I had a really positive experience while at the Tarrytown Hall Care Center. I was here for Rehab and my therapists were great especially Rebecca and Jill, they helped me so much! The food was great and the staff was friendly. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who needs rehabilitation.
I chose to live here and I really like it. I have a nice roomate and amany residents are nice. I really like the food as well.
Well managed and organized facility. I highly reccomend.
I am Spanish speaking and I love how some of the staff speak Spanish. I have me made strong connections here. I like how I am taken care of by the staff. I love Gabi and Lexi on the activities staff. I also like the Physical Therapy staff as they are helping me walk with a walker.
The staff at Tarrytown has gone above and beyond . I cannot say enough good things about everyone from the front desk down to the CNA's . If you need a wonderful nursing home for your loved one this is the one to choose
I'm hoping to get stronger and feel better soon. The nurses are so nice. The physical therapists are helping me to work on my goals to get stronger and better.
If your looking for a friendly, resident centered facility, Tarrytown Hall is the way to go!
I loved this place since day one! People respect me and treat me like a human being. The CNA's have been very very kind. I am in Physical Therapy and the therapists have been helping me get stronger and know just how much I can handle. The Recreation staff has been great too!
The staff here are very nice to me. I am here for short term rehab. I'm getting better and I like the rehab staff they're really helping me. I have also met some nice people who are staying here
My career in long term care spans 28 years. I am so honored and proud to be part of a team that exudes compassion, empowerment and love. Our residents are so special and we all work hard to provide excellent care.
This home was very special. Not many homes that have this care and sensitivity
Went to go visit an old family friend. The nurses were nice and helpful in the clean home. Everyone working and living had such posotive energy!
I moved here a year ago because I broke my hip and had surgery. I went to two places before I transferred here where I wasn't well taken care of, but since I moved here I finally am..The staff keeps you clean, dry and safe. My favorite staff member is Ms. Gerald.I like tthe exercises the Physical Therapists give me to do. I would recommend anyone who needs rehab to come to Tarrytown Hall Care Center.
I live at Tarrytown Hall Care Center. The staff are very nice especially my nurse Mandy. I have a friend that I made on the third floor. She is from Santa Domingo and I am from Puerto Rico. It's nice to have friends. In the past I had physical therapy and I really liked it.
I came here for short term rehab. My favorite staff members are my nurses Gladys, Frazier an Anthony. My Physical Therapist Naura and my Occupational Therapist Bridget havae helped me regain a lot of usage of my leg. Every morning I will miss the smile of our Administrator Neil. I have made a lot of friends here and I've enjoyed the company while I was healing.
I'm here for short term rehab. Some of my nurses are excellent. I'm really happy when Marvin is here because he takes such good care of me , is gentle and treats me with respect.
I came to live at Tarrytown Hall Care Center January 12, 2002 after a near fatal car accident that I was told I wouldn't survive because of my injuries and they diagnosed me deaf, blind and mentally retarded. Since coming to the facility I've improved so much. I no longer have a feeding tube, tracheotomy or catheter. I am alert and have regained full cognitive functioning. The reason I like living here is because the staff encourages you to do better and it works because they make you feel good about yourself. I even became the Vice President of the Resident Council. I am very grateful to be here and the therapy is wonderful.
After attending a CEU event this week, I felt compelled to extol the virtues of the Tarrytown Hall Care Center . The grounds were pristine. The management was professional, attentive and caring. I would rate this residence greater than five stars were it allowed. I would highly recommend Tarrytown Hall Care Center to whomever inquired. Thank you!
I am here for Rehab. I really like my Physical Therapists. They are helping me get better and stronger every day.The staff are good to me and they treat me well.
Very happy with the staff in the rehab department. Very professional and attentive.
I have close friends that have loved ones at this facility and am happy to see that a proactive approach to care is being put into place recently at the center, with new administration idoing an overhaul of operations.
The food is great, staff are very nice and I felt very welcome here, the nursing staff and rehab staff took very good care of me and I was happy here. I will miss it but I am happy to return home.
I like the staff. I am treated with dignity and respect. The food is really good.
I am very grateful for my care. Jill the speech therapist has really helped me with my speech. I am happy I have a place to recover and am treated well. The staff gives me motivation to get better and again I am so grateful.
