Great Food & Excellent Service in a Warm & Friendly Environment.
Absolutely love this restaurant. I have never had a bad meal here. Its always fantastic, tasty, and fresh. The variety is good as well. Great Brunch on Sunday mornings!!!
Love this place. Delicious food every time and a very quaint atmosphere. I'll keep coming back!
Small portions for elevated prices. Had the fish and chips, 2 small pcs of cod and a hand full of fries for $16 and the cod was nothing special. Won't be back.
I almost hate to give this restaurant a great review as I don t want it to become too crowded. On our recent visit, our table had 4 great dinners. The chicken and waffles was delicious as was the peachy chicken sandwich. Too many good choices. Good service, too.
The chicken and waffles was almost as awesome as our server Katie! What a gem! We come every year for girls weekend dinner and this year did not disappoint!!! Thank you Tavern 109 for a wonderful meal! We ll be back next year for our chicken and waffles!
Best burgers. Beer cold & service good. A bit pricey.
Great atmosphere, mediocre food, pricey, friendly wait staff
Wonderful atmosphere. Love the exposed brick, menu is casual but classy. Service is always friendly.
Food was AMAZING! Try the baked brie with onion and fig chutney. Cubano and Blue Bird sandwiches were spot on. Service was top-notched.
Really kind waitress with nice food. Recommend pizza and rice dishes. Bread of Sandwiches are somewhat hard and dry but ingredients are good.
Absolutely love this place! Food and drinks are fabulous!
Food was good, service a little bit slow but more concerning were the plastic menus and overused plastic credit card folio neither of which appeared to be sanitized. But must concerning was the bearded cook who worked (visibly laughing and talking) consistently the entire we were there without any face covering whatsoever. Nothing to stop facial hairs or prevent covid transmissions. We won't be back to this restaraunt with such a causal attitude to the current covid epidemic.
Food was excellent! Went for lunch so didn't have any drinks. A bit on the expensive side for lunch but it was worth it.
The food was great. It's a very cool restaurant. The only issue is it becomes too loud and carrying a conversation becomes difficult.
Tavern 109 in Williamston, a fashionable bijou town a few miles from Michigan State University's social hub in East Lansing, is a great place for an afternoon drive into the countryside and a stop for lunch or dinner. Reasonably priced menu and well prepared dishes make this an easy choice for casual dining in a spacious environment. Street parking.
A true gem! Found this place by accident and was wonderfully surprised. Everything from the appetizer to the desert was creative and Incredibly delicious. It's a little pricey, but worth every cent. I highly recommend it! If for no other reason the incredibly interesting thing they do to apple pie.
Love the decor and vibe. Had some great food too. This is a hidden gem. Worth a drive from Lansing.
Great craft beer and food. The employees are very friendly. Great atmosphere.
Our first time at Tavern and the food was supburb but the Bread Pudding was out of this world! We will be back to try the Strawberry Shortcake and Peanut Butter pie after our meal. Yummy food and fantastic athamophere made it such a pleasurable dining experience.
Good menu. Wide variety of options. Infused house liquor. Great beer on tap. Try the chicken and waffles, best in mid Michigan.
Three of the things I wanted to order were not available. This might be ok at 10 pm on a busy Friday but not at 6. Service was good.
They put us in a corner because of our child, and didnt offer a kids menu. The kids menu did not have child friendly options, and the seating made Kenzi restless. We also had to wait an obnoxious amount of time for our food.
Been here twice. Great food and service both times.
Giving 4 stars may be a little nice. The food and service were both slightly above average. Prices were average, I thought portions were a little small (especially the spinach dip) but not too bad. Plus entrees come with soup or salad which helps. Overall it was fine, I'd go again, but it was nothing to write home about.
LOVED Tavern 109, but I should point out that I didn't try the food on this visit, only stopped by for drinks. But I was very drawn to the vibe of the place..as you can see in the photos, had a sort of roaring-20's feel...the industrial look to some extent, which is very in vogue currently, but it felt genuine for the building and the town. I had a white wine flight, my friend tried the red wine flight, whereas our partners opted for cocktails. Presentation was lovely, and I could have sat in that environment all night. I will definitely go back to try the food.
We went here on a Friday night. They were busy but not overwhelmed. We were seated quickly. We got the Brie the bread was over toasted. We ordered the kraken blue burger. Delicious! The best part of the experience was desert. Peanut butter pie and a coffee. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I would come here again. Highly recommend..
Spirits, Craft Beers, Burgers and Pizzas are awesome but stay away from the pricey entrees as they are average at best and not worth the higher prices. However this is a fabulous place to go for drinks and higher end burgers and pizzas.
Filet was over cooked, but other food was great! Truffle chips are amazing!
Staff is well trained and food is delicious.I had the olive burger, yummmm.
Lovely place with stellar food. Didn't see anything I wanted on the menu and they created a wonderful entree with everything I was in the mood for when I asked for it. Great service, delicious food and fun drinks. Definitely would recommend coming here.
Very good pizza. Prices are a little higher than they should be, but the food is delicious all of the time!! Love the atmosphere.
