I love the space and the atmosphere. Easily on of the most pleasant places to spend an hour browsing in Denver.
However, I was surprised on my last visit to find exactly ZERO of the books I was looking for. Yes, I could order them, but then I have many options, which kind of defeats the purpose of a nice place like Tattered Cover.
Spacious bookstore with thoughtful notes on the shelves. The staff are all so friendly! Great location too!
As always, excellent books and atmosphere. Can sit and read like a library. But buy a book !

I have come here since I was a child. Not only does it have the strong pull of nostalgia but, it also has a wonderful atmosphere. If you are any kind of reader do please peruse the shelves here you will not leave without finding something.
The bookstore has a huge selection of books with an easy-to-understand organization system. The staff were friendly. It's nice to patronize a local business that supports local artists.
The cafe is also nice. The barista is knowledgeable and helpful. Our drinks (Cafe au lait and a Mixed Berry smoothie) were delicious.
I hadn't been in a real bookstore in awhile. When with a mask on you couldn't forget the great smell of a bookstore.
We especially liked the used book section.
Honestly, we used to love this place but I'm pretty disappointed they no longer let patrons use their restrooms. I get it, COVID is a major concern and we mask up everywhere but I have three small kids and not having a bathroom rules out a store entirely. Beyond that, they don't tell you when you walk in so you only find out when it actually matters.
That might be a small deal normally but there are few stores on this stretch of downtown and frankly, closing bathroom's isn't a city requirement. In other words, they've just decided to remove the option for patrons. Unfortunately, we can't go back now until this pandemic is over and frankly, it makes me not really want to.
Just feels like a place you can hang out. Always helpful staff, huge selection, places to hang out, and I love the handwritten notes about preferred books. Has a cafe as well with coffee, tea, drinks, and snacks.
First of all........WOW. First bookstore I ve ever been to that had everything on my list. Beautiful facility in the wonderful Colfax area, helpful and informative staff. And coffee, I mean, cmon who doesn t want some of that heavenly bean juice. WOW. Highly recommended!