Horrible care. The food is inedible it is unfit for an animal! Place is a nightmare from Hell
I was here for short term rehad and they staff were kind and treated me very well, especially my therapists. I would highly recommend this facilty.
This facility needs a serious OVERHALL from top to bottom. Professional training for all the staff among that over hall.
I just found out that their Administrator resigned last week .
I can just wonder. What is wrong with the Ownership ? at this facility.
Clothing is been stolen from patients rooms. and no one does anything, everybody blame each other, they make believe family members one thing but they do the opposite or do nothing to fix the problems.
I seen taller patients wearing small clothing, that clearly does not belong to them in the first place.
I seen staff members treat an elderly patient in a raff manner, not appropriate.
I would like family members to get together and stand for once for their love ones in this facility.
I WOULD LIKE THE FACILITY OWNERS TO STOP FILLING UP THEIR POCKET WITH THIS OLD PEOPLES MONEY AND DO MORE FOR THEM, THEY HAVE EARN THE WRIGHT TO BE TREATED WITH RESPECT . PEOPLE NEED TO STAND UP ON THIS MATTER AND DO SOMETHING NOW.
THIS NEEDS TO STOP NOW
I am extremely happy about the renovations and the new lobby. People here are commendable. The Administrator, Neil Eisikowitz is quick on his feet, easy to speak to and he gets the job done.Jennifer Mazzetti gets the crew quickly on their toes, they listen to her and she quickly gains the respect of her coworkers. Ivan Busto is always there for you and goes out of his way to get things for you. He is now head of Dietary and Housekeeping, that really says something! Raquel Cummings is cheerful, funny and keeps you on your toes. A lot of the nurses and staff on the first floor are good. All of the Physical Therapy staff are very accommodating. Activities are great and they do your nails. Lexi is so fun and even brings you coffee. Mary, the social worker is always on her feet. Fidela is very helpful and great on transport trips. The housekeeping staff in general are all very good. The floors are always shining. The new furniture in the lobby is comfortable and attractive. The windows are perfect because they are the perfect height. Frazier is friendly and extremely helpful, knowledgeable and just an all around nice guy. Outside workers, such as elevator repairmen are very respectful to the patients. Jackie Royster the nurse is hysterically funny and quickly becomes a good friend. Dr. Hillman, Dr. Spurz and Dr. Goldstein keep us safe and healthy. Dr. Hillman is compassionate and is an excellent practitioner. The patients are so glad when he is around.
II came to Tarrytown Hall Care Center four years ago. I get along well with the staff and have some friends who are residents.I can't name my favorite staff member because there are plenty to choose from. If I had to choose any long term care facility to live, I would definitely choose here.
I came to the Tarrytown Hall Care Center for Physical Therapy following a knee surgery. I liked the food, staff and the care. I really like my Physical Therapist because they helped me get better.
Disgusting!! Absolutely terrible care given, I'm sorry NO care given! This place should be closed down!!! It's dirty and smells like cat urine! The workers are lazy and incompetent. They have no regard for each individuals need! They walk around sick with no masks or gloves and my mother ended up in the hospital sick in horrible condition as a direct result of neglect from this center!! I wouldn't send a loved one back there if the center paid me! DISGUSTING!!!!!!
The staff treats me very well.I am here for short term rehab and it's really helping me. My favorite person is Angel my physical therapist. If I had a friend or family member who needed rehab, I would recommend them to come to the Tarrytown Hall Care Center.
I have been working here for almost a year now, and I love it, the staff is kind and courteous it is like one big family.
Terrible place to to work the staff are mean , no team work, they treat the new staff awful, No one helps, unless you are one of their own. There are a lot of violations. I urge people Please Do not being your love ones there. There is a lot of neglect with the residents. it s very sad, They are always short staff. My experience there as a CNA was terrifying . Again please do a good research before bringing your loved ones to Tarrytown Hall. A BAD BAD PLACE THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN. I feel for the elderly that live there.
I was here for short term rehab. The staff was great and very helpful. Great physical and occupational therapy.
