Worked with them on a dozen or so tech assignments back in the day. Went to the Chicago office a few times place was clean. Staff was ok lots of turn around with recruiters. Most everyone was under 30 it seemed. Paychecks seem to come on time. Did many migrations and tech support for them at major firms. Even referred a friend who also did a lot of work. At least now they don't throw your pay checks over the balcony to make you catch the paychecks. I had to keep chasing them for the next gig. It was like I was bothering them just get get more work. I need to eat too. Is that not thier job ? Do they not make thier money by hiring us out ? I tried to do it in less intrusive emails. You need to check in every 2-4 weeks to let them know your alive and available else they forget you. Like all contracting work recruiters either quit (some within weeks) or some times but rarely get promoted. After my last assignment was over, a different (young 20's just out of college) recruiter would call or email me about every year asking about what jobs I like to do. Never heard back from any. Turns out one worked for a few months but didn't like to answer emails ever as I tried to connect with him about jobs. Think I had about 5-8 recruiter get assigned to me in 5-6 years. This happend for a few years, then I just stop responding / wasting my time and it's been quiet since. Worked for about 3-4 years and no one remembers me.
Maybe a bad experience with one recruiter, maybe it's a "corporate culture" of TEKsystems. Who knows. I'm an experienced professional, I've been on both sides of the interview table many times. The specific recruiter from TEKsystems who reached out to me was unprofessional and rude. His job is to build rapport with me, not attempt to assert his superiority. Hopefully our paths never cross again.
This company is horrible please do not depend on a job from them at all. You will be forgot about and LEFT in the dirt I`m not sure if its the color of the skin OR what but they really are horrible. One of the recruiters met with me to gossip about why I wasn't working with another recruiter. They was mad I filed unemployment and lied on me I WILL NEVER EVER WORK WITH THEM AGAIN.
ayffgfghhhh g
Talked with a recruiter in Chicago office that was trying to steer me to a low paying entry level IT job after saying my MANY years of experience didn't matter after having an unavoidable gap of close to a year in work experience. It seems they are just trying to steer people into jobs they have w/o really working with people to find a job that is right for them. Also I could tell a template was used in response to an email because details didn't fit our conversation. Definitely can't recommend them!
