive, the security guards are violent....the Abby used to be the place to go ,but those days are gone. There are much better choices on WeHo
Great place! We were there for pride weekend and had an amazing time! Everyone was so friendly, the staff, the crowd, the dancers ... food also very good! We will definitely go there again on our next visit to LA.
I was recommended this place, as I came to town for RDC. And, it wasn't too disappointing. I would go again.
I was impressed especially being with the popularity of the bar. Service was great and no issues on my end. Thank you!
Great place to dance, relax and even the food is awesome!
Yum the breakfast and brunch are amazing. The service is impeccable and beautiful people. The ambience is from a different world and it's so happy and full of pride. I had so much fun with my friend here and we soaked in West Hollywood vibes and staples together
Cool place. The food was good but lost some quality being served in to go boxes, it wasn't busy at the time and some presentation would have made the meal better.
This place is racist or the employee's, walked in on Friday @4:30Pm
Sat down at the bar and waited and waited the bar tender looked at me many times and never assist me with anything I got up from my seat and changed seats to where the bar tender was I ask him if there were any drinks specials at this time, he looked at me with a disgusting look like he didn't want to assist me so I repeated the question again he stated NO With an attitude and walked away, I believe it's because I was black and I had on my gym clothes on I had just came from the gym so I sat there for an extra 60 secs to see if he would give me some drink options etc..he didn't and continue to look at me with a disgusting look
So I got up and left. Wow I can't believe we still live in days like this. I'm very disappointed and it's unacceptable! To me and my culture.
Some of the best tapas on our trip to the US. Great music, atmosphere and stunning dancers! Had an awesome time.
Despite the fact how much we love Abbey, we left disappointed today. It was Friday night and surprisingly it was a little empty. Music was so bad and I told my friend I always wanted to try their food because a lot of good reviews.
Their guacamole is the worst we have ever tried. Why do they make it so RIDICULOUSLY HOT? My tongue doesn't feel anything and I'm a fan of spicy food. Does not worth $10 we paid.
Their other food we ordered was not that impressive. Very average type of food. In my opinion overpriced and overrated.
Time to find another place.
Do not go here if your straight. They will ignore you. Awful service and poorly managed. I love the gay community tmbut this place is rude and disrespectful. Do not eat here or go here. Find another gay bar.
Nice night at Abbey. No cover charge. My friend couple and me had a good time
Love the Abbey am here about 2x a week when am home not traveling for work ..haha
Food A++
Great pleople who I loveeeee++
The club itself has interesting lay out: main entrance with the bar, dance lounge with restrooms (a little down), open roof smoking area, sit down restaurant and another area bar. Music can be heard in all areas. There is no cover charge (or at least there wasn't when I went on Saturday night). The drinks are good and made to request (more vodka, sweeter etc), service is great. Music, however, I would put on the downside: wasn't too technical, remixes weren't great. Just some regular motives to shake to.. Parking (of course), but valet is available for $10. People are not that friendly.. Everybody is looking and staring at you but noone would come out and start talking to you or invite to dance with you. Overall there was a feeling of "not welcomed" and snobbish people in there, just rich kids came to hang out and drink like for a regular night
I had a great experience here for my 21st birthday on April 26. Fun club, good music, good people. Hot dancers. Make sure you keep your shirt on though or they'll ask you to leave. I will definitely return many times in the future!
Just experienced the abbey for the first time! Live for the bartender mike, but unfortunately the service from other staff was extremely rude David was intense and honestly was very extreme. I come from a community where we respect people. David does not have that in him.
So I love the Abbey for what it is - a super fun and unique LA experience, BUT whoever is in charge of security on Monday nights (12/2), needs to reanalyze how the get guests to exits. They forced us to get up and leave 20 mins before More
I will always love this place. For me, it's about mornings, coming here with my two uncles when they lived in N Alfred and eating a wonderful breakfast in the cool of the morning before the heat of the day really bit. Great food, polite service, a great alternative spot to start your day.
Always a fun place! Not much of a dancer myself nor am I a drinker but I have a blast watching the dancers and hanging out. The desserts here are to die for! We had one of the giant ding dongs, it was delicious and was large enough to split with a few people. Definitely one of my favorite places in WeHo
Love the food and the atmosphere here! Used to be my goto club but the people dynamic has changed so much. Lots of roofies, tons of frat bros and their girlfriends. The chapel next door is now the good gay hang. My favorite times here at the Abbey are brunch on the weekends! The atmosphere is the best!!
want to get robbed? go there. THEY SET YOU UP AND ROBB YOU. SHAME ON THE MANAGEMENT!
