It's a Waste of money and time going here. The place seems to spend more time entertaining small children than teaching actual science and even the kids seemed bored. This place really disappointed and compaired to the old Science centre which was more geared toward families and people of all ages it simply doesn't live up to the legacy. The only thing that can be praised is that the building itself looks nice and is really open on the inside.

All we did is stand in lineups across and out the building. Not impressed.... won't go back.

describe your experience: it was the worst experience what a waist of space the dame building is huge and there is F-all in there what there was in the building was some stupid stands with rundown in some cases broken crap. come on spark what the hell is this. i suggest no one go there its a waist of time and money $52+tax i want that back and paying for parking...

They have stripped 90% of the exhibits of the "science" and only left crafts and puzzles that have a vague connection to science. The few things that are "scientific" could've been done a lot better if they just watched Bill Nye and copied his experiments.

The old science center was considerably better....I guess this would be a good place to leave children between the ages of 2-8.... But there's the zoo next door which lets you look at animals.

Really nice range of exhibits, enthusiastic staff, and the special attractions during adults night are always worth a repeat visit.

Only 4 stars though because if it isn't an adult night with special programming, once you've seen it, you've seen it.

Pretty cool place, saw the animal version of Body Worlds on the Thursday adult night right before Valentine's Day, totally recommend adult night over regular admissions. Drinks were available (not in the exhibit, cash only) cafe was closed for Valentine's dinner. Cool shop to buy science stuff. Lots of hands on fun stuff to do. Parking was super busy, $4 for all night. The exhibit was very busy but you could get close up to everything. Pictures ok. The hands on areas were not as busy. Will be curious to see what other exhibits will be coming through.

Just came here about a month ago and its my first time to be here in this place with my folks. I have to say it's very well built and the education in this place has a strong message. Not to mention the arts and crafts you can make and learn how technology can really work each and every time. To those who seek a family out going event or go some where for education and fun times. I recommend this place to bring young minds to learn of science and technology and its history ^^

We spent our Easter Sunday there yesterday and had an awesome time!

We had a surprise visit from the Telus Spark Easter Bunny handing cute Easter eggs on our way out from the cafeteria.

So many fun activities for kids to do and get their hands on experience! Other than the regular science activities we enjoyed the Circus theme too. One of the highlight of our visit was the Toy Workshop where my kids get to fix and sew stuffies. Kids got creative. Stuff toys with missing parts or ripped got patched with some colorful mix-match parts.

The tall climbing tower outside the building that both kids and adults can climb with the big slide was fun too. Plus the beautiful sunshine yesterday was an added bonus while we played with other playground equipments.

Going back in the inside was another playground geared towards younger and smaller children. Water table that entertained my kids for hours, more musical experiments and other activity stations the fun goes on. We miss out on other activities, entertainments, the Panda and Nature movies but there's always another time we can go back.

Thank you so much Telus Spark for this amazing place we can come and visit. Until next time

Such a disappointing science center. The layout is bad, the exhibits have no depth or creatively and haven't changed in years. The best part by far is the playground outside and even there they can't do it right. I've had experience with the management and programming staff several times and the entire place is so poorly run its amazing they can attract special events at all. If you're visiting Calgary and looking for something to do, give the science center a hard pass. And if you don't have kids don't even try to go any time other than adults night!

Great place to spend the day with your kids. Lots of hands on activities for the kids from learning and experimenting to arts and crafts. Fun little science demos for the kids in the main hall too.

The dome shows can be hit or miss.

The staff here are great and they do a good job of keeping the place clean.

It's alright, with some interesting exhibits, but it's extremely expensive and to be honest, the quality of the exhibits doesn't really support the high cost of entry.

The zoo, right next door, is both cheaper and a better family destination.

Great place for people of all ages

New exhibits pop up all the time, there is a cool dome theater, a wonderful smaller kids jungle gym area and so many interesting things to try.

We go here a lot. It's always a lot of fun to see how things have changed, to climb the things you climb, turn the things you turn, run on the thing that makes lights go on, and use lights to make music.

This time, there was copper pipe, and solder and a wicked awesome blowtorch (of science). Also, beautiful weather for the Brainasium.

I've to say that I'm a huge fan of Science centers and have visited quite a few in the last few decades. Telus spark, in spite of its excellent reviews, was just average except for the Fire Show (which was amazing)

First of all, there weren't anything that caught your attention immediately. Everything was just the routine things like pulleys and chain reactions. There were a lot of kids but no one to explain to them what was the underlying working principles.

The dome theatre was another hype. Just a simple video about robots but player on a curved screen.

Check out their Adult Only Nights, with a cash bar and a theme to all of the temporary exhibits in the main foyer - plus a chance to see everything else, and even play around on the playground!

Great place for learning.

Great place for learning.
Great place to hang out with friends.
Great place for a date.
Great place for kids.
Great place to have fun.
It was too pricey for me but the experience was worth it. I will definitely go back.

I was hungry upon arrival but because there so many things to see and do I've forgotten all about my hunger hahahaha. 2 hours wasn't enough to experience the whole place, so if you plan to visit it, make sure you have at least 4 hours for the whole thing.

Good place for kids to explore!

