Great place to spend an afternoon learning new things!
Great place to spend an afternoon learning new things!
I give 2 out of 5 stars because Telus Spark kicked everyone out of the auditorium after 2/5 talks at their adult only night that they did not adequately plan for.
If you have young children... just come here. Lots of activities from age 6 months to 12 years old. And of course the exhibits are amazing for adults too.
They need to staff their lunch staff a lot better waiting almost 45 minutes for our lunch and you can see them microwaving food so why would it take that long? Other than that the Science centre as a whole is fun for the whole family and ages. Perfect to take a 2 year old to.
Great family activity. Love visiting spark every time...
Fun place to take kids. Most activities are suited for the 3-10 year range, older kids might get bored. There is a play section for the really young kids. The cafe is nice and offers freshly made food. The daily movies are now included in the admission price and are quite interesting and informative.
The dome theatre was the most amazing experience. Entire venue has lots of fun and educational activities. Also enjoyed a healthy and hearty sandwich there.
A little bit of something for everyone, good food experience and dome shows.
Sparkle Sparkle was so cool! It's such a great vibe, fantastic atmosphere and so many cute things to do! Will definitely be back!
Did not want to leave!! The Sparkle Sparkle event in the Telus Spark was fun for young and old! Highly recommend!
Great place for a night out. We went on Adult Night. (Once a month with special exhibits with alcohol) Everything is interactive, and quite fun. There is also a kids area as well.
It's a resource extraction promotion centre, lots of hands on activities to but nothing like its rivals in other Canadians cities
Like the place, the permanent exhibitions though in my opinion are not giving enough science. Some nice activities though.
I was a parent volunteer on my son's field trip to Telus Spark. The behind-the-scenes tour was engaging and educational for all ages! The staff were organized, patient and kind. Great field trip!
Great fun. Wonderful whale exhibit. Good food too.
Pretty amazing stop if you have kids or even want to do something extra in calgary. Definitely alot of fun all around.
Kids had a great time with the Circus theme. A little pricey but worth the 1st time visit. Only disappointment was both my children waited for almost an hour to try the acrobatic harness lift and literally next in line that they would get on as they were closing shortly. There was an irregularity in the time given to participants in front of them from 5mins to 10mins, therefore they missed out.
I love this place. I have been multiple times and am going again in a few days. This is just such a family friendly center. There's something for absolutely EVERYONE. The kids will love it and the adults will share the same level of excitement. We took my boys for my oldests birthday and my baby was under a year. Us adults were just as sad that the day was done. And all so tired for the busy day.
Long story short, you will NOT regret visiting
Great permanent displays and the seasonal displays keep it I teresting
This is a fun place for people of all ages. However I wish there were more sensory areas for younger children to participate in. And it is a bit pricey. But we will be considering buying a yearly membership.
Great family locale and even has many activities for 3yrs and younger.
Lots of fun there's so much to do its amazing what they have there..
There is a ton of stuff to do for kids to explore science.
loads of fun for the entire family. definitely a very hands on place to play. if you're there just to look at things, you're going to blow through the place very quickly. be prepared to interact! great space for hosting large events.
Great place to take the kids to burn some energy when the weather is poor. Lots of space to run around, and exciting activities to keep them entertained. And the new outside play area is also fantastic on a nicer day!
It is not a cheap place and for that reason I was expecting more from it. I noticed a lack of personal to direct activities for the little ones. There is a lot room for improvements in a place like this, it needs just imagination or guidance from similar places around the world.
Fun place for the family or date night (Adults Only Night second Thursday every month). New pricing includes admission, entry to special exhibit, dome theatre etc. No longer need to pay-per-use for each extra. Cost is a little more, but a lot more is included!
Parking super expensive, the facility is ok, not very friendly staff or even helpful.
The biggest appeal are the events, and adult night.
Compared to the old science center, surprisingly disappointing. There is much less content of substance than I expected (by a huge margin).
If you compare it to Toronto or Vancouver, it is a joke, but that seems very unfair (although Toronto's also has less exhibits of substance than formerly). The tickets and parking are pricey, but it is still worth checking out once every few years, as things do change, on occasion.
Newish science centre. Nice play area for little kids. Very science activities for good for older kids.