Everytime I visit West Hollywood it is this bar I typically place on my schedule to visit. I go to the bar, I order a fabulous cocktail, and I enjoy the scene and the shows. I recommend it to anyone planning a visit to WeHo.
Excellent cocktails and apps! Highly recommend. The staff are so friendly and welcoming.
Wow just spoke to someone extremely rude. Asked about the shut down due covid 19. He clearly didnt want to speak to me
I was planing to have a such great day with my friend from Italy in this place but unfortunately we had a uncomfortable and embarrassing moment. The old Bartender guy with colorful socks was very rude doing bad jokes and talking in Spanish with me ironically. I do not speak Spanish although I love the language. Then, he said the drink was $8 because it was happy hour but he charged $17 each drink. We paid everything even we know it was wrong. He treated us by gender, race or social status. My friend is Italian and I am Brazilian but we are citizenship with a great income but he treated us as a poor tourists just because we are talking other language. He wants earn money ? Work a lot , do not charge extra money from the customers or judge the customer by the race.
Good experience for the 2nd time. It does get a bit crowded for the after work rush. Crowd is, I hate to say it, typical weho crowd, but some nice diversity is happening slowly. Enjoyable. Good music. Good drinks. Decent bartenders, only drawback, typical weho... Drink prices. When you can buy a bottle for the same price as the drink, something is not right. Just sayin'.
The vibe was great! The drinks are super strong and the ravioli was really good. They should have a monthly lesbian night , then it d be my favorite favorite bar!
next time i'll be back with my friends. this place has a great atmosphere.
One of the best bars I have ever been to all kinds of room different sections a lot of fun and food and drinks service are really good
West Hollywood staple since I turned 21! Even before, it was a trendy bar that has stood the test of time! Two bars, front bar is more lunge like and back bar is so you can drink while dancing. Great music in the back room for dancing but it can get way too packed so beware. Sadly smoking is still allowed on the front patio but what can you do...
Love this place. Tuesday with Tamara. Eddie is great. Monica is the best. Ask for Adam.
They have a fabulous outdoor Terrace with easily accessible bar great seating fun ambiance. This is the Fun Spot in West Hollywood to dance mingle and have a good time. Who's who of Hollywood always stops by it's the perfect spot to meet cool interesting people in the industry. Everyone here is sexy, especially the go-go dancers! The music is always fun table service is exceptional. They make strong drinks and the bartenders are really fast. Be sure to tip them well and they'll take good care of you. It's the place to be seen. Wish they had more restrooms because it's always crowded with a long line. But the Russians are super clean well-maintained and fully stocked with all you need. After the drinks are flowing you'll find yourself having an amazing wild and crazy night with a lot of stories to tell the next day.
Amazing drinks, great music, and dancers to set the perfect vibe
It used to be a charming little restaurant and bar , but now it has turned into a crowded mad house. The bouncers are extremely angry and abusive straight men that eargerly await to physically assault the gay patrons.Avoid this place
I love the Abbey, but the food service is spotty for sure. Great dance club though :)
Two women and one man went to work on a weekday.
Moreover, all the clubs around America are surprised that the entrance fee is free.
The chips can be played well for $ 1 or $ 5, so those who talked with them were also very happy.
the worst Gay club I've ever been! so I went there on a friday night alone. The bartender told me that a double whiskey with ginger was $$$20and(woah) and when I handed in a hundred bill, he gave me back two FIVESs and some ONEs(woah). The funnier thing is that when I turn to another bartender, they ask for a bottle of bud light for $$$15.I guess I'm not welcomed there and either they are dying for some extra moneys.
This little quaint spot has some of the most deliciousfood.I ve ever tasted in my life!
In a word, God sees everything! And I'm just a dachshund and never mind
Fun place to visit. Especially on the weekends. Parking can be hard but there is a small valet parking area towards the back that closes at 2am. So good for everynight (just not a super late night). The Chapel next door (also part of the Abbey) is a beautiful edition. Great music. And handsome dancers
Bartender was sweet. But I must say the smell is... well... its gross... it reminds me of old cheap beer that's been rotting under the bar.... it was so bad that I had to drink outside. But that's my only complaint
I was roofied at this place and got my phone, wallet and sunglasses stolen. The next day when I came to - I saw the thief spent over 7000 dollars using my credit card. I was warned by my co-workers that this sort of thing could happen at the Abbey but never seriously thought it would happen to me. I am from Toronto and wanted to see what the nightlife was like - but it cost me more than I bargained for. Reading the reviews - I see now this is common at the Abbey so I suggest avoiding this place at all costs, especially if you're a solo traveler.
