Thames Hotel Review

Nice location. Clean and tidy but needs updating. Rooms dated and bed too soft. Toilet in room did not flush and sadly what someone left behind was still in the loo. On complaining we were told no one had been in room for a few days which made it even worse. Stayed for a party so it served a purpose. Would not stay again but the food was good so may pop in if ever in the area again.

A very nice hotel with lovely views over the Thames

A lovely, historic hotel with very accommodating staff! A pub overlooking the Thames with a very local feel and a beautiful Italian restaurant attached with an authentic menu and experience.
I look forward to staying here again!

Interesting location for a visit to Windsor. Bathroom a little sketchy.

A beautiful hotel, very friendly service, great food an all round 10/10!

No lift, so I had to carry my 30kg suitcase up to the third floor. Room was very small and cramped and smelled quite musty. No hairdryer, only basic toiletries. I got in late and went right to sleep not realising the heater was on FULL and I woke up parched. Quite a lot of noise from the street outside. Not sure how this qualifies as a 3 star hotel.

This is a great little BnB rite on the Thames. Good amount of parking to rear, and a decent breakfast for those whom value a fry up.

Enjoyed the food, the staff were friendly, the rooms were lovely, very traditional hotel, good for a night or 2 stay.

Very pleasant staff and a delicious breakfast in the morning - full english, cereal, toast and fruit all available. Double bed seemed quite small, although it was comfy. Room was incredibly hot, bearable with the window open and 0 degrees outside! Only other annoying thing was very squeaky floor, and I mean nearly every step!

Over priced for a hotel that has seen better days. Sash windows wouldn't stay open. Bathroom door had been kicked in, laminate was peeling off the rest of the door. Mattress was too small for the bed.

The only saving grace was friendly staff.

Staff were lovely, location was good, close to station and gorgeous canal. However the rooms were outdated and the bathroom was not clean

I've stayed here two times. Last time light on the bathroom was broken so they moved me a to a better room immediately. Very nice hotel for the price you pay. Very nice staff. The only thing I don't recommend is the restaurant, as it tends to take to long and is a little bit plain.

Nice small traditional hotel with an attached pub and ltalian restaurant. Food very good for the price. An upmarket gastropub is just down the road as well. Twenty minutes from Heathrow and much cheaper than the ones close to the airport. Only downside is no lift in the building.

I like it here. Staff are always nice and the food is really good and fairly priced.

The room we stayed in had a radiator that was on full heat and couldn't be turned down. On night 2 we were moved to another room which had draughty windows. Although the beds were comfortable we felt uncomfortable on both nights fot the previous reasons. The prices of drinks in the bar were ridiculously high.

Decent price for a serviceable room for a weekend getaway. Staff are courteous and helpful. We'll go again.

The restaurant is called Blue River Cafe situated on the ground floor of Thames Riviera Hotel in Maidenhead by the River Thames.

Fast and efficient service on New Year s Day and great ambience at lunch time. The restaurant was about 20% full and not very crowded but the speed and efficiency of the staff was admirable.

We ordered some lunch baguettes with soup and the red Merlot wine by the glass. All arrived promptly but the wine tasted off or may have been corked! Upon complaint the manager changed it immediately to Malbec. This was superb and tasted excellent.

It was very convenient to park in the allocated car park just outside the Restaurant.

Beautiful area charmed dated but nice staff are nice booked an room single got upgraded for double room free of charge river situated just across room are clean with plenty of space for storage iron available

Polite and helpful staff but rooms are dated.

If after the family room they are actually two separate rooms with what I feel is a poor layout as can't see into either room. So if you have very young children need to take this into account

Thames hotel overlooking the river not far from Maidenhead town centre. Great restaurant ( Italian ) in hotel also a bar overlooking the river seating inside or out . Prices are reasonable.

Nice beer, nice surrondings! Bar staff are friendly too. Only down side is that the food downstairs is amazing but the food upstairs isn't great. Surely it comes from the same kitchen?