Super cool! Fun exhibits. Went on adult night, it was a good time
Pricey, but the exhibits are fun.and the kids can have a good time. Rating poorly since the 'social kitchen' cafeteria concept is incredibly broken. Having to wait 20 minutes for anything to be cooked really doesn't work well for hungry kids. At least before you had the option of grabbing something hot and ready to go. Terribly confusing layout that has no signage directing people what to do, leading to chaos as people try to struggle and find where to place their order.
I appreciate the attempt for healthy and fresh food, but this implementation introduces a concept that just doesn't work for families out for a day and needing lunch.
Probably the most boring place I have ever been in my entire life, it is entirely physics exhibits and even the little kids that we saw there weren t having any type of fun. Waste of money, try a trampoline.
Really awesome place shell out for the Gold membership as there is so much to do a 1 day visit isnt enough! Plus the exhibits change all year!
The Telus Spark Centre is aptly named as it certainly sets children's minds alight with ideas and imagination. There is something for every type of learner all the time, but right now there is a really unique presentation there now; Animals. The presentation is all about the incredible bodies of animals and humans.
The variety and detail of the various animal bodies is stirring and sensational. I had never seen such a collection before and see what a special opportunity it is that this presentation is here in Calgary.
There is not just this presentation but many hands on displays to spur learning and love of learning in big and small kids.
Once you do enough learning you are sure to work up an appetite. The eating area has very good food at a good price. There is plenty of seating as well for your convenience.
The IMAX movie theater is vast and spacious. The Spirit Bear Rainforest movie is well done and the seats are comfortable.
As the Telus Spark Centre opens at 10 AM and closes at 4 PM you want to be there right at opening to have enough time to see everything.
It well worth your time and money.
Have a look at the photos and videos.
Great place to take inquisitive minds. Just be prepared to take out a small loan to go!
Very interesting saw animals experience. Not too busy made Learning fun
I was very disappointed in the 'New' science centre. The old Science centre had something for everyone whereas the new 'Telus Spark' science centre was a glorified kndergarten classroom with activities and displays geared for Kindergarten to maybe grade 2. (A small display about sexually transmitted disease appeared totally out of place and in bad taste considering the general theme of the place.) A lot of stuff did not work and the written material at displays was superficial and often technically inaccurate. I felt very ripped off by wasting a day and good money going to this.
VERY disappointing... What a waste of time and money. Whoever created this crappy place is a loser.
So much fun! From the big slide outside to the science shows inside!
Great place for kids with many engaging activities. The prices in the cafeteria were pretty steep but the food was better than average.
parking is 10$ for all day...admission was extremely expensive..24$ each for adult...Lots of kid stuff, but very little for adults, we went for the animal exhibit...It was fascinating, but very small...Spent 60$ to get in...Front desk staff are great, however will not be going back...
Great areas for different ages of kids. My kids love it!
Great for kids! In-house exhibits are relevant to Canada and understandable for the common person. Lots to touch and read and see. Lots of space too. The Circus seasonal exhibit was very interactive and fun. Cafeteria is huge and accommodates groups well. Variety of educational shows and theatre style shows is great; you could fill more than half the day doing those. However, some are scheduled where they overlap so we missed some that we wished to see, and some days they only show a movie once :(. Good gift shop too! Price is a bit high for adults.
Nice panda movie and as always os an awesome place for kids
Awesome for kids. It may be better than Zoo for the annual pass.
Really good interactive displays, it was good to just let the kids be kids and play around with everything. It's so much easier than taking them somewhere where they aren't allowed to touch anything.
An awesome science centre with lots of different exhibits. Check their website to see what's going on. Friendly staff and a large building
The outside of the structure was beautiful but on the inside, it wasn't too great.
There wasn't much really to do. Not that many exhibits to explore and some of the stuff was broken. I got bored.
In the advertisements, it makes this place sound like a lot of fun but when you go in, it really isn't. Talk about false advertising.
The food in the cafeteria was great! It was a bit crowded but that's normal.
The price to get in was overpriced, especially if the place doesn't have much in it.
Overall, I don't recommend going here.
Best indoor place to visit in calgary with friends n kids.
The kid's area was a HUGE hit. There was too much to see in the time we had, which was 3 hours.
