Really nice experience going here. Great for family kids. They have sharks dolphins and 4D theater as well. We spent almost 5 hours to explore everything here. Nice view outside, you can take some pictures of USS as well. Tips they do serve beer on G floor outside and it is perfect for a sunny day in Corpus Christi.

For my girlfriend and I, this was our first time visiting the Texas State Aquarium. If what the establishment advertises is true, then this is a place where wild animals and humans should meet. The aquarium focuses on animals requiring rehabilitation in order to be let go back into the wild, not to be held captive for human entertainment purposes. Based on our experience, you can't go wrong with making a trip to CC just to visit the Texas State Aquarium. There is a water park for kids, a 4D Theater, an outdoor boardwalk area, a restaurant, a dip n dots, several shows to attend showcasing sea turtles, birds, dolphins, and other wild and exotic animals, on top of all the other exhibits available in the quite large facility with several levels. And for the curators, owners, and high management of the Texas State Aquarium, I hope you're not anything like SeaWorld behind closed doors. Don't make me take back and regret this five star review.
We were completely impressed with the Texas State Aquarium. It's got a little of everything-- birds, reptiles and sealife. Best part is the opportunities they give the public to touch or interact with the wildlife. Touch manta rays, watch shark feedings, or take in the dolphin show. You won't be disappointed.
Great shows! Fish & shark feedings, and a dolphin show. I had the best time feeding the sting rays. There was also a wildlife show with a wildcat and birds. This aquarium is a non profit which works with animal rescue with the intent to rehabilitate and release the animals, that are able, back into the wild. Great way to spend a day if you're near the gulf coast of Texas.
Beautiful place very entertaining for children, they have many activities, a great variety of fish, visually a very nice place to visit. We did not see the dolphin show due to lack of time but I heard good comments, the ponds look very clean. The food is very good, they have variety and well served. My girl loved it, I will take her again without a doubt
I wasn't expecting it to be amazing but I was very disappointed in the small areas where they hosted the shows of the animals such as the Dolphins and the section where they brought out quite a few Birds, I forgot got the name of it but it was very tight and hot. It seemed like they just wanted to cram as much people in as possible which I understand but was not comfortable at all. The only thing my family seem interested in was the turtles. It's not worth the money, the Heat or the aggravation of so many people next to you. There is not enough animals for viewing. I would love to go back for the water park for my child but other than that I will never take a visit back to Texas State Aquarium.
We drive 4h every year to visit this aquarium every year. Not only the prettiest I have visited, feet from the ocean, buy they are also fully focused in conservation. They rescue hundreds of animals, heal them and release them to the wild. Most of the animals that are "permanent staff" have disabilities and will not survive by themselves. This really creates awareness among visitors
4D theatre is fun, worth the short wait. The large tanks with sharks are the best. Make sure to touch the manta rays. The tiny, tiny, tiny sea horses are amazing. We did not watch the dolphin show...so no comment on that. Most exhibits seemed natural and good for the animals...but turtle and dolphin areas could be better.
We visited here on vacation and loved the interactive experiences with the different Marine life. Petting the Moon Jellyfish was definitely a neat experience that the adults and children alike really enjoyed, and the dolphin show was really fun and informative. The kids loved the splash pad! Make sure you bring plenty of spending money as food and drinks are pretty pricey, but most places like this are the same way and I'm sure it goes towards improvements and various programs. We would definitely visit again on our next trip here if more was added.
Love coming here! Always a good time! The new exhibits are awesome! Gets busy on the weekend, but not bad. The food is pretty good. The little waterpark is great to cool down the kiddos. If you haven't been here in a while, it is time to visit again. I go at least 4 times per year.
If you enjoy seeing animals cared for while creating an enjoyable learning experience. This is a great place to go. It is not a zoo. It doesn't keep animals just for the sake of having them. I guess the fish are though. However most of the animals here are unable to survive in wild, due to injuries.