I have been coming to this facility for more than 5 years now and it s always a pleasant experience. The staff is kind and attentive, while the facility itself maintains a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
I came here for rehab , the place is beautiful, the rooms are all new, the atmosphere was very therapeutic during my healing process. The staff were welcoming, kind, made me feel at ease during this trying time. It was not easy for me to be away from my family but the center made sure that communication was maintained. That was so important to me and they made it their priority.
Great rehab staff, friendly environment and dedicated to meeting the needs of the patients :)
I am happy with the staff, physical therapy and the way I'm treated. I really like the food. Everyone treats me with respect.
I came to Tarrytown Hall Care Center after my eye surgery. All the staff is very nice to me especially Kirsty and Howard. I get exercise and I love music which, they have for me. I like the physical therapists and the exercises they give me to do. I feel much better since I've come here.
I survived Covid!! I have have multiple commodities, including emphysema, copd, and chronic bronchitis. The Administrator is absolutely fantastic!!. The staff here are extremely caring, and receptive to my needs. It's like a family here, and everyone is very close knit. The food is wonderful, and everyone is always happy to help me with whatever I need. The faciliy is newly removated, and very clean. My Nurse Barbara is the greatest Nurse I ever met!!! Also, Anthony, Dara Dixon Ms James, Chrissy, Kirsty and Howard are superb. There are so many amazing people here I cannot mention them all !; The staff here are truly fantastic!!!
I highly recommend this facility!!
They have the best mint chocolate ice cream! I love the activities especially Bingo and Beading, it takes mmy mindo off my problems. Maxine is my CNA, she is my favorite and she is really good at what she does. When I was on the first floor Pat Lynch was my favorite and she treated me so well and made me feel so comfortable. Emily is also a great CNA.
I have been here over five years, the food here is great, the staff are polite and welcoming. I would highly recommend it here to anyone looking for a place to call home.
I am a very private person and it means so much to me that my privacy is valued and my boundaries are respected. The staff treat me very well and the food is good too.
I visited my grandmother for mothers day this morning and had an amazing experience. The staff was friendly and approachable, my grandmother delighted herself, there is no other phycility quite this warm and welcoming
The staff and care here are fantastic.
Compared to other similar homes you can feel the difference right when you walk in the door.
People are really cared for here.
Caring and professional staff that took wonderful care of my mom while she was there. I could not ask for a nicer group of nurses, they communicated any and all issues directly with me and the admissions staff make it a seamless process throughout her stay. Also a nice location in a quiet neighborhood. Thank you again for the support during a very trying time in my family's life.
The staff was phenomenal. My grandfather truly felt taken care of - he became friends with the administrator as well as the owner. Can t say enough about these people - I owe them a debt of gratitude.
My Mother in Law and Mom and Dad are at Tarry-Hall Rehab. My mother in law has been there for 3 years and it is for that reason I chose to have Mom and Dad go there as well 4 weeks ago!!. The staff there is so caring and so helpful and not once in 3 years have I ever been disappointed in any actions they have taken. I find that whenever I have a puzzled look on my face a nurse is sure to stop and ask if you could help. When Mom and Dad arrived Dad said if I knew it were this nice I would have come here months ago! Mom and Dad have been married 73 years so the staff has been so wonderful in making sure they were always given little extra s like moving to two beds closer , or taking the serving tables and putting them together in the front of the room so they could sit together and have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, just as though they were at home. Dad has been doing double duty since Mom broke her hip 10 years ago and he sure loves the service and food. When I am there when they have dinner Mom always asks how can I ask them to get less food I cannot eat this much. Last Saturday they had chicken legs and I could not let them be wasted my hats off to the chef. There are many needs when one has to make such emotional changes in their life and I can say besides care I was gentled guided by the financial office who to get help from to fill out all those Medicade forms. I can also say that the social workers have been to my aid every time I have questions and even answered my questions written after hours All in all a wonderful place to go and be with WONDERFUL STAFF. I plan to volunteer my time when visiting my family to visit others that haven t any family anymore. By gosh and by golly a win win Thank YOU EVERYBODY AT TARRY HALL!!
Went in for rehab met some beautiful ppl there, if you have to choose one, choose this one!!!!!
