Certainly the best brisket I've ever had.

Certainly the best brisket I've ever had.
Perfectly moist and soft, and their BBQ sauce is delicious.
Would recommend going rather early because they sell out from certain meats.
I'm from Houston, but I wouldn't mind going back to Austin just for this BBQ.

Was in town for a tattoo show at the convention center and was able to conveniently make my easy way to this location, waited in line for about 15-20 minutes ( it was a busy weekend ! ) and had a nice conversation with some locals , the brisket sandwich was something of a childhood memory-sweet savory and all around beefy! try the rolls you won t regret it.

I tried the peach cobbler (fine), brisket (good), mac n' cheese (fine), banana pudding (excellent). Combining the brisket with the mac n' cheese was a winner! The banana pudding is the real unsung hero here; don't miss it!

Great Barbecue! Both the food and service were great. The line was very long, but went quickly. It is cafeteria style so you get your food as soon as you get in. It is well worth the wait. If you visit Austin, visit Terry Black's Barbecue.

I love brisket so when I saw this place I just knew they had to have some good brisket. Wrong, I like the moist end of the brisket with the "crust" but holy moly it was soooo salty I got a head ache from the salt. $40 for a head ache, no thanks.

For our first time there, our family was pretty disappointed with the food. The sweet tea wasn't sweet, and not enough seating and we were Not going to sit outside in the cold, especially with kids. It is a small parking lot which we had to circle around about twice to park our GMC Yukon.

The food here is a little pricey but I still enjoyed myself. You pick and pull whatever you want they cut and weigh the meat right in front of you so you see exactly what you are getting. The lunch time rush is pretty heavy so get there early.

I must admit I'm a barbecue neophyte, but this is by far the best I've ever had. Their brisket is amongst the best things I've ever eaten. I also tried the sausage, ribs, and Mac and cheese. All were outstanding. If you don't live in or near Austin, come as soon as you can, there's other things to do here to. But you likely will only remember the barbecue.

Fantastic BBQ operation. I say operation because it is complete with gift shop, etc. I was a little skeptical because of this, thinking it may be a bit of a tourist trap, but the food did not disappoint. Brisket that falls apart in your mouth, delicious fresh sides, and great banana pudding. Also a great selection of beer (bottles/cans) and a big patio overlooking the park across the street.

Absolutely loved my meal, the atmosphere was great, and the place was clean.
Would highly recommend their pork ribs if you're a fan, they're sweet and soft with a bit of barbecue and their rice was very nice too.
I would definitely be coming here more often if it was closer by, but lucky for me they have one in Dallas.

Coming from North Carolina, i'm used to a slightly different type of BBQ. This was also my first place in Austin, I was not disappointed. You smell the BBQ as soon as you get out of your car and it continues till you get back into your car. It was a moderate line which moved very quickly. It is a little pricey, but good BBQ takes a while to "Mature". That being said, this place was great and i'd highly recommend it for Texas style BBQ!

Hands down the best BBQ in the country. Ya I said it, COUNTRY. Not only is the food elite but the people inside were extremely friendly. The pit bosses that cook all the meat are the best in the country as well. Hands down. Long story short, Mike and Mark have something special here and I highly advise everyone to try it.

Famous Texas bbq place with cafeteria style serving, where you queue to pick your sides and meats by number of cuts/pieces. The recommended portion sizes here are huge (think American sizing) so feel free to take that into consideration when negotiating your meal with the staff (-: Definitely worth a try when you're in Austin, be careful not to over order (because we did) but takeaway boxes available

This place is a tad pricey, but the meat is fantastic. There's a reason they sell out of meat on a regular basis. Sauces are pretty standard, but you don't need much of it, sine the diversity and quality of meats will have your taste buds dancing enough

Brisket was top notch.

Brisket was top notch.
Pork Ribs were 3.5/5 (better than good)
Jalapeno Cheese Sausage was good.
Judging on using high standards since there is a significant wait (went on a Saturday) and it is not particularly inexpensive.

Black's is a staple BBQ in Texas. Doesn't matter if it is Terry's or the original, it still tastes just as amazing. If you decide to get the beef ribs (brontosaurus ribs), just a hint, 1 is plenty and will fill you up. It is delicious and I could eat here every day!

Fantastic BBQ joint in the heart of Austin TX offering smoked meats and sides that can't compare to other bbq in the area. Ribs, sliced beef, salads, slaw, and a great selection of cold beers is just a small part of the menu. The word is out, so be prepared for long lines and limited seating. When you reach the porch in line, you'll find a window where you can purchase cold drinks. A great relief on a hot day! Fun tip: take your food to-go, and walk across the street to enjoy a picnic in the park on the river!
