The bad:

The swine and mac was entirely too sweet. I don't know if it was the BBQ sauce, the candied bacon, or both. I couldn't even taste the advertised chipotle. (Edit: I tried to salvage my leftovers by picking out the candied bacon. That helped a lot. Still couldn't taste the chipotle at all. Replacing the candied bacon with regular bacon and adding chipotle to cut the sweetness of the BBQ sauce would fix the dish.)

The custard in the creme brulee was curdled.

The good:

The cocktails were good.

The spinach artichoke dip was great.

The pear and sweet potato pizza was delicious.

It s the perfect spot for any occasion. Graduation, date night, watching the game, girls brunch! The list goes on! Love the atmosphere and the food is to die for.

This latest visit, the food was spot-on and the service was terrific - paced almost slowly enough to suit me, but definitely on the American paradigm of a timed rush from order to entree at the table. I've had many versions of truffle fries, but none better than their lightly breaded version with full parmesan shavings. The calamari was very tender, and the accompanying salad/sauce a delightfully refreshing counterpoint. It's more cramped than I would like and the growlers outrageously expensive, so I can't quite give it full marks, but it's my first choice for high-end eating in the area.

This place has gone way downhill. Mediocre food for ridiculous prices. Service is usually good though.

Food was very good. Had a little bit of a delay getting some service but wait staff was apologetic and did their best to make up for it. Would definitely recommend

Rip off!!! First time customer, just picked up my carry out order, swine mac and cheese, this would barely be a snack for my 7 yr old. $14 for maybe 10 bites of food. Never going back.

Not the most comfortable space. Food is good to average. Prices $$ to $$$. The bar qrea is a much better space.

Not bad. The bacon is great and the salads are fantastic.

Awesome staff. Great beer on tap. Don't miss the garlic shrimp and muscles. The sauce on the garlic toast will make your day.

Great bar and restaurant in a small downtown. Great food and drink selections and the bar has a unique character for the small town of Williamston. This was my go to place when I wanted a good dinner and atmosphere when I lived in Williamston.

Great place to grab a beer or take the family out for dinner. I really like the energetic atmosphere they provide.

I went to Tavern 109 today for my birthday. I waited 30 minutes after being seated to even get a water and another hour for my food to arrive. Because of this I asked to speak to a manager just to voice my concerns and the manager was extremely rude and thanked me for my input and walked away. Instead of asking if there was anything they could do ON MY BIRTHDAY they were rude and disrespectful. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Over priced, pretentious. Just a small-town bar trying to be a snooty restaurant. They aren't even mediocre. Very ignorant staff. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere

Rather slow service, decent food and great decor, but the waiter seemed rather inexperienced

We tried the gluten free cauliflower pizza crusts and they were great! Cooked perfectly, very crispy thin crusts that I couldn't even believe we're cauliflower. The pizza toppings were amazing. We got both the pear and the sweet potato varieties. They were both delicious but the pear won out with a great balance of sweet and savory (sweet potato was a tad on the sweet side). But will totally be coming back and trying the rest of the menu as they all sounded amazing.

Pear pizza is amazing! We even order it to go sometimes on the way home from work. It's a must try item! The potato chips made with truffle salt are supreme as well.

Nice menu. Chicken and waffles was great. Interesting assortment of cocktails offered. Was asked to leave our table (had just finished desert) because of a reservation they made we were unaware of. We were shocked a little over that. Just get up and leave please!!!

Good chef-inspired menu. Great table service in dining and in high-top sports bar side. Good mixed drinks.

Ordered a club and cuppa soup.... soup was good but I'm not to keen on ants on my sandwich. Waitress was wonderful but I definitely will never come back to this place.

My wife and I regularly join friends here for a fun meal. Love the food and relaxed feel. The beer selection is excellent. It can get a bit noisy.

Tavern 109 is one of my top 5 mid-Michigan. It's on the main street (Grand River) in Williamston, bu parking is still easy with several options. They make great tavern food like burgers, fish and chips, etc. There are also more complex options that far exceed the quality you might expect from a tavern style restaurant. Sunday brunch is also worth enjoying.

Truly one of the gems in the Lansing area. Great atmosphere. Doesn't try to do too much, but the food is still a cut above.

In light of several wonderful establishments in Williamston, Tavern is on the bottom of the list now. When we first moved to town in 2013, we fell in love with the Tavern, especially Tekla as our bartender.
Overpriced sub par dishes + irritated preoccupied servers = never going back. How many times do you have to ask for silverware, napkins, salt and pepper, you know, the standard restaurant staples, while sitting at the bar and watching the unprofessional bartender TEXTING!!!

Now I read about insensitivity to over genderized coloring sheets??? Is it 2017 at the Tavern 109? Catch up!!

We went here for our anniversary and the waitress was so wonderful. They went above and beyond to make us feel special. The food was so great and it wasn't crazy expensive. The staff was wonderful.

My husband and I visited for the first time and had a wonderful experience! Delicious food and friendly service. Our server suggested the twisted apple pie for dessert and it was one of the best desserts we ve had in a long time!

Can be a little pricey, but all of their food tastes amazing when made correctly. Definitely one of the best food options in the area!

Had the Peachy Bird and it was very good as well as the service. The bartender who's name was Natalie I believe, did a superb job at keeping the customers happy, not to mention steering me in the direction of a delicious desert.
I will definitely be back.

So glad 109 is back open. Same nice atmosphere and service and food is still a great find in Williamston. 1st night back since reopening and it felt like coming home! Great place for drinks, food and friends.

What an awesome little place in my second home town. The waitress was excellent and had great customer service skills. The drinks were good the prices are a little high but nothing I wouldn't had expected from a place in the Williamston area.

Walked in back door to the front at the hostess station. Not a person acknowledged me nor my husband. 2 hosts... nothing. Open seating as well. Walked right back out. Never again.

Good food especially the burgers. Service had always been good too. Make sure you get the peanut butter pie.

Beer was cold, food was hot, if that's all your looking for I guess this place was ok. If you are looking for anything more, like the waitress to ask if you would like another beer or to get your food within an hour, go somewhere else.

I have driven past this restaurant multiple times and was always intrigued. Finally, my boyfriend and I decided to give it a shot and as soon as we walked in we knew it was going to be good, Just the smell of the restaurant was awesome. And the food was better then we expected. Everything that we ordered was delicious. Definitely recommend this place and will be going back again!

Food was absolutely phenomenal, and the hand made cocktails are delicious. Waitstaff is fast and friendly. We will be back regularly!