The Abbey is my favorite LGBT-friendly club/bar/lounge in West Hollywood. I have been coming here for 8 years and have always had a great time.
Doesn't matter if you're straight, gay, bi... everyone is welcome!
Went there for Pride 2015 and that was amazing!! My boyfriend had been raving about this place for months and when I finally got to go with him, I was in LA LA land!! :)) This is a great place with a lot of chill people having a good time in WeHo, what more could you ask?
MARTINI VERY DRY
His thing is to give a curl at night to see the atmosphere, this year we have seen something down (it is normal to be crowded) but I prefer the tranquility of the terrace at the time of Martini.
Sigh. I remember when The Abbey was a nice, friendly respite from WeHo's manic clubs.
Expensive and too crowded but always busy. The security guards can have too much attitude sometimes.
Great music great drinks great service and all around the best place to unwind."
So many good memories!!! I miss the Abbey I wish they would open one here in NYC.
It's okay, no entrance fee and always full even on Sundays..
Abbey is definitive my favourite LGBT club in LA. Great diversity of people, great food and drinks, fit and handsome waiters and a freaking cool main bar. Long lines for the restrooms during late hours, but the security is doing a really good job maintain order even when its packed.
I had a blast at this place when I visited Los Angeles. It was very nice and I went on a Sunday night when it was not too busy. Drinks were good and the place is awesome! They have a beautiful fireplace and there's a bakery and coffee shop in there too! I was in awe. The bakery had the best brownie I have ever had. I really enjoyed it and hope to get back again for some more drinks, coffee and sweets!
I had a great time here! The fried chicken with mash potatoes was life changing!
The place is a non-stop thrill ride. the drinks are great, the people are fun. it's just a good time in a small bottle. different events on thursday and saturday. its a must if you like to go all the way to west hollywood. food is a bit pricey but other than that it's great.
I wish I could reply to some of these negative reviews. The Abbey is an institution to the LGBTQA community. People need to stop create new accounts and submitting hateful stuff. Why are they hiding? Abby has always been ahead of the hospitality curve. Great drinks, dancers, bartenders, great social media presence no other bar I know is active like the Abbey. They have great food and a great management team. I met my partner at the Abbey. Wish we had a Abbey in D.C.
Horrible staff. Horrible place. Keep your personal belongings close.
The most fascinating place I've ever spent New Year's the whole strip in West Hollywood California is unbelievable The Abbey is hands-down the best!!
Drinks are a bit expensive but what do you expect! Still a great place to visit. It's a gay bar but we didn't mind it, good fun and plenty of friendly people dancing and having the craic
Tried to make a reservation for Saturday night but was not permitted to do so with only a party of two, but we didnt need them. It was packed and we still had whatever tables we wanted! The locals are VERY friendly and welcoming and the staff was as well! I had a mango bloody mary that was TO DIE FOR!! Can't wait to visit again!
Fun place to be on Friday and Saturday nights. They really do cater to every letter of LGBTQ+. The drinks are pretty strong.
Fun. The watermelon martini is my favourite drink. Happy Hour is a great deal. Super fun place to hang out.
Honestly my fav place in LA if you wanna go dancing. They should be open until 4... OMG can you imagine that? Really crowded I have to admit so prepare yourself...
Very well designed lounge with a full bar, expert decorations and a cool vibe. We went here for happy hour and drinks. Wasn't in love with the food menu, but it takes a minimalist approach. Bartenders were nice.
Didn t send me my burger protein style and told the driver to tell me to take the buns off . How hard is it to put my burger wrapped in lettuce? Also told the driver that my food came with fries when I ordered a side salad. Didn t send me with fries. Whoever worked tonight has 0 customer service.
The music is geared more towards techno or house beats. It can get pretty crowded and you have to walk through all the smokers to get inside. They have a small selection of baked goods inside at the chapel. And though the male dancers are usually cute, they don't do a whole lot however, the woman dancers always bring a solid energy to their performances
I ve been attending abbeys for about 3 years now. My absolute favorite bar to go out to. The atmosphere is incredible. The drinks are made strong and not expensive. You can sit, stand, dance, do whatever you want there is so many options. I m personally not gay but it s also for straight people. I have a lot of friends that are gay that go and a lot of friends that are straight and go. It s open for everyone and it really is fun to go to abbeys and see all the cool people and dancers and it s not your average dance bar. That s why I enjoy it so much. I m there at least once a week and I m never let down after going there.
Great drinks and music. Perfect for a Sunday Funday or night out. Love sitting out on the patio.
