This is an embarrassingly lackluster "science centre" considering what's charged for entry, and the size of the building. The planetarium show is nothing special by any means, very outdated in the technology used. The exhibits in the rest of the museum were simply just, well, bad. Poorly put together, and not very engaging. Dont waste your time on this one.

A great place to spend a day with your family. Adults and kids all have fun and learning something new about science.

A tip for the parents, bring a change of clothes and sandals for your children. Because in the Sky & Earth and the Creative Kids Museum have water playing area, your kids will get wet.
Even though they provide waterproof aprons, but demands always higher then supply s, and the aprons doesn t work very well to prevent your kids from getting wet.

"WOW" lot's of things to do for all ages and interests.
Very similar to the Ontario Science Centre in Toronto Ontario.
Food is expensive and not a very good selection.
Pay for parking, hours of operation limited.
Clean eating area and washrooms.

David was absolutely fantastic today, when my friend and I walked in both requiring assistance. We ended up having to spend 3 hours to get our phones set up, and David was very patient and professional the entire time. It was very frustrating for everyone involved - but the job got done. Thanks for all your help!! :)

This place is great for going once or twice every now and then but there isn't enough changes to go more often. They only have 1 room that they change often.. the other ones are always the same. It's absolutely worth checking out though. I wouldn't recommemd for kids under 5 (except for the playroom that is great for younger kids).

Neat place to take the kids. Could use more forward looking exhibits about the science and technology that is on the horizon. Right now it looks like "this is science and thats all folks"

Great place, everything is new, food is great and healthy, the exhibits are impressive and fun. Some of the materials for the activities are of very good quality, probably that's why the entrance is that expensive. However I went to the zoo and this place the same day and I liked this one better. Love the science stuff. The only downside is the price.

EXCELLENT OPTION FOR CHILDREN, with winter climates makes it a place that you can not miss, even also in summer. The maintenance of the place is incredible, everything works and is in perfect order.

High cost for seeing the same things. The space dome needs new information as some was outdated. And just hearing about the new things NASA and other space agencies are doing would be nice rather then the stuff that happened 4 years ago. I.e. Cassini project.

This place is great to take the kids with plenty of interactive exhibits to keep them occupied for hours. There is even a nice outdoor play area/park and the junkyard playground. Our kids had a blast.

Awesome place!!! Interactive !!!
We got to play and have fun like we haven't for years !!! And they had dogs to pet !!! Just what we needed to wind down!!!!!

Very engaging to kids with lots of hands on things to do. The science content is fairly minimal, however, with terse and occasionally incorrect explanations of how and why things worked the way they do.

At best an overpriced pay-per-use playground, at worst a shallow representation of science and complete waste of time.

Science has so much to offer, but Spark just grazes over the surface with gimmick displays that amount to forgettable interactions and little in the way of valuable learning.

Don't waste your time, take a day trip to the Royal Tyrrell instead. It'll probably be cheaper, even with the price of gas.

Great new facility but poorly organized for large groups. Adults night in particular gets very busy and depending on the theme for the month, organization and control of the large crowds can be very poor leading to a frustrating experience. Most time was spent waiting in lines for drinks or exhibits. The cafe/eatery has a limited menu during adults night and overall the menu lacks vegan/vegetarian options aside from the regular French fries, etc.

Overall, very disappointed in the new Science Centre. I went with 3 friends for a birthday celebration. We figured it might be fun to go and experience the new exhibit since it first opened.

On the outside, the Science Centre looks amazing, however once inside I was very disappointed. There was 3 exhibits on the main floor and 3 on the second floor. The exhibits were difficult to understand (either a lot of reading or not enough instructions) and the activities weren't that exciting. For example, there was one activity where we had to listen to a phrase and then the voice was "hidden" in one of 15 or 18 speakers. You had to listen and try to identify which speaker the first voice was being projected out of.

The only issue is, there was no "correct" response and the display didn't state afterwards whether you were right or not.

I also expected bright colours, and large font on the walls to explain what you were doing and what the scientific application was. For the cost of entry and the lack of activities, the science centre was a definite let down.

Very very dissapointed in the robbery operation they call a cafeteria. $60 for four of us to eat and have a drink. 3 of whom were children. The food was awful. Ordered the kids "chicken strips" and we got an over cooked, breaded chicken breast, cut into strips. Almost $4 for a bottle of chocolate milk, and near that for the other drinks aswell. The dressing station was very bare with dried out sauces and not many kid friendly sauces. I will not be returning to the cafeteria and will be telling my friends to either pack a lunch or go to McDonalds first.