Room was spacious if a little dated, plus there was what appeared to be a water station on the ceiling. Shower was hot and powerful. The bed was pretty tough and noise from other guests moving in their rooms made our a little difficult to sleep. The breakfast though, was very good, lots of options

Just arrived and already impressed. Lovely Room. Lovely views. Clean and light and tidy. Good friendly bar. We had a fantastic meal in the hotel's Trevi Italian restaurant which also does a really really good English breakfast. Very happy to recommend this hotel.

Lovely place to stay that's very clean with friendly staff and the Thames burger served in the bar is quite simpley the best burger I've ever had . To make sure i wasn't dreaming i had the same on night two . Top marks to all at the Thames Hotel

Very friendly staff but weirdly when we ordered food our starter arrived at the same time as our main courses.
There was a band Saturday night, but we couldn't hear it in our room so that was OK.
Comfortable bed but no hot water in the morning.
Altogether a very mixed opinion but the no hot water means we won't return

It was good for the price, there was a small hole in one of the walls, the curtains were slightly hanging off and we were awoken at 6am to someone else on the floor being arrested...
Breakfast was brilliant with a great selection and good quality food.

Good location but the rooms are very dated. Badly needs an overhaul.

A lot of traffic noise from the main road, otherwise quiet and okay. Good breakfast.

I was visiting the bar for the live music. The bar itself is a fairly standard affair. The decor is a bit tired, and there are big screen TVs on the walls for the sports crowd. The staff are friendly and welcoming and they have a good range of drinks and decent food. Live music is great.

Had a very nice evening out with jam session entertainment.

Best breakfast in Maidenhead ! Sausages are amazing.

Very good basic accommodation in an expensive part of the UK.

We stayed at the Thames hotel for one night. The reception was friendly and checked us in quickly. As per our own request they gave us a room on the top floor to avoid having guest in the room above us. The bedroom was large and clean with coffee making facilities and iron board. The bed was springy but comfortable. The windows did not stop a lot of noise from outside coming in and the geese on the river woke us up early. The bathroom was quite dated with the shower not great. The shower head did not go up high and the water supply was not great at all. Adjusting the water temperature was struggle

We are regulars at this restaurant - coming once or twice a week - and the food never fails to impress us. Whether it be a margharita pizza, vegetable risotto or pesto pasta, standards don't drop. A definite recommendation for couples, families or singletons.

Nice food, great service, nice view, definitely will go again!

Just an average hotel at average prices. Always stay here when on business.

Excellent Italian restaurant - friendly service - conscientious owner - great location.

So far so good the food is great and the River Thames is just a stones throw away . The rooms are nice and functional and the prices very reasonable considering the area. The staff are friendly and helpful and it is twinned with an Italian restaurant (real pizza oven).

My room was very dated with some fixings broken ie shower door handle. Staff were pleasant and food was good.

This hotel is becoming a bit from down but it's in a great location on the Thames and I even got an attic room overlooking the river. Breakfast is fine and plentiful, there's free parking and staff are friendly.

The service was very slow we were quicker getting the bill than any of the drinks and weren't even offered a food menu, room was great over all nice stay

Breakfast was great, traditional english breakfast. Hotel is very old and without elevator. Parking is large with video cameras. Shower was partially damaged and did not worked properly. Bed was unconfortable.

Echo what the internet appears to say in that the hotel is tired and needs decorating. You can measure the quality of the breakfast by sausage alone and the Thames delivers in that regard. Fine for a Legoland stay if you're looking for nothing more than a room and bed.

The room was hot most of the time with little to no flow of air to help. I left early to go to a better hotel but the food served for breakfast was amazing.

Basically because of the staff there.

I was there for five weeks in total made a list of things for you:

-They were all welcoming in the morning and after I finished work.

-Beds were comfy and the morning breakfast was on point

-Restaurant and and bar staff easy to chat to and always happy to help (Daviola Pizza was amazing Right amount of spice gonna miss it thank you chefs).

All in all great experience thank you to all the staff see you again in a couple months

The car park has no security, the electric gates for the secure car park do not work, and during my stay two cars had their windows smashed including my van, when I asked the receptionist why the gates wasn't shut they told me they haven't More
