Not what I expected from looking at it from the outside!! 90 year old theatre!! Very charming inside and bigger than I imagined!! Will be back when in the area. The biggest downside is no parking. Drove around and around and finally found a spot with a short 5-6 min walk.

Thought it was going to be old, dank, and musty. Boy was I wrong. This is a classic theatre that is clean and fresh. No its not one of those new fangled reclining seats, ear shattering sound system theatre, but it is comfortable and nostalgic. I would recommend this theatre.

This theatre is located in the hipster part of Long Beach. I went here to see a documentary about skidrow running clue. Judge Craig Mitchell wasn't present at the premier that I went to, but a few of the guys who were in the documentary were present. It was very moving.

It's a cute theatre. You can get popcorn, sodas, and wine.

Place is pretty small, but there s enough seating for everyone. Screen and audio are reasonably good. Snacks are fairly affordable. Only thing I do not like is finding parking. Probably I HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting dropped off from someone or take uber.

Cute single-theatre movie spot that shows art and indie films. They have beer and wine and all of the usual movie snacks for purchase at the desk. No need to print your tickets if you buy online, they'll look it up for you. Street parking can be tricky on this main road, so turn down a side street for quicker, easier parking. Movie is in the middle of a bunch of great shops, restaurants, and bars.

Went there to go see The Rocky Horror Picture Show very good overall but the only complaint I have which makes this experience really bad is the parking situation, it took exactly one half hour to find a parking space, the City of Long Beach needs to address this issue ASAP, tear down some buildings and make a parking structure, Hello! I don't know how the local residents can cope! a very sad situation when you cannot find a parking space at midnight

I have been here 4 times - once to see Rocky Horror and 3 times to watch a movie. Since it's not stadium seating, the best seats are on the end of the rows. I watched a movie with subtitles and it was difficult to see around the guy's head in front of me who found it difficult to see past the head in front of him.

It's a cool spot though and feels good to support a local business. Plus they serve beer and wine.

Beautifully restored theatre that shows great films and documentaries. Best of all, it's located in the heart of Long Beach's Retro Row, an awesome neighborhood packed full of vintage clothing, furniture and record shops. The Art Theatre also has a terrific wine bar and yummy falafel shop in front of it, and there are great restaurants and bars featuring live music nearby, so go check out a movie at the Art Theatre of Long Beach tonight. You won't be sorry!!

One of Long Beach's treasures. Theater always shows independent films or brings back classics. The lobby is small and sells snacks and alcoholic beverages. The theater itself seats a lot of people, I've never seen it full since I've gone. Very pleasant experience if you want to get away from the riff Raff. Facilities were clean and staff is friendly. Parking might be tricky.

I love this spot! One of my favorite things to do is ride down to LBC with my bestie for brunch on a Sunday and then catch a movie at the Art Theater. It's a 40mi. loop from my house and well worth it! Great indie movies at a reasonable price and they let us park our bicycles in the back row of the theater. Thank you Art Theater!

Went last night to see The Exorcist. Very charming, clean theatre. As a video post production editor I was also pleasantly surprised by a clean video and audio presentation. Wanted to chat a little with management in regards to what projector they used ( Christie/Barco/DP) very impressed with it's calibration

LOVE! parking was hard to find but other then that everything is nice the people, the snacks, and the area is well maintained. It is a small theatre. Happy to have seen ANGELINA JOLIE here for the Cambodian film festival. Would recommend coming here.

I love this theater! I actually feel good about spending money to see movies when I can support a place like this. They re so wonderful every time I ve been. It s a cool old gem of Long Beach, and they ve done a great job of keeping it up. Sometimes it s packed, and sometimes - like in the middle of the week in the afternoon - you might be one of 2 people in the theater (which is super fun). I also trust their choice of movies more than most places. Plus their popcorn is made with vegan butter, you can bring your own food and drink, and if you get a stamp card, you get free popcorn after 5 movies, and a free movie after 10 (with double stamp Wednesdays).

Screen and picture quality were good, but I really liked it I'm like newer theaters they didn't have the sound up so loud that it blows your hair back. Beer and wine in the lobby, no more sneaking it in like you were in high school. Fabulous selection of both new and Art House films. The only real problem would be parking. We need to keep theaters like this around. I mean where else are you going to see Rocky Horror Picture Show?

Quaint and charming old theater with a lot of character. They show very cool artsy movies as well as foreign films, and Rocky Horror Picture Show every Saturday night at midnight. You can bring your own wine - there is even a wine bar next door where you can buy a bottle to bring in with you! Vibe is laid back. Loved my experience.

Very cool old school theater. Small and the concession stand sells beer! It always plays strange and not so strange films there all the time. This place will bring you back to the days of when going to a theater was new. Very friendly staff and a man named Jeff. I think he owns it or is just a worker there, but a very nice man. Go go go! See something there! It's an experience all on it's own. It'll take you back a bit, even if you weren't alive yet in that era.

I went here to see the movies Rango, and Heels. Every movie I have seen there has been great. They also have a free film fest type thing every year and do a live Rocky Horror Picture Show every week.

Very neat place. I had my short film premiere here and they were very welcoming and put my name on the marquee for my family and friends to see. It was amazing and I loved their kindness. They let me give out posters and souvenirs to my guest and the quality of my film looked great on the big screen. Thanks art theatre!

Kind of place you hope never dies as have too many old single-screen theaters. Frequently, they show some obscure films or wide distribution. THE "Rocky Horror" spot.
Cool family vibe with great 1-for-ten rewards program. Comfortable place with wine bars and restaurants steps away. I'm a regular.

I Loved This Theatre.

I Loved This Theatre.
From the smell of fresh poped corn as I walked through the front doors, to the royal blue curtains that lift and drop over it's large movie screen. It has the fabulous ambience of times past.

A no-frills theater. The place it's markedly improved after the remodel and it's a much improved viewing experience. They offer a nice selection of independent films. The bathrooms are attractive, but a bit tight.