I came here because I had a very bad fall. The Physical Therapists and the Occupational Therapists have been so good to me. I really like when they walk with me and I especialy love when we do therapy outside.
I can't pick a favorite staff member because everyone is so friendly and caring. The food is great and I like my Physical Therapists very much!
I like living here because I absolutely love the food, it's wonderful. The chef is amazing!
Highly recommend Tarrytown Hall. Caring staff, great location, and they treat your family like their family.
The staff is kind and attentive, while the facility itself maintains a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
To said that is so upseting is an understatement. No one answers the phone on the floors , if they do pick up the phone they hang up, making believe they are not hearing you, and you have to call and call again. it is so unbeliebable in this so stressful times we live in, so many people out of work and some of the staff that works here IS VERY unprofessional so I wonder if my family member is being properly taking care off, They already give me misinformation about my family member. Keep in mind that most of the patients have elzeimer, so cannot understand or comprehend what happent. I am incresingly growing worry and scare of this place, .Where is MANAGEMENT, it seems that everyone took off for the holidays and left the patients in the hands of staff who ovbiously needs supervision.
I am calling the Health Department to check on the well being of the patients, since the family cannot get in to check first hand.SOMEONE NEEDS TO HELP.
TO THE STAFF AND MANAGEMENT "PUT YOURSELF IN THE FAMILY'S SHOES FOR 1 MINUTE" AND MAYBE YOU'LL UNDERSTAND HOW WE FEEL.
I had two strokes back to back and I had to learn to do everything all over again.I like my Physical Therapist Ricky because I'm learning to walk again and he is really helping me. Every I'm getting stronger.
For context: this review is based on my father who is a quadrapalegic with many related medical issues. Thus, it may be most relevant to patients who require a high level of care.
LOCATION - 4/5
Not difficult to get to. Ok view of Hudson River and bridge from the western windows. Parking varies but it can be very crowded during the week days.
STAFFING - 1/5
The staff simply do not meet defined care goals. They do give medications roughly on time (within a 2 hour window of the scheduled time). Other things, like turning and positioning to prevent bed sores, are regularly and sometimes grossly mishandled. If the patient is scheduled to be turned and positioned once every 2-3 hours, I have personally witnessed a patient not be turned for 4-5 hours. This issue seems to be exacerbated in the evening hours.
Typical amounts of time it takes staff to respond to a patient call bell seems to be between 5 and 20 minutes. Often, when someone responds to a call bell they say that they will need to get someone else to solve whatever issue the patient is having. Most staff are unaware of how to solve certain problems, logistical or care related, so they frequently pass the responsibility off to someone else and simple issues go long periods without being addressed.
The attitude of the staff varies a lot. About 50% of them are in positive spirits, kind or empathetic. The other half seem ambivalent, unhappy, stressed or overworked. Unfortunately this sometimes leads to conflicts.
I think there are two ultimate problems here. 1. Understaffing. I was directly told by a staff member that they sometimes have a ratio of 1 staff for 10-16 residents. Even when their ratio is the 1:8 they are frequently unable to fully accommodate the patient's needs. 2. Lack of accountability by managers. When faced with legitimate concerns (those based on levels of care and safety issues) the managers would express regret and empathy ~70% of the time and ~30% of the time would indirectly and passively blame the patient.
SAFETY AND EQUIPMENT - 3/5
They value safety and being well-equipped when it could result in a liability but not when it concerns long-term care or acute comfort. For instance, we were not allowed to use many of our home care equipment (e.g., mobility devices, shower chairs) because they were (rightly) below their safety standards. I think this is a good thing. However, they were unable or unwilling to accommodate a need for a specialized call bell that my father required since he has no use of his appendages. The reduced mobility call bell they did provide was less than ideal and the staff frequently placed it so it was entirely useless for my father who, again, cannot move anything below his neck.
Another issue is they lack of equipment made it so that my father could not take a full bath for months, despite the fact that we were told he would be able to through various means. They did provide daily sponge baths in bed.
CARE - 2/5
The reason why we wanted our father in this nursing home is so he could avoid frequent trips to the hospital. However, their inability to deal with certain care items would cause them to intentionally send him to the hospital so the hospital could solve the problem that they could not. Without getting into specific private medical information about the patient, the issue I am talking about has nothing to do with illness or communicable disease but a regular care item my father needs when he is at his healthiest.