The price is a tad steep (~$20/adult, $15/child) but the exhibits are fun for many ages and the special events are great. The facilities are really nice and proximity to downtown makes it a great evening trip (adults only night, especially).

You want to go here. If you're an adult there's plenty of interesting exhibits. If you're a parent there's something here for your kids no matter their age. The regular exhibits are great, with sections designed to appeal to various ages but they also have temporary exhibits which means there's something new and fresh here on most visits. Get the annual pass and register you plate so you don't have to pay for parking when you visit. The gift shop is great with lots of fun brain gear. I've gone just to shop there when looking for that kind of gift for people that enjoy that kind of stuff. It's also a great option in the winter when it's cold outside and the kids need somewhere to burn off some energy but expect there to be some crowds on those days.

Calgary is my favourite science center. I am from Ontario and had a pass that allowed me into the Calgary and Edmonton science centers free. Out of the 3, Calgary is the best! The doom theatre is so cool!!!!

Amazing museum! The electric section has so many interactive stations, where you can even give yourself a shock by generating energy, and a giant kids playground with water tables, climbing tree house like structures, where they can use up all their energy while experimenting with measures, letters, balance and flow. The new animal dissection exhibit is something else to see, with the height of a really giraffe or tiniest organs like never before.

Was a nice science centre, we enjoyed our visit and I love the idea of the outdoor junkyard . I do however have some suggestions, for people coming in halfway through the day it would be nice if they were given some sort of compensation, a discounted rate as they aren t able to use the facility for the entire day. I also think having more staff on hand to actually interact with the kids around the exhibits would be awesome! The gift shop could use some changes as well to make it better. Overall nice place.

$5 aka Fiver Friday was a hit, wouldn t consider paying full price so this evening was on point! My boyfriend and I had an excellent night would 10/10 recommend.

Only note is make parking free, at that time of evening only people going to the event will be parking, I understand it s discounted but come on guys!

It is a pretty interesting place, and there's no lack of hands on experiments to do, but the price is pretty high. There's a kids play area to encourage learning through play, and even adult nights monthly. Pack a lunch though because that cafeteria is going to cost almost as much as getting through the door. Don't forget to check out the theatre for some really cool interactive demonstrations.

I was not impressed

I was not impressed

Went here last May to see the Human Bodies exhibit (Which in itself was wonderful and informative, 5/5), I still had some time afterwards before the center closed, so decided to check it out.

It was very lame. Hardly any of the exhibits held my attention. Little ones (5 and under) would enjoy the exhibits, but not older children, teens or adults.

It USED to be awesome. They had exhibits like a bike on a 360 degree loop, a giant bed of nails exhibit, a bungee jumping activity, etc. Why they decided to do away with this and instead embrace a format that alienates a lot of their customer base is beyond me.

This is an interesting place. It's very much fully orientated though. So a massive area of the facility is designed specifically around intriguing the young mind. I only wish that it had more to offer for adults to enjoy. The body works exhibit was fascinating for example. More of that level of science should be made available there to create a more rounded experience

I believe the cost is not affordable for most families. This should have prices so children families can come and will choose to come. I am a grandparent and $26 is very expensive. In this day and age of too much screen time and children missing hands on activities the city should promote and enhance cheaper prices to make it affordable for all. It is a beautiful educational facility.

Amazing science center with so much to do! New exhibits and special events fairly often and a great place to learn! Tons of hands on experiments and places to learn. The planetarium style theater is a must see and always fun. Might make some disorientation but there is a space to collect yourself in the theater if too bad. One problem is the food pricing... Super expensive for not too much. Bring a lunch and eat outside the cafeteria. You'll be happy you did. Or just go out for lunch or dinner after. Parking is a bit pricey at 10 dollars a car so carpool if possible. I think parking comes with a 5 dollar food voucher too. Special adult only nights as well for a great date or enjoying the science in relative peace. If you can afford it I totally recommend!

This is a great place for our 16-month-old to run around. The Creative Kids Museum is for under 9-years, and is very toddler friendly. There's a specific under-3 area with a slide, giant kalaidascopes, crawling obstacles course, and balls.

It was as if someone ate a science & technology textbook and threw it up. I was very disappointed with the disorganization and general lack of sufficient information for each of the displays. It was more of a mishmashed art exhibit rather than a science centre.