I went to the tavern for a quiet lunch by myself. I was seated next to the managers office/closet. The entire experience was overwhelmed by the staff conferencing and walking back and forth to this closet that they could not fit into. I would have enjoyed it better if I would have been included in the scheduling and other babble I felt compelled to try to listen to.
A couple lunching next to me thought their waitress forgot about them and my wait service also spent significant time in deep discussion with other staff unaware of how bored I was getting.
I also have to share that a couple days earlier I brought two employees with me for lunch. It ended abruptly with a big black ant on one of their sandwiches. I was embarrassed for having bragged about the food on the drive there.
In summary, the manager needs to focus on the basics of 5 star experience.
We WERE fans of tavern 109. It WAS our go to spot. They have amazing servers that we have always enjoyed and the food USED to be very good. They have hired a new chef and since then our food has been not been to par. It's described deliciously on the menu and then you receive it and it is very bland and some dishes I had to deem uneatable. Sadly they have putt such a bad flavor in my mouth that I won't go there anymore unless it's to enjoy a cocktail.
Please hire your old chef back!!!!
Do: get the rustic chips with garlic aoli. Great flavor and value.
Do not: get the guacamole and chips. Despite being freshly made, it has virtually no flavor whatsoever.
Absolutely do not: try the olive veggie burger. It's too salty to be edible. It actually tastes like meat-flavored salt. That's not an overstatement.
I hate giving such few stars to what appears to be a nice place. But for the prices and atmosphere, expectations were set quite high and not met by a long shot.
The food was delicious. The menu is very creative. I love the atmosphere. The food took a long time despite being empty at lunch time.
Disappointed last night after driving an hour to meet a dear friend who had gone in early to get a table...to only be rushed through a drink and a cup of soup because come to find out they sat us at a reserved table! No one told my friend the table was reserved at 6:30. I don t know if I will ever go back! They should have at least offered to comp some of our bill, my friend didn t even get to finish her $10 glass if wine!
We picked this place for our anniversary and it was a place we have never been before. We are driving home very disappointed and not satisfied. Our appetizer we picked was the guacamole and pico de gallo. Both seemed like they were made for the weekend crowd Friday night and served to us on a Tuesday. Several stale chips and browned guac and mushy tomatoes. Our entrees were filet mignon and sirloin steaks. 10 oz sirloin was more like a 4 oz with no flavor and lots of grillzle and very greasy. Filet was dry even though it was cooked medium with no flavor. Vegan chili was decent, nice spice to it. Side salad was good. Service was slow. Flight of wine was a nice pick for $10, that was good deal. However overall bill was far too high for the quality and presentation of the food. They did finally at the end adddress our experience and we commented about the appetizer seeming old and not able to eat it. They did deduct that from our bill. We have no plans of returning.
Stopped in for lunch one day and it was excellent! Some of the best fries I've ever had. Seems like a place that would be packed Friday/Saturday nights!
Great atmosphere a little pricey but great food and service.
Great food and excellent service. I had a couple of dishes here and have been very pleased with both of them. They have a great selection of beer on tap too! If you're in the area definitely stop in and give them a try!
Excellent food and great staff. Enjoyed our meal there
Unique and tasty food! Cool atmosphere and very friendly service!
Kinda pricey. 10 bucks for a bloody seems pretty crazy to me. Foods not bad I've just never been blown away by it.
Great bar and restaurant in Williamston (a suburb of Lansing, Michigan).
Wow! Awesome food, beer and service. We will be back next time we travel from GR to Detroit!
The food was tasty; the service was painfully slow. They didn't appear super busy, but everything from getting a menu on took a LONG time.
Great food. Service could have been a little better. Had to ask twice for coffee refills. Nice atmosphere.
Delicious food but overpriced with tiny portions. I essentially paid $20 for a bowl of macaroni and cheese with maybe an eighth of a cup of shredded pork. I feel a little ripped off and probably won't be returning.
Well I can't say nothing about this place I've never been there. I give 4 stares because I no other friends that has and they say good things.
Awesome atmosphere for date night. Great beer selection. Food was good, not great but we had a great time
Expensive. Expect to spend between $15 and $20 per person. but the food is incredible. Fried chicken with warm, buttery breading, and specialty pizzas with combinations you would never think could work until you've tried them. Excellent dinner service, Lunch I've heard is worse, but not from experience.
Great service, great food and totally safe presentation
Delicious food/drinks, friendly and accommodating staff, and nice atmosphere.
Love this place, especially shrimp and grits and gluten choices.
The food is amazing, the staff is amazing! This is the place I take people from out of town when they come to visit, and they all love it!
I'm not one to try new foods, but I am so glad I came here! Most of the menu is made of healthier alternatives or organic produce. They have a large drink selection also. I had the salad with steak (forgot the fancy name haha) and was skeptical but it literally was the best salad I've had in my life! Can't wait to go back and try other unique options! :]
The pear pizza was overly sweet, otherwise seems like a cute place
Terrible service, could not get the food I wanted because it was not 2 o'clock yet but there was no where on the menu saying anything about a time restriction.