FOOD 1/5
Hospital food/nursing food is generally bad and this is no exception. Yet, the ability to request certain meals is extremely limited in comparison to most hospitals I have experience with. Also their meals are very small, simple and many times are made incorrectly (e.g., farfalle pasta having the consistence of thick mashed potatoes).
TLDR: Biggest issue to me is under-staffing. Second biggest issue is an inability to provide some important care and hygiene items.

My grand father was here and if it wasn t for me being there no one would have noticed that he was suffocating, we had to yell for help and then the emt responded first then the actual staff i felt there was a lack of attention he would constantly be left alone when i would come in to see him, we had to wait for this incident to happen for them to try to get an appointment that we been asking for 2 weeks for a toe that was infected due to his diabetes. I wouldn t recommend this location
An absolute HELL HOLE
The majority of the staff actually working the floor are mostly very caring & respectful. BUT administration are a pack of blood sucking GHOULS
After my Mom passed away there. I went to collect her belongings. When I was directed to the basement. Where my Mom's belongings were stuffed into GARBAGE BAGS and left in the basement hallway (See Pics)
They kept my Mom a PRISONER
Not allowing her to leave the premises
Was barely able to get my Mom to my Fathers FUNERAL.
I was forced to PAY a staff member to escort my Mom AND PAY for taxi fare to bring her to the service.
They also dragged me into court. To take away my Power of Attorney.
I would like to comment on the new Administrator Neil, for Tarry-town Hall Care Center. I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with him in the recent past . He will be an asset to Tarry-town Hall. I have been in the Healthcare field a long time and its been my experience very difficult to find someone who is a leader, ethical and has a sincere passion to promote a vision and provide the most optimal care for the residents. Anyone who works with him will gain insight, knowledge and growth. I wish him sincere happiness and luck in his journey.
Only because I had to give these liars a star. They really get negative stars in my book! They start you off with all these hopes and they turn into lies!!! I've been in rehabilitation just a few days shy of a year. I'm not ready to leave because I can barely walk, but this facility wants to discharge me to the Department of Social services in the hopes that they will find me a homeless shelter. A homeless shelter !!! I clearly need help and this place is refusing me that help! Do not send your loved ones here!!! There's only a few good people that work here. The rest don't care and lie to you!!! This facility is discharging me on a suicide mission.!!!
My mother was a resident of Tarrytown Hall for 3 years. The staff were attentive and caring. My mother was in another nursing home before she moved to Tarrytown Hall and in my opinion the other home didn't even compare to the care that my Mom received during her stay at Tarrytown. They may not have all the bells and whistles of some of the newly renovated homes out there, but what they do have are caring and compassionate workers which made all the difference to my mom and my family
The nurses are really lack of experience and it s really dirty I would not recommend it to anyone!
I really like my roomate. The staff treat me well and I like them. The food is great!
My mother has been deteriorating for some time now and honestly it has been a struggle both emotionally and physically. The staff and residents have made a big difference in her care. We are truly grateful!
I am here for short term rehab. Mary is my Social Worker and I like her because she is helping me sort out my life. I also like the Physical Therapy team I am working with.
I was here once before and came back. I am receiving physical therapy and the staff is helping me get healthy. I really enjoy the activities!I would like to thank the administrator Neil for letting me come back. I'm very happy to be back!
The staff is friendly here. They spend time with me, talk to me and take good care of me. I am here for rehab to gain my strength and after worjking with the physical therapists, I am well enough to go home. I'm grateful for the help I received.
Anthony and all of the nurses take really good care of me. I really like my Social Worker Mary because she helps me.
I am so happy to be here. The place I was at was horrible and I'm glad I came here. The physical therapists are helping me to walk again and everyone treats me with respect.
My wife entered Tarrytown Hall Care Center April 2018. As her husband I went to see her about 4 times a week As I was going to see her so much the staff got to know me well. From the nurses to house keeping they were all very caring and extremely understanding to the wife s needs and my needs. To me it is a great place to have a loved one should the need arise. My wife has now passed away but I will never forget the care, love and affection all the staff gave to her while she was there
Amazing place to work, honestly staff are so friendly ; patients and residents love the community aspect!