A number of activity tables required minor fixing, cleaning or restocking. :(

Pretty disappointing and a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Perhaps if they filled in the big empty void in the middle of the building with, oh I don't know, exhibits? I thought it would have a lot more than tablets mounted into tables with lame apps. The Space and Science centre still kicks it's butt. Edmonton has exhibits that teach about Space. Calgary just has space.
Not worth the price of admission.

Great experience. Not sure why all the bad ratings. Lots of exhibits, The kids were entertained, even the adults had fun and learned something. The Hovercraft races were fun, and the fire tornado demo was interesting. Only complaint was that it is a bit expensive for a family outing, $72 for four of us.

Honestly it's a very nice science museum and I think it's a great place to take kids since so much of it is interactive. As an adult with out kids I do enjoy the occasional exhibition but after going through the main exhibits once theres not much reason to go again for me personally. Also I do suggest taking a lunch if you plan on eating there. The food is good but very expensive.

The range of activities and interactive displays is truly amazing. My kids are always pumped after a visit to to the "Science Centre". However, make sure you are aware of the following: It is an expensive day out; the weekday opening hours are limited - we got caught out by the 4.00pm closing time (although to be fair, it IS clear from their website. I just didn't look); parking is $10 regardless of duration (what is it with gouging drivers for parking fees EVERYWHERE in Calgary?), Although you get $5 of it back when you buy your ticket. Overall, an infrequent treat for the kids but the zoo offers better value.

visited for the Valentine's Day Adult only night, cost was $85 each there was not enough seats for tickets sold. Hot food was cold, food that should be cold was warm. Overall bad experience, the additional money paid for food was of little value. The attractions and exhibits were fun place was extremely busy. I witnessed someone run in to a parked car and reported the license plate to the front desk and they did nothing about it. I expected to hear the plate number over the p.a. but they only wrote the info down on a piece of scrap paper.

Family loved it was worth the drive from Edmonton. Only downside is paid parking, 10 bucks, plus admission and snacks of course. Thankfully our membership in Edmonton is valid here. Will be back for sure. Kids loved the interactive exhibits and the freedom of the junkyard.

When we went there was no special exhibition. We enjoyed some of the main floor activities especially the little flowing river with Sand toplay with.

The price is ridiculous for what you get. First you have to pay for parking. Then the price for both kids and adults is higher than anything we have ever done in the city before.

We do a lot of playing and creating at home so the second floor had a lot that wasnt new. Some things weren't working and again we were left wondering what we payed for.

It has a very concrete prison feeling both inside and out.

Remember that daycare scene from Toy Story 3 where all the kids were nuts and everything was covered in snot? Yeah, this is the real life version. In all seriousness, this is essentially a very expensive kids playground. I went in thinking that it was going to be somewhat similar to the one in Edmonton (which caters to both kids and adults), but it is nothing like it. The exhibitions are not at all interesting, it is dirty and boring, and the movie that was played in the dome must have been from the 80s. I just wasted $26 today. To be fair, if you're a parent who wants to let your kids roam wild so they tire out, this is probably the place for you.

2 floors, 5 rooms with exhibits. Very little stuff to do considering the price. The dome theatre was disappointing. Was essentially a video projected on half a sphere, creating warped and distorted images. Perhaps wouldve been a great time for a lower price but it offered very little return for the egregious fee. I doubt we'll be going back without some major improvement to this place. Recommend a YouTube video and buy some relevant educational materials to go with it. Save yourself the utter disappointment that my kid felt after seeing this sad cash grab masquerading as a science centre

Clean. Adult night was boring. Nothing changed except they add a bar in the middle of the hallway. Absolutely no gluten free options available in the cafeteria. Would be a good place for kids though

As the food, well my husband is Celiac and I had contacted Telus Spark about what would be available. Needless to say, there was nothing on offer hot meal wise that was GF. He ended up with a fruit cup. Not much fun when you were there to celebrate a 60th birthdays. Don't think I would want to go again. To be honest I didn't want to even give a 1 star but it wont let me do it with out. :(

LOVE IT!! The Science Center is so hands on and geared for kids and adults alike. It is completely discoverly and play based, and I honestly do not have any idea how people can say it is not science based...It is not like the zoo or an amusement park where you just look or get on a ride, you are in charge of the learning that takes place.

I went with my nephew today and had fun learning and teaching him through all exhibits, and playing a little myself. If you take the time and carefully go through all they have to offer I cant imagine how you can say it is a waste of time or money. We left after 5 hours today, and we could have stayed and played longer. There is so much to experience. I guess it is what you make of it.

The family really likes the Spark Center. Lots for the kids to do and plenty of learning opportunities. Some of the activity stations need to be updated. It is unfortunate that over time, many of the materials get lost and never seem to be replaced. We have been going to the Science Center for years, and there is less and less for the kids to engage with.
I still give a good review only because the kids still enjoy their time there.

We've been there a few times. A great place for kids, it is amazing the way they manage to integrate fun with edjucation.
Just comes to show that gaining knowing can be a lot of fun (provides that you have the funds to make it that way).
Which brings me to the next point, it is expensive.
There is a food place inside which is great I'd you are into the new generation of allergic to everything, but they don't have anything normal really, so make sure you bring a sandwich.