I was very excited for this aquarium because the reviews were so great. I was a little weary because the tickets were a little expensive. After buying our tickets, we went to the stands for the employees to scan them. One employee was helping another family so we went to the other employee. There were 2 standing at the podium just talking and wouldn't even look at us so we had to wait for the other employee. We went inside and saw the dolphin for my toddler to take a picture with. There were people just crowded around so we didn't know there was a line until we'd been standing for 10 minutes and an employee let us know. We started in the Gulf of Mexico and everything seemed pretty nice. Ryan(an employee) was showing people shark skin which was very interesting. He seemed very knowledgeable so that was nice. We got to the jellyfish section and there was another employee(did not catch her name) who didn't seem to know much about the jellyfish. We asked if there was anything special about them and she said "not really, they are good treats for the turtles". That was irritating. We finished that side by 12:30 and went to the 1:00 dolphin show. There were quite a few people already seated for the show. There was a lot of space between people and yet no employee made an effort to have people make room for everyone else standing. We were told to be there 30 minutes early and we were and couldn't get a seat. The employees basically had a "sucks for you" attitude about it. We then went to see other areas of the aquarium because it was way to hot to be standing directly under the sun. I was a little disappointed because most exhibits didn't have signs so we didn't know what anything was. There is also only one bathroom in the underwater area which makes for an extremely long wait. Definitely won't be recommending this aquarium to anyone.
For my granddaughters second birthday, it was very informative, well layed our and everyone was very knowledgeable and see.ed happy at their jobs. What a great place! Full glass walls for even the smallest person to easily see the sea creatures! Jellyfish, urchins and Ray's you can touch! Beautiful sharks you can walk right under!
We had so much fun! This was a highlight of the trip and worth going to; they have a lot of interactive exhibits and plenty of information on the different fishes! There's a dolphin show, a rehabilitated animal show, and they feed various different aquatic life. We got to feed the stingrays and it was a very unique experience. Definitely will return when we're back in town.
Wonderful aquarium with fairly reasonable prices. At first I was surprised by the cost but then I got in and realized practically everything once you enter is included. You can pet and feed the sting rays, watch a dolphin show with plenty of tricks, and see another animal show all for just the entrance fee.
Same place but very clean ...love the aquatic life... They now have a couple of sloths, so cool... My visit they were sleeping, so I only saw a cute ball of fur!
Fantastic experience. The dolphins are great to watch underwater. Carribean exhibit is mesmerizing. I can spend several days just staring at the aquarium.
The aquarium itself was great... The food, not so much. All three of us had something that had the nacho cheese on it, my daughter had nachos, I had the Frito pie, and my wife had a pretzel with the cheese to dip in.... We all got sick that night. So go for the dolphins, not so much the snack bar!
A beautiful aquarium fit for the whole family. Go during Christmas vacation so it s not crowded and not boiling hot outside. Also, if you go with a large group, you could get a group discount. Also...touch the stingrays-just do it!
We took two younger children with us this time. They are 6 and 7. They absolutely loved being able to touch the sting Ray's and sharks! Loved the dolphin show and the 4d movie! Excellent
Had a really nice fun splash pad that is included in the ticket price. You can touch a lot of different animals. Separated all the animals on where they live and you can learn lots of facts. The views was very nice. They had a lot of different animals. The dolphin exhibit was amazing. The staff was very knowledgeable about the animals. The staff was very very friendly. It was a little to pricey. They need to announce when they will have a show or put the the times on the map. Changing rooms where super hot and dirty. Overall it was a very good experience and will recommend on visiting.
Really stepped up their game. What used to be an OK aquarium is now excellent, with the addition of the Caribbean. You can see reef ecosystems from the top and from underwater making for a really educational and fun experience. Topside there are birds, frogs, and even a sloth. Food is OK, there is an onsite water splash pad, and the dolphins and otters are always a big hit. If you haven't been there since the renovation it is time to go back.