Cannot express how grateful I am to be part of the team
You people are great, I think I'll hang around for awhile! The staff has been wonderful! The Nurses attend to my every need, the doctor came to my bedside and the Dietician went over my menus with me. I am very happy!
The people here are lovely, very friendly and nice. I felt very welcome from the minute i came in, I was only here for a short stay but they helped me during a time in need.
She was very nice, followed up even though my mother did not end up going to this facility, which she followed up and make sure my mom was okay. And also if my mom didn't like the facility she would have made sure my mom could have went to this one. I thought that was very nice and compassionate to make sure my mom was okay. I wish my mom did go to this facility
The staff are wonderful, caring and professional. It's clean and well appointed, but the best part is the care from the staff. My mother was there for rehab, and she actually had a great experience!
The rooms are so nice, no two are the same. The staff are kind and caring. Ms. Gordon always helps me. We have to keep Angel from Recreation because he does all kinds of wonderful things!
This place is horrible!!! Do not let your loved ones near this place! My mother is currently there and im doing all i care to get her out!
I am doing physical therapy and I feel safe when working with my therapists. The staff treats me really well.
I like the staff, especially the Nurses who take care of me. I enjoy walking with my Physical Therapist. The window visits are nice because I get to see my son. The activities staff are very nice and I like when the give out the ice cream.
I love the food here and especially the coffee hour. I like the recreationj department especialy Catherine. People treat me with dignity and respect.
The staff are pleasant and friendly. The physical therapiy staff Brigid, Yolanda and Nora are really helping me walk and get better. The activities staff is very nice.Gladys my nurse is also very nice.
I like Recreation because they take me outside and do activities with me like dominoes my favorite. I like my Physical Therapy because it's helping me get stronger every day .I like the Nursing staff as well. I like the Administrator Neil, he is a good guy.
Gr8 facility. Wonderful staff nurses and doctors. Gr8 food. Gr8 activities. Gr8 location. Luv this place
The staff here treat you really well here. My favorite staff member is Maxine who has been with me since I came to live here. I like the breakfasts the most.
Tarrytown Hall Care Center is safe, secure and clean. The staff are beautiful people.I'm very grateful to be here.
I am pleased with the Nursing staff and how I am cared for. Wilson, the Director of Maintenance was wonderful in fixing my window and made me feel at home.
This facility is a warm friendly place. I would highly recommend it.
My Social Worker Mary was instrumental in my care and always kept her word no matter what and that means so much. Anthony and Vincent my Nurses were very gentle with me. Gladys my night Nurse always tended to my needs. Catherine in Recreation always came around and addressed any issues I had. Tita my Physical Therapist never let me rest. We worked with weights and walking the stairs. If I was tired she would come back later, she helped me a lot. Jill my Occupational Therapist naver gave up on me, she had so much patience and gave me exercises to do at home.
I have visited Tarrytown Hall with my assisted living residents when they were invited to some of TT Hall events! It was a lovely facility from the reception area, the staff and residents we met were very friendly. The events we attended were alot of fun! It was clean and well kept too.
When I came to Tarrytown Hall Care Center I was in a lot of pain and I was very swollen from Rheumatoid Arthritis but with the staff's care and medication, I am no longer suffering like I was. I like all the staff. It has taken a long time but working with Physical Therapy I'm finally getting stronger and feeling better.
Cleanliness of the facility is excellent, food is good, and when you talk to someone, things get done. Facility provided me with a chromebook to use while I was here. Thanks to the Administrator for being easy to talk to. I would recommend the facility!
I am very happy with the care I received at Tarrytown Hall Care Center. My nurses Anthony, Vincente and Gladys really pay attention and answer you back and that's so important. I was here for short term rehabilitation. My favorite therapists were Rolande the occupational therapist and Angel my physical therapist. I especially want to thank Ivan the Dietary Director who paid attention to my diet and helped me so much. If you need a rehab, I would highly recommend this one.
I had such great companshionship from the staff, I love them to pieces and I wish I could take them with me. I hope I could coe back and visit.
